Thats very harsh imo - remember that club officials are not paid a penny and organising something like this is no easy task. Don't forget all the shows that are organised for members. There was another trip to Scotland a couple of years ago so they do happen - IIRC not may went on that but I imagine it took a lot of organising.

There are some in my Storm but you'd have to buy the car too!
-
I think they will last longer than that if you look after them and regularly clean and treat. I have my new ones 5 years and they are still immaculate. If you just put them in and forget about them they will degrade

Weather is not too bad here at the moment - a little bit of drizzle rather than the apocalyptic events predicted earlier in the week. Hope you have a good day all -

Sadly not, athletics finishes at 2pm and then there are the award ceremonies (hopefully worth staying for!) -

An unexpected fixture clash (my youngest representing his school in the county festival of sport) means I can't now make this unfortunately :-( Hope you all have a great day and the sun shines for ya! -
Thanks Jake, good luck with yours too! Mind you it may never sell - mine that is not yours!

Many spares inc BBS Solitudes and reasonable tyres, Daves16v door handle repair kit, new headlight switch ex group buy, rear spoiler motor, front bumper with iron, 2 drivers side windows, lots of screws and small plastic bits, brand new ARB drop link, brake pedal position sensor (very rare!), 2 x spare front grills (one plain one with badges) Negatives The heater blower only works on 4 - I think its a relatively easy if fiddly job to fix but note this is not the same as a standard VR6 as the blower motor needs to be bigger for air conditioned cars. - will either get this fixed or take 100 off the price Heated door mirrors don't heat Air conditioning needs a re-gas 2 small holes in centre dash where a mobile phone holder sat - will either get this fixed or take 50 off the price. Summary This is a stunning car in outstanding condition and has been my absolute pride and joy. I've upgraded it over the years with select modifications that have added to the driving experience and increased safety. Its been very regularly serviced and never went more than 5,000 miles between oil changes in my ownership. Its very well known on this forum and in the CCGB and many will have seen it in the flesh ( it won runners up prize at a CCGB national day a few years ago). Its in excellent condition throughout and in my opinion is one of the very best Corrados left. There is no rust on the body and the paintwork is in very good condition - what minor marks there are are too small to come across in photos! Its only ever been hand washed in my ownership and has seen plenty of wax! The BBS RX alloys are in great condition with only very minor kerbing on the fronts. Its been 100% reliable in all the years I've owned it. For the last 5 years its been a summer car only and has been garaged throughout my ownership. - since then I've probably done less than 1,000 miles a year in it! It drives superbly and sounds spot on. In no rush to sell and think that is a fair price for a very special car and with all the extras thrown in There really are not many left in this condition. Lots of history and photos in my gallery thread on the Corrado Forum and here http://s1288.photobucket.com/user/Vaughan_Sydenham/library/?sort=3&page=1 PM me on here or call/text 07711447659 List Date: 6/1/2014 For more info, click here to view the original listing: Corrado Storm VR6 - Green, Outstanding condition, low miles, cherished car, many extras -------------------------------------- SOLD -------------------------------------- Mobile friendly version: Corrado Storm VR6 - Green, Outstanding condition, low miles, cherished car, many extras Go Mobile: Download the free Panjo iOS app now!

Bristol Volksfest 6-8th June *Convoy & BBQ Details*
vornwend replied to CazzaVR's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Saturday tickets ordered! Who's up for a small convoy from the Huntsman? Dan - you could stay at the Ship Inn Hotel at Alveston (not a bad hotel and nice restaurant and bar) which is on our route to the show so we could pick you up on our way? -
No, only advertised it on the CCGB site at the moment
-
I agree Michael. I think part of the problem is that the market is a very limited one indeed and people expect to get them away as quickly as they would a more common car, hence they sometimes accept a lower price for the sake of expediency. I'm prepared to wait to get a better price having worked out what its still worth to me. I'm taking it for a small spin this afternoon and I find myself really looking forward to that so its still special.

Mines up for £5,475 - 86K on the clock and very similar condition to this one with quite a few extras thrown in :)

Andy - I'm in! What do we need to do as regards tickets etc?? Just Saturday for me Ok to meet up at the The Huntsman, Falfield for a convoy to the show? -
The spoiler, actual aerodynamic aid or marketing ploy?
vornwend replied to Roger Chatfield's topic in General Car Chat
You can also have some innocent fun if you use the spoiler switch when stationary at lights/junctions! -
Yes that Continental was rather special. Won't take much to get your VR looking great Jim and will look terrific with those new wheels! I noticed a bit of bubbling starting on the B pillar driver's side - had the same issue with mine a few years ago - easy to sort but don't leave it too long. I'll still go to a few shows a year I expect - national day, Volksfest etc and who knows I may be back in a Corrado one day when I need a post retirement daily. I've done less than 1,000 miles in 2 years so hard to justify keeping it I'm afraid. Having said all that it may not sell and I'll be forced to keep it :-)

Safely back from D&G with another service tick in the book. Thanks to Graham - glad to know he's doing well and there is a specialist garage for the Corrado still able to make a living. Thoroughly enjoyed driving her today, still eager, still got a lovely soundtrack, still able to turn heads and show a clean pair of heels when pushed. However just don't think I will be able to drive her enough to justify keeping her so with a heavy heart she will be going up for sale in July/August :( Some classy cars up there today - Bentley Continental, Audi Quattro, Porsche 944 not to mention Jim's VR
-
That is a definite possibility :-) Took the old girl for a little spin this afternoon after the winter lay up and have to say she still ticks most of the boxes - parked up on 85,999 miles
-
Taxed and ready for a full service at D&G next week. Then maybe time to sell up? We'll see...

Corrado Club National Day 2014
vornwend replied to Tempest's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Some of these things may be linked - rare National days in the North, leads to less members in the North, leads to less attendance when they are held there. Could we not try and alternate between north and south (using Birmingham as the centre line?) Maybe once every 5 years hold one in Scotland and Wales? Eric often manages to include a nice bonus to the day like a track opportunity, hill climb or museum and that's often enough to persuade people to become members - hence it probably makes sense to try and vary the locations a bit more widely to draw in new members? And a prize for the member who has traveled furthest to attend? -
£1,000/year is very good! Do these companies say anything about whether the panels become less effective over time? (read some reports that say they do).
-
Interesting - like you I've always thought the payback was going to be too long - do you have an annual estimate of how much your bill will be reduced by plus the value of selling into the grid? 12% return over 20 years suggests a saving of £450 year on your bill - is that realistic?
-
Hehhe, and don't forget points for best girlfriend :norty:
-
The move to award double points for the final race from next year is ridiculous in my opinion. Undermines the sports credibility even further and just shows how much its sold out to the media. Surely they could have come up with something better than that - points for pole or fastest lap etc
