I think a lot of people forget that if you buy a more modern car - often for more cash, then you are going to lose out on depreciation just as much if not more than sticking with a Corrado. It would be a rare thing for anybody to make money on buying and selling any car unless you got lucky or were a really clued in trader. Buy a newish car for £7K and watch it depreciate in value by 1.5K in 12 months or buy a £3K Corrado and spend £1K but only be able to sell it for £2.5K the choice is yours!

Been getting out on my bike a bit more recently and was thinking of getting a helmet - I've never really used em (other than when hiring a mountain bike in the lakes) but I suppose there is no denying their benefit! Can anybody recommend a worthwhile brand to go for or is it just a case of buying randomly? eg is it worth spending £60 as opposed to £20??

No idea where prices will go but the oxygen of publicity can't do any harm. Here's another article from the Classic mag world.... In my head I've written the cost of mine off completely and if I do sell anything I get would therefore be a bonus. I have to admit to being pretty hopeless on the fix it yourself front but that doesn't put me off driving an old car in the slightest. Perhaps when the kids are flown and I retire I might do more on it myself (with some help from other forum members no doubt being essential). Even before I got this one (which I think is the best car I've ever had) I always used to like holding on to my cars and seeing how long I could make them last. I'm just pleased to be the owner of a pretty rare car that is capable of very decent performance. The fact that most people don't know what it is or what its capable of is kind of nice too :shades:

Totally agree with all three points - perfectly put! -
Very nice! I captured it on my unofficial "Strom Register" when it came up for sale back in 2010 - had 115,000 on the clock then

Kenwood KAC6402 4 Channel Amp * 4-channel car amplifier * 40 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms (50 watts x 4 at 2 ohms) * 100 watts RMS x 2 bridged output at 4 ohms (4-ohm stable in bridged mode) * variable high-/low-pass filters (50-200 Hz at 12 dB per octave) * preamp- and speaker-level inputs * WDH 35cms x 29cms x 6cms I believe this retailed for around the £125 mark so looking for £35 collected This sugary review from a quick internet search..... "The KAC-6402 is a great way to improve the fidelity of the full-range speakers in your system. Four channels of Kenwood power (40 watts RMS per channel) will bring out all the details in your music, whether it's the slide of a finger on an acoustic guitar, or the subtle tones of your favorite singer's voice. Choose the frequencies that the amp receives with the variable high- and low-pass filters. The KAC-6402 includes speaker-level inputs, for hook-up to your factory stereo, so you can put this amp to work no matter what kind of system you have now" Its quite heavy so I would prefer not to have to post it. I will be at the National Day next month so perhaps something could be arranged around that

Great day at Bristol Volksfest, very chilled with thankfully no hayfever episodes . Good to catch up with everyone again. Thanks to Andy for organising, Jake for baking the rolls and Ian for procuring all those lovely Scottish burgers - How many did Phil eat in the end!! Darren - thought your car looked fantastic today - those seats are rather special. -

Bloody hell ... sorry to hear about both incidents - what a world we live in! Where was the car? Why would someone do something like that??? Jeez. No chance that anyone will have seen them?? Worth asking around perhaps? Hope you brother in law makes a speedy recovery

Some studies suggest that up to a 3rd of total capacity is lost because of hoggers. I think the biggest problem is what people consider to be a reasonable amount of time to spend in an outside lane - if its going to take you 10 seconds before you overtake the next vehicle is that ok to stay out? or should it be 20 seconds or what? Then on a busy motorway no one moves in because they don't want to lose their place in the stream. I'm glad they have announced this as it raises awareness but I don't think it will have a major impact as there are not enough traffic cops to really make a difference and convince people there is a reasonable probability of being pulled. Personally I'd like to see undertaking approved as that solves the problem but may increase risk?

Will you swing by mine on the way? -
Bit of a mystery this but I think it may have been designed for the colder northern european winter climates. My Storm came with this version and in the summer I now use the open slat version to keep oil temperatures down - makes quite a difference!
