  2. Nearside (L) door bits off a 1994 VR6. Window regulator and motor; moves smoothly when I put power to it Inner window black plastic trims Outer window black upper rubber seal Door rubbing strip Happy for the trim bits to just be made use of, so just postage costs. Want something for the motor/regulator. Thanks, murray
  3. SOLD SOLD SOLD Corrado VR6, 1994, 126k, Cream Leather, Aircon, FSH, full MOT. £2500. In Cambridge Classic green 1994 Corrado VR6 with cream leather interior, cream dials and original BBS Solitudes. Looks like a storm, but with the ultra-rare aircon fitted. 126k miles with extensive history. I’ve owned it for 9 years and it’s been regularly serviced, sometimes after less than 1000 miles. Mechanically excellent, original, and very solid underneath. Full MOT just passed with no advisories. Bodywork straight, but paint needs a bit of tidying. Easy project for what will be an excellent investment. Lots of random spares including obsolete parts included. Spec: Electric mirrors, windows, spoiler, sunroof (tilts and slides); remote central locking with Toad alarm/immobiliser, 2 keys; trip computer, cream dials, aircon, electric heated seats, ABS, 4x good tyres; original tool kit, warning triangle, leather owners folder/handbook, and sales receipt! Major jobs done: In addition to regular servicing: Lupo wiper conversion; new coil pack, HT leads, cam sensor; coolant hoses, reservoir, senders, electric pump, main pump, thermostat and housing, new radiator (cooling system finally works correctly); Valeo heater matrix (worst job ever…); cam sensor; coils & dampers all round, R32 bushes top and bottom, ARB links; rocker gasket; metal striker arms in door handles; steel brake pipes replaced with copper – anything mechanical that needed doing has been done. Bad points: Alloys need a refurb; bumper stone chipped; light bubbling on front offside arch; bonnet needs a respray; light scrape to rear nearside arch; air con makes the right noises but doesn’t get cold anymore. Priced to reflect this. Selling due to a T5 camper project that has stolen me. Contact Murray on: [email protected] or 07808 579069
  4. Mine did this on and off fro years - at the most inopportune moments. It was the ECU power relay in the end. changed it and never looked back. Fuel pump relay can give similar symptoms too
  5. for the money i don't there is anything better than the weitec ultra GT kit..... really nice ride as well for a lowered car.... pb
  6. how does something that is only 3 um thick have such an amazingly low thermal conductivity..?!? does it just block heat transfer by radiation - although it doesn't look very shiny..?!? can i spray my house with it........ weird........ pb

    vr6 cams

Doesn't NormanCoal just want to know what power figures a standard VR6 makes after a remap vs. a remap AND 263's..?!? pb
  8. different as in it has 2 open holes for sensors in the flange....?? ive had this before with the gf's golf, and if it is this, gsf should have told you you needed a blanking plate for it... i think they sent me out one FOC. or you can use an old sensor..?!? pb
  9. Just drive it below 3000rpm in suitable gears (i.e. don't let it labour in 5th up a steep hill) and don't rag it until its oil is warm, and don't worry.....!! pb
  10. MOT garages are always moaning about the play in these style top mounts when the weight is off the wheels......... Its my pet hate, and i just don't understand how there can't be any play, given that the top plate would rub when steering L to R if there was no gap..?!?!? The cars weight holds the mount snuggly in the strut tower, and the very top plate just stops the strut dropping when jacked..?? What do VW do when a car they know has brand new top mounts fitted comes back after failing an MOTfor top mount play..?? Stick another new pair in...??? Has anyone even spoken to "The ministry" about this annoying issue and the way they are tested...?? pb
  11. yes, its normal, a common issue, and happens as the rubber top mount squishes... but my MOT garage try to fail me on it every year...... i normally persuade them otherwise, but still a complete pain.... pb
  12. I thought you had the Weitec ultra GT...?? Is the rear spring plate on the lowest setting already then..?? Or is this because the PI springs have a higher ride height..??
  13. would the really long pipes under the car act like an intercooler with all that air whoosing past..?!?! pb
  14. This could also be anything that cuts a critical power feed - fuel pump relay (probably kangaroo on cut out), ECU relay, or ignition switch. pb

    vr water temp

sitting at 80'C whilst moving is exactly right for a VR.. Consider yourself lucky...!! pb
  16. if it only happens below 15mph, could it be the corrado 'traction control' kicking in wrongly..?!? pb
  17. or just change the tensioner bearing a la wiki......!! £5 at most - just remember its a left handed thread...... pb
  18. Blimey, you must have some serious relationship issues with your father...!! May I suggest a good therapist.? The difference between early and late spring plates is a mile, so if you thought one side "actually fitted okay originally" you must be barking. Learning from here is one thing, but discovering you made the mistake by driving thre car until the spring popped through the top plate is quite another..... If you are gonna do jobs on your car involving suspension, steering or brakes you need enough mechanical wit to see when something is wrong BEFORE it goes wrong.... end of... pb
  19. Not to sound stroppy, but if you couldn't tell that the suspension strut assembly clearly was not right before you put it back on the car, you really shouldn't be doing these jobs.... :nono: next time you may not be so lucky.... pb
  20. I had this a month after fitting my Weitec ultra GT, and had put new top mounts and bearings in at the same time..... And of course it started just after paying cambridge performance tyres an inordinate sum to do a four wheel alignment I've ignored it for 6 months, then the other day whilst doing an oil change with the front up I liberally sprayed WD all over the coils and onto the exposed parts of the top mounts - making sure I didnt get any onto the brakes - moved wheels left to right, drove to Scotland and back and it has been SILENT ever since.... PB
  21. My top tips would be: to use a blanking plug (cut down bolt with PTFE if you don't have any..??) on the rear pipes coming out of the 'distribution block thingy' just below the ABS pump, which gives you all the time in the word to sort the rear out...... and secondly to use the old pipes as a template to fashion the new ones - use lots of tie wraps to hold the 2 of them together at bends, etc, which really helps keep the new pipe your making up in the same 'plane' as the old one. doing it this way you can almost get the hand bent one identical to the old one.... pb
  22. water pump pliers/mole grips fine.. .........until you find a clip that has been seated facing the wrong or an inconvenient way!! then this tool would be fantastic.... pb
  23. my first thoughts would be to check the ECU power relay (109..?? i think...), or the fuel pump relay... maybe even have a look at the contacts or reseat them... pb
  24. i hate this..... our MOT station picks this up every year on both our VWs... even 3 months after having new top rubbers fitted to the golf3.. basically the rubber squishes a bit over time such that when the wheels are lifted - as in an MOT - an amount of play will be evident... however, when loaded on the ground the top mounts will still be able to do their job and have no play laterally..... I challenged them last time and they phoned the 'ministry' who said this problem had been noted for sharan's and lupo's but not golfs, or corrado's.... in the end they agreed they were still 'able to operate in the correct manner' or something similar and passed it.... for next year I am planning on making up a spacer from an old rear bump stop to sit under the top retaining plate under the bonnet, so when the wheels are lifted there won't be any play..........!! pb
  25. if it has stored lots of 'innapropriate' adapted values over the 1700 miles it may take time for the ECU to relearn more suitable ones... Disconnect battery for 5 mins and then follow the ECU reset procedure in wiki and the vagcom basic settings... I doubt it is this though if you can really feel a major loss of power.... pb
