  1. Shame you can't make it Ben but I'll try to remember my camera. Be great to see you Oz! I'm not at all prepared for the morning so very unlikely I'll be there at 9... Nick, I'm not sure about spare passes - I don't have any, sorry. Glad to know that I'm not going to be the only one there - I was worrying for a while!!
  2. yes, I looked at them too but they are more expensive and a lot further away. I have heard very good things about them too though. Thanks for the suggestion.
  3. ok - I need to wash mine in the morning (had planned to do that this evening but I fell asleep when I got in from work!) so I'm not sure when I'll get there... hopefully not too late though.
  4. A colleague and I both want to get some wheels refurbed and I started to wonder if anyone else around the north Hampshire area is thinking about it too. I plan to go to MyAlloys (who I've not used before but have only ever heard very good things about) in Basingstoke. I have no idea at this point if they would consider a group discount but didn't want to ask without knowing if anyone else is interested. They quoted me £60 + VAT for each wheel (original one piece 17" BBS) for single colour powder coating. Neither of us are rushing to get them cleaned up now - I'm really thinking ahead for next winter but happy to move a couple of months either way if others are interested.
  5. what time do you both plan to get there tomorrow?
  6. well, according to the list on page 2, Ian, Dave, Charlie and me but it seems ominously quiet...
  7. very true, even mine will be on the stand! So how many people are going to be there? Doesn't sound like many which is a shame as it's been a great day out in the past. Mine is getting some new tyres tomorrow and the running issue seems to have disappeared (fingers crossed it doesn't return until next week at the earliest!) and I've even remembered to renew my CCGB membership...
  8. Really cross with myself for forgetting about this! Great to hear it was a good event. Roll on next year!!
  9. awesome! I'd love to be involved in a project like this! Very best of luck.
  10. My car has a running issue at the moment but if I can get it sorted in time, then I'm keen. Would be happy to help out on the stand when I'm not on track. Need to renew my CCGB membership too...
  11. welcome Shep and good luck in your search.
  12. since my last post on this thread a few weeks ago, 3 more people at work have chatted to me about the car. Seems like this company employs a lot of Corrado fans!
  13. More nice comments at work... someone asked me when I am going to sell my car to him. Apparently he's looked at it every day for the last 4 months (which is how long I've worked there) and he was raving on about how good they are. I told him it's worth £10k thinking it would put him off, but he didn't flinch - not quite what I was expecting! Even if he was serious, I still couldn't sell it...
  14. Completely forgot to post that I saw 3 at Silverstone at the Pistonheads Sunday Service on 16th March. First was an M reg sherry pearl VR which I watched on its track session, second had a VRG number plate and was parked up to go on track although I didn't see that, and third was a K reg VR in the Pistonheads car park. Sadly mine wasn't there as I went with a friend at the last minute. Wish it had been though as I def would have been out on track!!
  15. I'm keen to try a different circuit. Any suggestions?
  16. Agreed, I definitely want to get out on track again this summer. I need to look into dates and cost I think. I wonder if anyone else would be interested in coming along too...
  17. A guy at work who I don't know asked me if the Corrado is mine. His words after I said yes? "Such a sweet motor!" Then stories about his friend's old one, questions about mine and finally talk about track days. Made my day!
  18. Corrado non-spotting... 600 miles from Sunday to Tuesday and I was feeling confident but not a single one spotted. I wasn't even in mine grumble, grumble!
  19. Just dropped mine off at my local garage and discovered there was one already there, L***HJB.
  20. Nice progress Michael. Car looked great at Stanford so must be spectacular by now. Never appreciated RCs til I sold mine...
  21. Jetta GTI. Which is the daily depends on which is broken. Currently my Corrado is doing all the work.
  22. Yep, I have all old tax discs and DVLA letters too. I agree that someone who bothers to file all that stuff is much more likely to look after their car. My Jetta came with a wonderful handwritten notebook from the first private owner (it started life as a lease vehicle). It lists every penny he spent on the car including fuel stops. He drew loads of columns including date, petrol stn, grade of petrol, price per litre, mileage, avg fuel consumption, his start point and destination, and oil temp when he stopped. Awesome thing to have but wouldn't have liked to have been queuing behind him!
  23. Around 11.45am last Friday (29th Nov) I spotted a grey C on the A36 somewhere between Frome and Bath. Think it was near Beckington. Can't remember the plate now, but think it was an L reg. Looked lovely. Typically, I wasn't driving my rado...
  24. hi Jim, very sorry but I'm going to have to drop out of this. I've got a very expensive repair bill on my car, the cams haven't gone in and the car is still at the garage at the moment. Disappointed not to be going but I hope you all have a good day.
