I have a kenwood kdc 9080 and i think that the power amp chip has blown, i get sound out of the pre outs and the display all works fine but i have no sound out of the main speaker outs. I have changed every preset on the head unit, and i have tried turning the volume up and taking it off mute. Ok now does anyong know about power amp chips for Kenwood? Where could i get one? OK i have found a problme like the ones you all describe. I took the raddo to a carwash, i know i know i should hand wash it but i got a free voucher and it was dirty :oops: Anyways i ahve noticed that ALL 4 foot wells are wet, front and back, and it looks like they have got wet from the middle, liek somone trickled water from the centre, the ouside edges or the carpets are all bone dry. Now i think the car wash had a system that cleans the bottom of the car, could this leak into the car. Any ideas, heater blows hot air fine all the time, no coolent smell or anything, just plain old water, What could be wrong, and whats the best way to dry you raddo out. BEavisJem

As i have only just found out that i ahve heated mirros and have noticed that the drivers side doesn't clear. Anyone got any ideas about what to fix and how easy it is. The car is a 1992 G60 Beavis

Well here could be the worst case senario, I was driving into a service station on a dual carridgeway in my MK2 Golf Driver about 65 and braked, must have been some deseil from the lorries or somthing. But my wheels locked up. Hit the kerb at the end of the slip road about 40 mph, with wheels turned the same way as the kerb very scary, trashed both front wheel, and when you looked front on the wheels looked like this |--\ not too good. Anyways had it checked out by garages and stuff and they all said it was a write off. Found a nice garage who told me i had bent the subframe (it did have a big crease in it :oops: ) and that i had bent the hub on one side. So i brought a MK2 subframe and whole front suspention for 60 quid from a scrappie and replaced all, car was fine afterwards, oh and a couple of steelies from the scrappies as well. Car was good as new. I know this was for a MK2 golf but it shows that they are very strong. I'll stop now BeavisJem

I was looking through the recipts of my corrado and looked at the jabbasport recipt for my rebuilt charger (rebuild before i got the car) and i noticed that the previous owner went for a stage 4 rebuild. I am wondering what difference this has over a standard rebuilt charger or a stage 2 rebuild. Do i need to inform my insurance company. And what mods can i do to take advantage, the resdt of the c is pretty standard Cheers

I ahve been looking closly at my C and it appears that it had some ICE installed, at least and amp, which was screwed to the back of the rear seats, quite neatly i must say, bu i have noticed that some of the moulding have the wrong screws holding them together, obviously the guy who took the ICE out didn't have the right screws left when he was putting the interior trim back. There are also a few other screws missing from in and arround the car (2 that hold the trim under the glove box for example) Any ideas where i can pick up the different screws, if i go to the stealership will they have to order them in and will i have to order a bag of 20 at £! each :shock: I want my C to be perfect and i wonder how somone can live with putting the wrong screws back to hold the trim on. Thats first on the mod list lol Not really, the caravan belongs to my next door neighbour. Well before i do mods i need to fix a couple of things. If anyone can give me some advice that would be great. 1. Bonnet release cable doesn't open on the drivers side. Don't quite know whats wrong with it. 2. Need to sort out the fan blower, only works on speed 4, so i am off to maplin to get a fuse, is it easy to get to the resistor pack, is there another car you can get this pack from? 3. Need the center cap for one of the bbs alloys. VW want £21 for one. :shock: 5. wiper blades are worn out and the rear squirter don't squirt, i can hear the pump but no water coms out. 5. and a couple of small dents and some stone chips to sort out and then it will be all done. :) After this is done i will.... LET THE MODDING BEGIN Well i think first will be some changes to the supercharger, might get it chiped and pullied, but as i am only 21 the insurance company might get a bit pricy. Some alloys would be nice, i like the bbs rims but i would prefer some 3,4 or 5 spoke wheels. What wheel size should i go to, what will be the different between 16" or 17" rims, i know they will look a bit bigger but what about the drive. Some sound, it still has the stock speakers in, and a nice cheap goodmans POS stereo (had 2 nicked from my golf driver :( ) that is tuned into the engine on AM, good fun when your at the traffic lights, turn up the stereo and you are rooooooooooooaaaaring :oops: anyways, i need a nice alpine head unit because i allready have the cd changer. Where can i get one. I also would like to know how you get the speaker covers off the door cards to change the speakers, i have my nice set of components from my golf that i would like to put in, whats the size of the from speaker? Might be Is there something you know that i don't??? Yeah there are a couple of other things like stone chips on the front, and a crack windscreen, but i am still very happy with it. :) It was £2500 not £2400 but still not bad. Will get pics up soon. BEavisJEm

