I've always used ATF dextron 2 it's suitable for most power steering racks and it's available at any motor factors, I have never had any problems with it at all

There's a guy that sells the smooth rear numberplate surrounds with or without key lock for 60 quid give him a try if you want a new one thats on the PVW website :)

Do you have a boost gauge sounds like one of your boost pipes has either split or come adrift I had the same proble when I had the lower boost pipe into the intercooler come loose and it drove like a 1.1 fester but sounded like an animal. Check all the boost pipes for splits or anything that has come loose!

Yeah it's a vibration damper if you have ever taken it off you'll notice how much it weighs quite suprising really!!! I took mine off and didn't notice any side effects at all :)

The C is at the bodyshop the engine isn't built yet and the astra was about to run out of mot and insurance needed to sort something out and the golf came along :) I dont know what to do with the astra really I could flog it on ebay to see what I can get for it or I can go and have some fun in it I already know it has a good handbrake and that it does blinding burnouts :D The golf is staying exactly as it no mods or anything yet! Once the corrado is done I might start tinkering with it seeing as Iits covered for track days it would be a shame to see that go to waste :D -

The P slots in 14" format aren't rare as no grille says the 15" ones are rare and can fetch good money I sold my last set of 14" p slots for 120 quid with crap tyres these are mint and have good tyres so are probably worth what I payed for the car :D VW still sell the P slots but will cost ya 230 quid a rim  Here's a few more pics -
Down a quarter mile a CTR will beat a VR. I raced one at santa pod and just got pipped at the line he went through the quarter in 14.2 @ 98mph you show me a standard VR that can beat that and I'll eat my words

I never had side repeaters on my golf gti it had gti plates there instead and it went through mot's fine I never got pulled by the police for them either ( loads of other things mind you :D but never the side repeaters) Best thing is to goto your local mot station and ask if they would fail the car without them! -
At last decent power!! :D Bought a golf mk2 gti, the last owner had it for 15yrs and looks as though he's taken good care of it. It has high milage 200k to be precise but it drives superbly, the interior is spotless, it has a full years mot and has been regulary serviced all this for 150 notes[/handlingb] now thats a bargain :D It should do me nicely till the C gets back ion the road :D Crappy photo's but it's dark at the mo will take some more tomorrow

It was on a couple of weeks ago now cant remember the day or time now sorry! he was a complete tosser though! old farts like him shouldn't be on the road in the first place. He had to stop cause he ended up smashed into the central reservation just what he deserved really hope his rover 75 was written off!

:D I dont have a problem with dawdlers at te mo as my astra only just about reaches 80mph it's soooo fecking slow. Get me back in the rado and there's always twats that carve you up by pulling into your safety gap or trying to overtake you just to make a point! There was a big debate on this subject on radio 2 :? ( I know but I work with a load of old farts :D ) Anyway one bloke rang in to have a moan about someone he had come across a few months back and I couldn't believe he had the audacity to moan about it. He started off like this ' I was in the outside lane of the A40 sticking to the speed limit ( 70mph) I was quite happily pootling along when this moron travelling at a much faster speed came up behind me and started flashing his lights, I was doing the speed limit so I refused to pull over to let him by he sat there on my tail for a minute or so and then moved into the middle lane and started to undertake me I decided to speed up a little by this time and as he came next to me he stuck his fingers up at me ( wouldn't we all? arsehole) he then swerved back into the fast lane, but as he did that he caught my front bumper which caused me to hit the central reservation, he lost control of his car and hit an oncoming lorry in the middle lane killling him, his wife and his 2 children in the process' He then followed by saying ' I really cant understand the standard of driving today, although I feel sorry for what happened to him and his family, he shouldn't have been undertaking" The radio presenter didn'y really know what to say at this point! I know I would have though! For one why was he in the fast lane doing 70mph when there was enough room in the middle lane? why didn't he move over when a faster vehicle was behing? and why the hell did he speed up when the car started to undertake him? If you ask me he was the one in the wrong in the first place!

does the rest of the MFA work as it gets the earth from the strap that goes from the bulkhead to the rear of the head behind the oil breather pipe that goes into the rocker cover if the mfa isn't getting a proper earth then it wont work properly this may be the cause of the problem or maybe not!

Well not long till inters now :D I ve certainly got my work cut out over the next few weeks!!! The rado is going off for the respray tomorrow for all the new goodies to be added and colour coded. The pistons will be ready for collection this week so I can finally get started on rebuilding the engine. I cant believe how much there is to do and only a very short time to do it ( 9 weeks till inters I think :shocked!: :shocked!: how did that one come up so quick!!!! ) Anyways here's a few pics I ve taken today of what it looks like at the moment and as things are getting moving now more pics will be up soon as I make progress :) I think it actually looks quite good with the grey bonnet :D

My mate got given the same ultimatum a few months back after he crashed, he told them to p*ss off to an extent and a week later he had a letter come through the post telling him that they had decided not to prosecute him for careless driving. At the end of the day if they take you to court it's going to cost them money and a shed load of paperwork, if it was only a minor incident and no one was hurt or anything then I think you'll find they wont try and prosecute you for a minor offence. I was threatened prosecution after I hit a parked car which then hit 2 other cars writing them all off when I was 18 they threatened me with upto 6 points for driving without due care and attention 2 weeks later they sent me a letter saying they weren't taking any further action against me. To sum up I would tell em to f*ck off I doubt very much if they will want the hassle of prosecuting you for a minor offence like that just my 2p's worth -
My car is hopefully going in next week to have all the reiger goodies fitted and then a complete respray including engine bay and I'm looking at a figure of somewhere around 1300-1500 quid
-
Furk when you coming round mine then with it I wikll give it a proper test drive for ya :D Hopefully soon I will have my beast back on the road thats when the real fun will start :D
-
Dan you can get a vr6 clutch from the dealers for 70.81 + vat and a normal garage would charge about 150 to do the job no more than a 3 hour job on a corrado
-
The piper bp270 is a good cam once it was all setup it had a very good power curve all the way through the rev range. You dont really want anything more extremem as you will lose the smooth idle!
-
42 quid is a pretty reasonable figure for a main dealer I think the local VAG dealer round the corner from me charger 65 quid an hour! The most expensive dealer I ve come across is the lexus dealer round the corner from my dads garage which is 120 quid an hour hat do you think of that????

Thats such a bummer! I am really scared when I get my car back on the road with it's fresh coat of paint I wont want to leave it anywhere! I got pay back with a to**er in a citroen xantia the other day though. I was parked in the car park where I play snooker waiting for my mate to turn up, I was sitting there happily minding my own business, when I noticed that there was a bloke next to me getting into the xantia heap'o'shite, he then decided that he was going to slam open his door straight into my back o/s door and then proceeded to keep knocking against it while he was having a chat to his mate, so I rolled my window down and had a word but he just shrugged his shoulders at me and carried on talking to his mate, that really pis*ed me off so I started my engine and opened my door as hard as i could slamming it into the back of his car which left a really nasty dent :D :D I then drove off with the one finger salute! You should have seen his face it was a picture :D :D :D :D . I dont normally do this but he really wound me up!!

My G60 always pops flames from the exhaust at every gear change but it could be down to the fact that I have a spark plug wired into the back box :D looks wicked when your driving down an unlit piece of road and then booooff all the scenery behind you lights up :)
