G60 Co pot ohms reading for 68mm pulley and chip
Banana Man replied to welshlad73's topic in Engine Bay
anywhere between 600-850 for chipped ecu and 68mm pulley Alternatively get a terra clean service done lowers co and hc levels dramatically ;) (shameless plug I know hehe) -
If other members in the Salisbury area show interest then we might be able to get something sorted. On a side note of the gains, another TC dealer I know got some before and after dyno printouts for a car he's just done. MERCEDES SL320 2004 3.2 PETROL AUTO BHP: Before 219 bhp After 228 TORQUE: Before 312 (nm) After 326 9bhp and 14nm is not a bad gain at all

Im prepared to travel pretty much anywhere as long as my fuel bill is covered, the only transport I have currently though is the skyline so lugging a compressor, tool box and the decarbonizing unit around is not ideal, if the location had a compressor available (25ltr 2hp min) would be very handy as then I would only have to come up with tools and the decarbonzing unit. I'm guessing this would only really be viable if there was 5 or more of you in the same area and could make it to the same location, Its a 200 mile round trip, £65 fuel divide by 5 equals an extra £13 per head £88 per car (over 2ltr or £73 for the under 2ltrs) still lower than the average dealer that is charging £95+vat for over 2ltr and £75+vat for under ltr.

Ok Rory just drop me a line when your ready :) I'm in no real rush to take this full time, as already have full time job, just learning all the different fuel systems, pressures, relay positions, bypassing points etc etc... its a lot to take in so not rushing into it, start with what you know and build from there is my method :) ---------- Post added at 10:55 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:52 AM ---------- Money seems to go out faster than it comes in, I know that feeling all too well. Just drop me a line as and when you are ready :)
-
Can do either Rory my number is on page 1 anyway I think, currently working on this on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, may take it up full time in the not so near future

I'm just off junction 6 of the m25, giving the injectors a good clean and an engine de carbon will certainly improve make a world of difference to throttle response and fuel economy
-
Anyone else up for it then?
-
Print this for and fill it out then send off asap you will probably lose August though http://www.direct.gov.uk/prod_consum_dg/groups/dg_digitalassets/@dg/@en/@motor/documents/digitalasset/dg_065248.pdf

Likewise Mike, great to hear good feedback and glad you noticed a decent gain in fuel economy and driveability :)

Potential damage to cat longer term? This treatment helps maintain a healthier cat and all other aspects of the combustion cycle components, removing carbon deposits and intensive injector cleaning is a good thing, the car will feel more responsive and balanced after the service. How long the treatments benefits last all depends on fuel being used and if the car is being used for long or short journeys and miles covered, I recommend this treatment being done once a year, its not a lot of money to help maintain a healthier engine. ---------- Post added at 8:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 8:34 AM ---------- Hi Mark I can cart the equipment round to other locations with a power source available (to recharge the compressor) but to be honest its not really viable to travel 40-50 miles each way to do a single car, I dont want to have to put my rates up to compensate for this, I would rather continue to offer the service at a competitive rate to induce people to come to me rather than other garages like performance tuning in Slough that charge £95 + vat for a car over 2ltr, if there was a group of cars to be done in one area this would be a better option for people further away.

Corrado wont start, Not my day! is there an ignition switch relay?
Banana Man replied to joby's topic in Engine Bay
Oh sorry you never mentioned fp was priming ;) I would say possible ignition switch, I take it that the car doesn't turn over on the starter when its buzzing? -

Banana Man replied to joby's topic in Engine Bay
Sounds like it could be the fuel pump relay, should be the relay in the bottom left of the fuse panel marked 167 iirc it should just click when ignition switched on not buzz, cheap enough remedy if it is just the relay plenty on ebay. -
Well thats another forum members vr done, was good to meet you Mike, another tidy storm I must say, the new mods sound good, should be an interesting drive back to Germany in a few weeks time :) Will be interesting to see any additional gain in mpg on the drive up to Bristol, keep me posted ;) Anyone else fancy having a treatment done?
-
Was good to meet up with you Dan, very tidy storm you have too, glad you were happy with the end result :) I cant tell you the comparison between the 2 as I haven't tested them myself, all I can tell you is that every car I have done so far has had a noticeable improvement on smoothness, balance and driveability. Its unlike any other treatment I have used to date as in the fact it actually does what it claims to do;)
-
Do It :) well worth doing IMO but I would say that wouldn't I :)
-
No one else in the Sussex/Surrey area wanting to have this done then?
-
K&N part number for the 1.8 16v is 33-2032
-
I'm 10 miles from Gatwick mmmmm nugget miss my old one even though it was a money pit lol :)
-
1) ir6 (vr6 I presume)
-
I sure could, Saturday is best day as Im usually around all day, Sundays I currently work 8am till 3 ish but after that Im usually available. The treatment normally takes 1hr max including setup so if your going to be passing by give me a shout ---------- Post added 3rd July 2012 at 12:04 AM ---------- Previous post was 2nd July 2012 at 11:43 PM ---------- I really need a van or estate, could just about squeeze the equipment into the skyline but not ideal, as a trip up to midlands area will cost £100+ in fuel, 10 cars would be my minimum and maybe add £5 onto each service, still think this would be a good deal as other garages offering this service are charging £115 for the 2ltr and over and £85 for under 2ltr. so how about we see who is interested first and take it from there, stick your name down if your in the mids area and would like to have the service done including the model ie VR, 16v, 8v or G60

Converted another skeptic yesterday :) my housemate who also has an R33 GTST turned down the opportunity to invest in the terra clean equipment because he was doubtful on what the gains would actually be. I did his car for him, even had to prove it wasn't running on his own fuel and that the car was actually running on the terra clean cannisters lol Afterwards he took it out for a drive, he's always complained about hesitation and jerkyness in traffic the tc service has resolved those issues, the car is alot smoother and balanced, he's made a complete u turn on his thoughts of the service and now wants me to do his omega 3.2 barge as well :)
-
This will all make you laugh I get roughly 180 miles out of £70 in the skyline :) Although since the terra clean it has been better, took it for a long drive yesterday topped up with £65 worth of v power and done 210 miles with 3rd of a tank still left, and thats with quite alot of full boost runs down the dual carriageway (1.4 bar boost, 100+) :) Gone are the days of 350+ out of a tank for me......