Hi guys, after using your site and information provided by you guys i have brought my self a corrado. :) Its Black G60 K reg Totally Standard, except for a stage 4 rebuild at jabbasport. 89880 miles :) Very Good history, all service recipts and mot certificates. No rust but a few dents 2-3, just small and a couple of scratches. ABSOLUTE MINT interior :) no ciggi burns or torn seats. Standard alloys but in good condition Clifford alarm £2400 I will get pics up soon. I pick it up on monday. I can't wait. When i drove it i fell in love with it. There is a corrado i am looking at buying which has a 1 inch dent in the drivers door, from somone who has opened a car door onto it. I was jsut wondering about how much this would cost to put right, the car is a 1992 G60 Black. Cheers BeavisJem

Just got a qoute from qouteonlinedirect.co.uk for £797 on a G60 with my 2 years no claims. :) Thats not too bad, G60 it is then, if i can find a nice one. BeavisJem I am paying £500 on my 1.6 driver

Thanks for the reply leew, i just want the paint work outside to be clean and the interior to be clean, if a few things need doing cosmetically i would do them, with regards to the interior. I am not expecting a factory finnished corrado but i think what you said about searching and finding what i can get for my money. I'll keep you guys updated BeavisJem

Thanks for the reply guys it been very helpful. CaiosG60 PWR idea of a perfect corrado spec is pretty close to what i want to find. I have had a white car for a couple of years and now i want a dark one, Black or Blue would be perfect. I know insurance is a big problem, i have been quote just over £750 for 1.8 16v and just over 4 figures for the G60, if i can get the perfect car i don't mind spending the extra on insurance if it a G60 :) What are the costs of chip and pulley for a G60? as this could be done in the future. Thanks again for your replies and i will be lurking around the forum. I will keep you updated with ones i go and try out. Just one final thing, How much? What am i looking to pay for a good 1.8 16v or a G60? I ahve given myself 4 Months (if i can hold out for that long) to get one so i will be doing some serious searching. Cheers BeavisJem

At the moment i am looking at about £2500- £3000, but i can adjust that a bit if it means i can get what i want. For this price what can i expect to see? If i chosse a later model valver will that be the 2l 16v, that has a cat as well i assume (>1993) i think i would like a 1990-1992 model if i could find one. I am not too keen to tuning one at the moment after spending the last 2 years doing head rebuilts, vavle stems, head gaskets, sub frame on my poor golf driver. coming up to 200000miles and drives fine :) Cheers for quick reply BeavisJem

Hi Guys just wanted to say hello and ask a couple of questions. Having been VW fan for a while now, I have decided to buy a Corrado :) OK now i am 22 and waiting for the my 2nd years no claims in september. So that gives me 4ish months to find the car i want. Can you guys give me some tip? I have searched the forum and got alot of information about what to look for when buying corrado's. But i would like to know how much i would be looking to spend for a clean corrado with no mods. I can carry out minimal work myself and i would also put some money in to get the car perfect for me. I am interested in 1.8 G60 and 1.8 16V. No VR6's because of insurance. Which would be the better car and why? Why should i go for the G60 rather than the 1.8 16V apart from performance? Can you give me some figures of perfomance on standard G60's and 1.8 16v's? Top Speed, 0-60 etc, i have read the figures on vw-corrado-club.co.uk and the web site says the G60 is only a few MPH faster than the 16V is this true? How much and i expecting to pay for a corrado? Are there many about? i have seen a few on autotrader but i was wondering if it will be a difficult search to get a good condition one. What other places could i look for corrado's apart from Loot, auto trader etc, could you give me a list? Should i look for newer corrado's 1991-1995 or eairlier ones? why?
