M1 convoy to ccgb national day from south
Banana Man replied to Banana Man's topic in General Car Chat
see you there then chap :D Anyone else??????????? -
I think that the toddington services is probably the best place to meet up and then go in convoy I'll be getting there between 8:30 9;00 ready to leave for 9:15 so if anyone wants to meet up then be there for say 9;00 :D

Identifying members of the forum at the CCGB Day?
Banana Man replied to Rams's topic in General Car Chat
I'm pretty recognisable when driving my bright yellow banana reg A14 GGO :D stickers on the dashboard with nicknames sounds the best plan to me. How about all the southern corrado forum users meeting at toddington services up the M1 at a dedicated time and the n leaving in convoy -
I think all corrado owners are welcome you will just have to pay a small entrance fee to get in I assume, but for members it's free ( whoopy :D )

G max are actually Jamex I believe as they bought jamex out a couple of years ago I ve got the jamex sport kit on my G60 which I have had on there for 3 years now and it was previously on my mk2 gti for a year before that and the shocks are still going strong I really like the handling they give as you can really chuck it about on the road and they perform really well sometimes the stiffness is a little off putting if you hit a pot hole they rattle your bones but apart from that they're really good if your after a reasonable ride then the -30-40 springs give a much smoother ride than the -80mm I ve got so I ve been told
-
It does if you copy and paste the whole link including =1692 bit :D
-
Dont know about you supercharged but I had to take the connecting rod off the back of the interior handle to be able to get it dissatatched from the outer mechanism it was a real sod to get out as it is spring loaded!! so in my case I had to take the door card off but apart from that it is a real piece of piss to do :D
-
Looks like they've gone offline tried searching the net for them and they're site no longer exists by the looks of things!!!
-
You have PM rams. The small mod people were talking about is the push lock pin if you were using standard corrado mechanisms which doesn't work as if you tried bend them the pin would break as it is very brittle. as you've bought the mechs as well there will be no need to mod them its just a direct swap!! :D
-
Supercharged is right about the handles being only £17 from the stealers but I bought the whole package from the vw audi breakers along with the mechs and a mfa wiper stalk which was brand new anyways maybe it was just luck but I was well pleased with them ordered at 4pm and arrived 9am the next morning on my doorstep cant say fairer than that!!
-
Hiya rams the later spec handles have different mechanisms to my knoeledge the ones you need are upto '92 I beluieve I got mine from the Vw audi breakers in nottingham the hanels were £10 each and the door mechs were around the same + £10 next day delivery they're number is 0115 9791121 they are usually very helpfull give em a try :D
-
They cost £7.50 from the dealers I sold my 2 I had for £35 and £36 CRAZY I cant believe people are that desperate for them I have the drawings to make my own. I was going to make it out of ally and either polish it or have it in satin black when I get the extra gauges but dont have them at the moment so cant be arsed to make one!!
-
Nice one daz I know what I'm getting for Christmas now :D

:D From experience I have found that you wont necessarily get a misfire if it is a tooth or 2 retarded ( as mine was! ) but if it's more than a tooth out advanced then you will get a misfire when you put the engine under load!! When I was having a little play when I was putting my car back to the standard cam settings even when I had advanced it by about a tooth it never knocked so I dont think that could be the problem as stevemac has already said the knock sensor just backs off the ignition timing to cope with it. Migs could it be a worn tappet making the racket as vw's are prone to the oldrattly tappets with reasonable milage on them or could be something like a sticky valve they they can also make a knocking noise. The first thing to establish is if it is coming from the top end or the bottom end of the engine then you can start narrowing possibilties from there. Hope you get it sorted mate!!!

Will a Jabba Rallye induction kit fit a Corrado
Banana Man replied to brookescourt's topic in Engine Bay
The jabba induction kit for the golf ralley is exactly the same as the corrado G60 version to my knoledge Rob, as the ralley and the corrado are very similar apart from things like the brake servo and steering column are on the other side in the ralley but that would have no affect on the induction side of things -
How about a kind of charge cooler ie a core wrapped in a jacket and then instead of running a mixture of water and antifreeze in to cool the intake charge pipe pure N2O ( Nitrous oxide) into it and have a purge kit fitted so the old wasted nitrous can be vented for new stuff that is a sure way to cool the intake charge of any modded car weather it be turbo'd, supercharged or naturally aspirated. Nitrous express do the N-tercooler kit which sprays N20 onto your intercooler so why not encase the n2o into a jacket around an intercooler core, dont know how long the n2o would stay cold for before it would have to wasted to atmosphere but it would be interesting to see how effective it would be, although a 10lb bottle would cost around £40 to fill each time ( bit dear ) or even compressed co2 has a cooling effect which is alot cheaper to buy and get hold of, but would it be efficient enough to cool the intake air enough to make a difference????? Just thought I would throw that idea into pot!! :D

Hi andy I ve had a look on ekta and the only thing that I can find that remotely looks like what you have there is part no# 034-133-283 and it's description is ' dashpot' whatever that means. Is there no part number on the part you have as the dealer would be able to tap in the number and bring it up. Hope this helps!!
-
Hiya harry the big meet you are referring to is the corrado club national day at woburn abbey just outside of milton keynes I haven't got all the details myself so cant give you all the details yet but it should be a top day out!! There were around 140 corrado's there last year and hoping to top that this year so hope to see many of the UK owners on this site there :D

Just been out for a leisurely drive getting it all set for tomorrows run on the rolling road, I had just filled up with petrol and as I was pulling out of the petrol station thats when it happened, there was a huge thud and jerk as I hit about 4.5k revs I knew exactly what it was the front engine mount had given up again but this time it has put a whacking great dent in the underside of the bonnet luckily you cant see it from the top but it is still a pain in the ar*e. The worst thing is that I only changed it in march as the old one was letting go for a ecp part maybe it's time to uprate to a turn 2 one or vibratech one. So now the day at the rollers had had to be cancelled as there is no chance of getting a new mount on by tomorrow so I am thoroughly pissed off!!! Blo*dy corrado always breaks at the worst possible time!!!!
-
What the hell has he done to that poor corrado if he likeds the mk4 headluights so much why didn't he buy a mk4????????????????
-
The bumper is easy enough to remove there are 4 bolts 19mm I think 2 each side and then the 5 bolts that hold the front spoiler bar and then all you need to remove it is gently prize the outer corners of the bumper round the plastic wheel arch mouldings then it'll pull out and then you can disconnect the fogs and indicator wires!! Job done :D

I will take a few snaps with my digi!! :D

1/4 mile in G60 is really annoying 1st off first gear is cr*p and I always have to change into 4th gear about 50yards from the finish line so that takes a bit out of a good 1/4 mile my best with the mods I have carried out so far is mid-low 15's hopefully getting back up the pod once it's all setup to see how things have improved I still want to hit the mid 14's in my beast but maybe nitrous is the way to go for a bit of extra ooomph down the strip. I ve always wondered how those gadgets work I ve been very tempted in the past to get one but never actually bit the bullet and bought one if they are pretty accurate maybe it's worth it as it usually costs me about £70 a time to travel upto the pod and run up the strip for a day not very cheap!!!!
