As some people know I got my charger rebuilt by G-Werks first of all I would like to say a BIG thank you to you darren and liam for sorting me out big time I know it's been a bit of a hike with one problem or other  and a big headache but were now got to the route of all the problems :D One of the big problems we have had is a really annoying boost leak the boost was jumping straight upto 8psi and then not really budging from there and with the porting that has been done we knew there must have been a boost leak from somewhere.after hunting round for ages testing every join on the charged air route with leak detector spray we finally found where the leak was coming from. Now were getting onto the subject I originally posted ' What do people think of carboard gaskets?' well I think they are utter crap ( been told it's inapropriate to write what I had written here ) Thank you for reading this and just for good measure here is a picture of the offending item. It took flippin ages to clean up the surfaces so we could put the whopping £2 proper gasket back in there

The vacuum line from the ecu needs to be exactly 1m how long is it now ???? that could be your problem if it's too short. -

Hi purple rado I can confirm that the magnex exhaust will fit your car the vw exhaust comes in three sections but magnex only have 2 sections all they have done is extend the pipe from the back of the centre box to eliminate the small silencer just behind the cat

have you put the vacuum hose from the ecu on the right outlet on the back of the throttle body we did this last night and it was fine untill you put it under load and when under load it would just splutter. There are 2 outlets on the back of the T/B make sure you have put the vacuum line from the ecu on the left hand outlet if your looking at it from the front of the car it is slightly higher than the the carbon cannister feed on the right. You never know worth a go -

Try changing the fuel filter and running some injector cleaner through the system see if that does the trick it sounds to me like you've got fuel starvation what injectors are you running? -
nothing a mallet wont fix hehehe :D

Try http://www.topgear.co.uk they're doing toyo proxes 205/40/17's at £65 each thats only £260 and they will deliver to your front door for £14 thats a total of £274 that aint bad if you think about it and thats over £50 cheaper than what you've already been quoted I ve used them before and will be again this week and they came next day I highly recomend them there are cheaper tyres available like the federals which are £196 + £14 delivery give em a go

Maybe the cold start valve is knackered that would cause it to run like a bag'o'shite until its warmed up a bit and comes off cold start replace the blue cold start sensor on the front of the block cant miss it its the 2 pin blue plug on the black plastic flange that comes out of the block and into the top rad hose. Thats what it's most likely to be and they're only £5-6

Harry I think you'll find that Paul the owner of Motorvation in dorking has shut that down and is now running aus tek racing in Crawley.

Or do what I did and get someone to sit in the car with his foot on the brake. I managed to roll the car about five feet with the handbrake on and the bast*rd thing still wouldn't come undone, man with foot on brake works so much better :D

Beep beep beep beep oil pressure buzzer driving me mad
Banana Man replied to spoier's topic in Engine Bay
I would replace both the pressure switches if I were you they're only about a tenners worth. If it still goes off especially round corners I would replace the oil pump as these are common faults with vw's my first golf gti went beserk every time I went round a right hand bend I ignored it thinking it was just a pressure sensor I was wrong and blew the bottom end out because it was the oil pump that had failed. They're not expensive and quite easy to do yourself and could save you the cost of a rebuild worth getting it checked at least -
Most immobilsers cut in after 30 secs if you disarm the alarm wait a minute and then turn the key in the ignition if the car starts then I would say no it hasn't got an imobiliser. Most insurance companies now want at least a catergory 2 imobilser fitted to a car didn't your insurance company require this when you got it insured you will also get a percentage off your premium if you have a thatcham approved imobilser/alarm fitted usually

Check your black vacuum hose that goes from the inlet manifold to the back of the instrument cluster if the is a leak there then you will get incorrect mfa readings

If your fitting rca cables at the same time try not to run them along with the power cables along the left hand side as this usually causes some interference instead run them down the center tunnel and into the amp this should overcome any interference
