Do you sell the kit for the Fabia VRS ?
-
Weitec are the same company as KW who's coilovers are used extensively in top level motorsport (German DTM/WTC etc),so i'd imagine the're very good. i think basically you won't go far wrong with Bilstein,Eibach,H&R or KW - all top coilover manufacturers..i can tell you from experience the Bilstein PSS coilover kit is super smooth as is the H&R Comfort kit or whatever it's called.

Mark, Totally agree..thats why i'm trying to source the part number/s for the SKF wheel bearings (same as VAG). Cheers, Meredith
-
Will do - cheers
-
Stan, Are these SKF bearings ? i've read on here that off the shelf GSF bearings don't last very long, whereas the SKF ones are the same as used by VAG but for a fraction of the cost.. thanks for the info though :thumbleft:
-
I got a price off VAG earlier - £29.49+ vat..each ! i think there's a place local to me that sells them for about £5 per unit. does anyone know the part number/s for SKF front wheel bearings for a VR6 C ? thanks in advance..

-
We got a place like thati n S.Wales - http://www.renowheel.co.uk/contact.html if these guys can't sort it then its definitely unrepairable.. headed down there thurs afternoon to see what could be done with my OZ Futura splits, they showed me a Porsche dish that had been folded over back on itself, you could hardly see any signs of damage @ all !

I have all 3 VF mounts & find very little vibration @ all TBH..only when you turn the ignition key first thing & sometimes when you back off the accelerator peddle, certainly not irritating in the slightest,in fact i expected a hell of a lot more. i had the front one fitted a day before the other two & noticed virtually no additonal vibration to my surprise because i'd read/heard the gearbox mount was the worst of the 3. give it a week or two & you almost forget there fitted.. my brothers Golf VR6 is fitted with just the front VT mount & that thing has a ride 10 times worse than mine, but has full front & rear Powerflex bushes/17's so it's not really a fair comparison..

Ha ha can't fault that shit :)

ET33 on 17x7.5's is bang on for a C VR6,like gradeA said it's the same offset as the BBS RS301's which where pretty much made for the VR6...
-
Dunno i could be very tempted by one or two subtle modifications, but it's a great platform to start with so no need to mess with it too much :thumb right:
-
Lol i'm more of a minimalist me,i like taking bits off rather than putting em on :D..i think the strips work fine on OSV's car because it ties in nicely with the colour coded centres.. agreed there very low profile on your car - hardly noticable
-
It's imposible to say as I've just had my rear axle bushes replaced so the handling is now far better :afro: , however as the tyres are identical I think there would be no real difference due to the extra half inch on the dish. Yeah fresh bushes do make a huge difference if there shot - i take it your running 215/40/17's all round then ? Edit: forget the previous question i just read page 19 Doh !
-
i'd take the strip off altogether - especially on a lighter car,it really makes a big difference IMO..only thing is avoid supermarkets, women drivers & renegade shopping trolleys @ all costs
-
BTW OSV,how do you find it handles with the 1" dish on the rears - any noticable difference to 7.5's all round ?
-
Looks awsome with the black centres :thumbleft:

Ah ha so the Squirrel finally makes a post :) Don't worry guys i think he checks his emails about once a month :cuckoo: i think he's getting his car back from Grant Motor Sport this afternoon,i'll give him a shout when he gets back tell him he's got a post to reply to. Gavin his cars always been a 9A along with the KE-Motronic fuelling and ignition...
-
Just a quick note - if your planning on running standard wheels with coilovers you will probably need a 5mm spacer to avoid rubbing on the rears..i've had to on a VR & a friend of mine who has a 2.016v with H&R coilovers has the same problem...
-
I've been running a set of Bilstien PSS coilovers for over a year now with standard bushes etc & i absolutlely love them - the ride is better than factory - super smooth, yet really tight & thats lowered as far as they will go without removing the rear helper springs ! BTW i'm still on standard speedlines, but plan to move up to 7.5 x 16's shortly, poss 8's on the rear i've just added 3 x VF engine mounts & thats just the icing on the cake, the car feels really tight, handles great yet very smooth @ the same time. plan to add Eibach ARB's & Strut Braces/Vibratechnics Rear Axel Bush & possibly a full set of Powerflex bushes for the front end (bit worried the Powerflex bushes will screw up the ride with lower profile tyres on 16's though)
