Going from my original Speedlines 15 x 6.5j ET43 to a 17 x 7.5j ET32 with 205/40/17 tyres, will give an extra 24mm of poke outwards to the arches, judging by an onlilne offset calculator, which sounds like a lot. Will this still clear, or am I looking at rolling the arches etc to avoid rubbing on the arches? (Car is at standard height for now) Cheers, Matt

Just got round to ordering a pair of these, and it seems they've been discontinued! Nowhere to be found on the DDI website. :( Does anyone know if these, or similar, are available elsewhere?? Cheers.

Finally treated the old girl to a bit of a makeover yesterday, started with a good wash, 2 bucket method, Meguiars Gold Class shampoo, using a lambswool mitt, waffle weave towel to dry off. Set to with Meguiars Quik Clay, followed by Meguiars ScratchX where swirling was worst and around the drivers door handle. Next up, a coat of Autoglym SRP, then finished with a good coat of Collinite 476s. Trim and plastics treated with Mer Exterior Plastics and Bumper Gel (great product, and smells good too). Well worth the effort, took about 7 hours all in. Also a quick pic of my £40 "eBay special" sub install. Really pleased with the sound,it's really given the low end fill that was missing with just the components up front, and has allowed me to use the on board crossover on the amp (Alpine V12), so the correct frequencies are hitting the correct speakers. Fitted with banana plugs for easy removal if i need the whole boot, and held down with self adhesive velcro strips. Just the "hook" half used, attached straight to the boot carpet, doesn't move an inch.

Was gonna say just that, good earthing points if they're not used for anything else....

Pink holes are for another use altogether.... :luvlove: :norty:

Lucky to walk away from crashes like those!

they all are though - as far as I know, no manufacturer has ever produced all red rears, so any you find will either be standard or crystals that have been spray tinted.... Correct, there have never been any manufactured all red rears. All have been done using tint and laquer. "Savage" tint is the one to go for, and clear laquer from Halfords etc... Theres a good guide in the wiki.

Switched Live in engine bay - Where to find one?
mattnorgrove replied to mariojoshi's topic in Engine Bay
If its for feeding a pair of fans then I'm gonna assume it'll be a fairly heavy draw on the existing cct you choose to use. What sort of rating are the fans (amp wise). You will need to consider that when choosing the cct to break into. Would it not be easier to go directly back to the fuseboard? -
its called a corrado Jim   You know it makes sense Karl. You'd be bored with a MK5 in about 6 months...

Judith would you let me know the name of the guy that did your screen please?? Really want mine replaced but you hear such horror stories! Wouldn't mind it being done if you know the fitter competent at the job. Cheers, Matt.

288mm slider sleeve cap (anyone with ETKA help?)
mattnorgrove replied to Fanjita's topic in Drivetrain
Bit OT here but that screen shot shows a tube of lithium grease, do the slider pins HAVE to use this type of grease? Is normal grease totally unsuitable??? -
How Much for the Corrado's older brother?
mattnorgrove replied to Alex_G60_Fanatic's topic in General Car Chat
Good luck mate, lets see some pics!! I love a nice MK1! :D -
Hi mate, you can use the original wiring to feed the new 6x9's but you will need to cut the factory plugs from the loom and maybe extend the cabling to reach the new positions on the shelf. The joint you make can then be hidden behind the rear suspension turret carpet, to keep things nice and tidy. You will need the appropriate sized female spade connectors (positive=wide connector, negative=narrow connector) to crimp onto the end of you new length of cable, in order to connect to the 6x9's too... How Much for the Corrado's older brother?

Theres a tasty MK1 with a Rado G60 conversion on Ed38 at the mo. 1978 I think. Up for £2200 IIRC... Worth every penny too, fully resprayed in a period colour, looked lovely. Here: http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.p ... pic=283980 Or one here for £12K!!! http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.p ... pic=265749 -
You really need 205/50/15 to keep the rolling radius the same, 195/50/15 will give a smaller radius, knocking out your speedo/odometer. Kuhmo KU31 can be found for around £50 a corner, and come very highly recommended, brilliant performance for such a budget tyre.... HTH
