VR6 dry sump system Dissertation (R&D Project)
mattnorgrove replied to boost monkey's topic in Engine Bay
Could you base your design on the VR6 engine? Would it be technically feasible? If so, could you not then sell your design as a kit/conversion on here? I'm sure it would go down well if it wasn't too cost prohibitive! Just a thought, please bear in mind i have no idea what it would involve physically! :D -

This car just gets better and better. I think it looks (dare i say it) equally as good on the Speedlines. Good work that man! :salute: -

Gutted for you mate, hope you're ok though, thats the most important part. Hope it all works out for you insurance wise too, i'm not envious of your position now. At least you have other minty examples in the fleet to soften the blow, granted that's a small consolation, but better than none... -
Yep, the clincher is the C Pillar, very similar, hope that makes it through to production. Only wish VW had the badge on the front though, would be the stick in the eye that the Corrado was to the Scirocco.

Toy Story 3 9/10 I nearly cried at the end. :camp:

Just spotted you don't have a sunroof? Interesting. Your pipes must be redundant then. Pretty certain they don't appear under those roof strip though.
-
No. Those pipes lead up through the body to the sunroof assembly, from all four wheel arch areas. They're there to drain water away that collects in the sunroof area. If you slide the sunroof back you should be able to get to the other end of the pipe. They don't appear under the roof strips. Hope this helps. Matt.

Still no rear lights from jimmyvwjunkie. I've given up hope of so much as a reply from the guy now. It's been a month since he came on and promised a partial refund, and promised he would send out the lights. 3 months now since paying for them. A warning to all, do not buy from this guy.

Sounds like an interesting role Are you a CCIE/JNCIE or is it a case that you've now got so much experience that you don't need the certificates? Have just purchased a cisco lab to get started on the CCIE...... your job sounds like the kind of thing I'd like to be doing :) My role is predominantly layer 1&2 Transmission, although we have recently taken on the role of integrating layer3 NTE's onto the transmission backhaul network, so will in the near future be moving into the realms of IP. My complany have agreed to put me through CCNA and Juniper training (pretty good when you weigh up the costs of that sort of training), so will be looking to move into IP configuration fully in the next 12 months. What is it you do then? And for whom? -

I'm a Network (DWDM, SDH, Ethernet) Test Engineer. Fault finding and fixing mainly. We remotely test all new services my company has provided and those that don't work first time, is where my role fits in. Our Field staff attend each end of the link, to install NTE's and Routers. It's my job to find why the link won't pass traffic, and sort it out. Nice and varied, and quite high pressure, so it keeps thing interesting. Plus working in the city means plenty of boozers for after work. -
Have the longest fingers known to man Can say the alphabet backwards Can drive a (golf) ball rather well
-
Ta for the clarification David. I reckon its the bottom joint on mine then. Cheers.
-
Yeah thats where mine sits. One up from lowest. Is it not easier to swap out the worn UJ though?
-
On some cars, the universal joint in the column that allows the column to be height adjusted gets "slack" with age and you end up finding that driving in a straight line, you find the car wanders around on the road a bit or that you get vagueness in the steering. By fitting the fixed height column you eliminate that UJ and it tightens up your steering :) Cheers for that Jim, the reason I ask is that the UJ on my steering column was an advisory on last years MOT. With the fixed height column fitted what sort of position does the steering wheel sit?
