  1. Don't know if it adds strength, they are bonded in so they might add some strength.
  2. Got a Corrado G60 on standard suspension with 17" rims. I have noticed lately its pulling to the right under breaking and acceleration. If I brake from speed its fine but breaking from about 30 the steering wants to wander to the right. When I accelerate it wants to pull right as well, there is a lot of torque steer but it doesn’t feel right. I made a previous post regarding the rear end being twitchy and I am going to replace the rear axel bushes. I had 4 wheel alignment done about a year ago. I did hit a pothole about 3 months ago and punctured a tyre from it. This was the front driver’s side wheel. When I changed the wheel it seemed fine but in the last few weeks it becoming really noticeable. What would be the best course of action? Cheers Beavis
  3. Thanks for the advice. I've had 3 new tires on the front in the last month due to punctures outside my business premises I think I am going to go for FULL overhaul on the suspension, brakes and bushes. What do I need to change? Pads all round Bearings All round Disks all round New suspension (coilovers if I can afford them) New brake pipes as I just had a look on the MOT and one was an advisory Top mounts have been changed in the last few months. Now for things I need some advice on changing to improve the drivability of the car Wishbone bushes (I assume these are original) Rear axel bushes? (What are these and where are they) Anything else people can think of? Cheers Beavisjem
  4. Its the rear nearside wheel bearing. It ticks when i go round a roundabout a bit quick.
  5. LOL at Khurrado Its on the shopping list
  6. My rado has been very good to me the last 2 years but yesterday it was a little scary. Was traveling along an A road behind a slow vehicle and decided to overtake and accelerated the G60 quite comfortably to a safe overtaking speed :D As I pulled in I touched the brakes and the entire back of the car twitched violently. I was worried I was going to go off the road. It felt as though the brakes were not all working evenly. The rear shocks were replaced with standards about 2 years ago and the fronts haven’t been changed since I have had the car. (2.5 years) The front brake pads were changed 3 months ago and the rears haven’t been change for over 2 years. The nearside rear wheel bearing needs changing. I'm now a little worried about throwing my car around country roads as it’s become fairly unpredictable. What should I be checking. The only other thing I have noticed is the brake reservoir is lower than normal and when I brake it pulls slightly right. Was all fine a week ago and I haven't hit any kerbs. Hope you guys can help. I am looking at up rating the suspension and lower it. Any recommendations? Cheers Beavisjem
  7. You get a dump valve type sound when you remove the boost return.
  8. Have you check round all the water flanges in the engine, the o-ring is known to perish over time. You should be able to see a slight pink crust around any of the flanges. Start the car and lift the bonnet, with you losing that much water you will be able to see whee its coming from. I have a g-60 and i was loosing water and opened the bonnet. the front flange was dripping with water. Changed the flange ( I know not the same as the VR but might help.
  9. It must be a boost leak, when i press the accelerator its hessitant and runs like it hasn;t got a supercharger on it. I would do a boost check but i can;t get the bonnet open :(
  10. I think i have a big boost leak because i need this bolt Can anyone check ETKA or know what size it should be?
  11. yeah i have the gasket, but i don;t have one of the bolts that holds the u bend on, ony the centre and suppot arm are connected.
  12. ok, today i decided to put my G60 FMIC into my car. Unfortuanly the car now drives as fast as a 5cc scooter. What have i done wrong. Took the slam panel off to fit it nice and simple. Put the rallye Ubend on, Only had the centre bolt. There also needs to be one on the front side but i didn;t one (gettign one friday), would this be the cause of my slow car, could it be massive boost leak. Just feels like the further up the rev range you go the slow and less responsive the car. I also put the bonnet bowden cable on but forgot to tighten the bolt so i can't open the bonnet DOH I also cracked a headlight DOH HELP PLEASE
  13. Hairdryer and slowly peel them off? No idea really
  14. I would have thought an un modified car would be more desirable. The problem with mods is they are normally personal. I would have thought people would like un modified car and if they want to mod it they can otherwise they might want to leave it standard. When i brought my G60 the only thing modified was the vw badges, black instead of chrome. I liked it this way because i could do the mods myself. BUT........... Its all swings and roundabouts. I would have though if you are selling the car to an enthusiast or somone more into car than your average person then they might see the mods as 1) somone who took pride in their car and spent money on it and 2) that will save me some moeny in the long run. So you might get more for a standard or you might not, at the end of the day its how much someone will pay for a car on a certian day. Beavisjem
  15. I agree with you sam the bam is a great engine. I think they are built slightly stronger. They say anything over 320bhp on the 150bhp or 180bhp engine you need to be looking at upgrading the internals wheras the 225 BAM is happy with up to 400. I think the differences are 20vT - 150 Big valves small turbo - KO3 turbo 20vT - 180 Small vavles medium turbo - KO3s turbo 20vt - BAM 225 Small vavles Big Turbo - KO4 Turbo If you buy the 150 and change the turbo you will need new injectors and a remap Same if you buy a 180 engine and chage the turbo. The 225 BAM engine is the best out of the box.
  16. If you want big power get the 150, it has bigger valves than the 225, therfore when you put the KO4 turbo from a TT engine on you can get nearer 300bhp The 150 engines are cheaper than the TT's In terms of actual conversion, (G60) it will sit directly on the engine mounts, you can then bolt your gearbox straight on. You will need to fabricat a custom down pipe from the turbo to your exhaust. And then you need to wire it in. Easiest way is to send the loom off from the 20vT and get http://www.qpeng.com to customise the wiring loom and its just plug and play. Hope this helps Beavisjem
  17. The one with the old F1 car is from 1977 or somwhere around then. Unfortuatly the marshall who got hit also killed the driver with the fire extinguisher he was carrying. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Pryce (Driver) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jansen_Van_Vuuren (Marshall) Before my time but sounded like a terrible weekend for formula 1
  18. Got my whole car resprayed and the day i went to pick it up i used jump leads to start the battery and dropped the end of the positive lead on the bumper, nice ding before i had even driven it :( I didn't pick it up that day as i got the bumper redone
  19. If it is the spreed sensor then you need the one with the right angle, there are 2 units one straight and one right angle, bothe will fit but the right angle on is a better fit. Beavisjem
  20. Don't accept it. Regardless of the cost a good body shop wont have imperfections and a price of £1500 should get you a very good job. When i had my car sprayed i went round it with a fine tooth comb and the painter was happy for me to do it. He was very proud of his work and i must say i didn;t find a single probem. He even showed me some of the tricky area's. My car had lots of stone chips, a dent in the rear arch, couple of big dings in the door. All done properly. If they are proffesional then they should get it right, its their job. So don;t pay them, did you get a chance to look at any of their other work, what was that like? Use it as a comparison. hope you get it sorted Beavisjem
  21. Cheers Henny but could you tell me what that all means. Why go for 9:1 over 8.5:1 or the other way round. What are the benifits of a lower compression? What is the compression on a standard G60? Cheers
