  5. ok so not speed sensor then could possibly be a knock sensor for the ecu
  6. is it on the gearbox if it is then its probably the speed sensor

  8. I'm getting that software off bnigel (g60jet) later in the week just need to know where to connect it really I ve also buggered somethinh =g up now one of the leads to the main unit became disconnected the big white plug on the side and since I have reconnected it the alarm wont work properly it keeps going off and I can get it to shut off so I ve had to disconnect the battery for the moment. Either it needs resetting or something else has come adrift but Ive had a good look and cant see anything. Its a clifford concept 300 by the way of anyone can help I would much appreciate it I'm starting to lose my rag with this car again now!!! fu&*ing pile'o'cr&p or it might just be the idiot owner LOL 8) cheers Ant
  9. I ran a jamex kit from my mk2 gti on my g60 for 3 1/2 years without any problems at all and the car handled great so I dont see why it would be any different for anyone else. The shocks and springs were an uprated kit and lowered the car by 80mm so they were quite stiff to begin with!!!
  10. Will only c you at the beer tent if I get a new supercharger by friday Andy not looking good at the mo with only a used charger coming up for £800 not paying that much so still on the lookout! running out of time quickly though!

  13. Has anyone ever connected up cliffnet cables to they're alarm unit. I have bought a set of the leads and am in the process of fitting them to the alarm unit but I cant see where they go the only plug that Ican find that the cliffnet cable will go into is in the secondary alarm unit which is the intellistart 4 unit. Can the cliffnet cable plug into this and control the main alarm unit when plugged into the computer? Any help would be much appreciated cheers Ant
  14. Someone who sells wheels and tyres will sell em someone like RSR if you have one of them near you Jim :)

  16. Problem resolved :D :D :D it was a couple of breaks in the the brittle wiring loom to the blue temp sensor after all that  Oh well thats one less thing to worry about I guess :D now I might be able to carry on putting it back together :D
  17. I dont think your supposed to undo the hex bit in the middle as that part is metal iirc and you just undo the big 36mm nut as the hex ibit in the middle is metal iirc and that gives the nut the strength I could be wrong as I ve only done it 2 or 3 times but I think I am right! You could always try an oil filter wrench to remove the platic casing there are quite a few around if its clean and dry then the belt type is your best bet or if it's a bit mucky use the chain version thats if you can get the leverage on them as it is quite tight in there
  18. Right I found a broken wire ( ground wire) to the throttle bodie switches and they are now working correctly by the looks of things and I now have a 5volt current passing through the co pot but that still isn't functioning properly asd the co mixture or the revs dont change at all when you disconnect the plug and the lambda has battery voltage across the plug pins but it still isn'r cycling on the air/fuel gauge but now all the leds on it are lit up so something is still playing silly buggers. Oh and it still starts at 2.5k everytime you start the engine so really I haven't solved anything Bl*&dy corrado!!!!! :? :? :?
  19. errrm that could be quite tricky how flippin tight is that cap then it should only be done up to something like 15nm have you got a digi cam that you can take a picture of whats left of it? Probably mole grip are your best bet I know space is a bit limited round that area
  20. Right here goes the engine runs sweet as a nut now but everytime you start it it revs upto 2.5k revs and then slowly drops ( 10-15 secs) to 1200 revs. I put it on the co meter to get the emmisions correct, but when I went to adjust the co pot nothing was making any difference whichever way I turned it so I disconnected it and made no difference on the co meter or the engine revs ( which it used to!) so my assumption was that it wasn't working but when I tested the resistance over pins 1 and 3 on it, it was altering the resistance.as I was turning it. I then plugged in the air/fuel gauge to see what the lambda was reading and it wasn't cycling like it used to when at idle I thought this was duff so replaced it with a new lambda and made NO difference at all. Then I came across another problem it seems that the throttle bodie micro switches aren't working as when you rev the car it takes ages for the revs to come back down and I ve tried 2 throttle bodies on it now! I ve taken all the plugs off to the relevant items that aren't working and tested them for current and it appears that there isn't any current going through them so either this is all 1 big related problem or I have multiple small problems I dont know ANYONE got any ideas????? I thought all these were controlled purely by the ecu but I ve tried the other ecu I have borrowed on it as well and has made no difference!!

    Gear Linkage ??

It sounds like you need to adjust the cables at the gearbox end Its a case of having a play undoing the adjustment nuts and moving the cable slightly. this may work better with 2 people 1 inside the car putting it into gear and the other adjusting it. Hope this helps a little 8)
  22. The socket size is 36mm even though I dont have a VR Andi the admin does and I had to buy one to get his filter housing off  but you say you've undone the the screw under the plastic cap???? on Andi's VR dont know about others the plastic housing has a 36mm nut moulded into it and you just attack it with the 36mm socet and it undoes the cap so you can withdraw the element inside the housing! There may be variations someone like Kevhaywire will know this as it's his field ay Kev 8)
