  1. I delayed paying for mine because I couldn't decide which finish I wanted so this has helped me out! Now paid for. Thank you so much for organising this.
  2. Thanks Tony. I'll have to work down that list! Some are definitely ok, but I'm sure that the glovebox is a major culprit. That tends to creak a lot so will have to pay some attn to that I think.
  3. Not offended. There are a few of us on here but not that many! Anyway, now you've got your avatar sorted, you need to get a few more pics of your car up! Maybe start a members gallery thread so we can all see the progress you make? Good luck with it!
  4. Woman... But no problem :)
  5. Oh no Mic! Sorry to hear that it didn't work out. Hope you'll find another soon.
  6. Welcome to Corrado ownership and the forum! What have you tried so far? I think you need to click 'settings' in the top right corner and then 'edit avatar' from the list on the left. From there you should have a couple of options... either from another website such as Flickr or upload from your computer. I think there are size limits for the photo. Not sure what they are, but if the photo won't upload try reducing the size and see if that helps?
  7. I'm sure mine rattles and squeaks too but I can't hear it for all the rattles and squeaks from the dash. Another job added to the list!
  8. hehe, great minds... about to go out, but decided I just had enough time to check how the poll was doing and hopefully set a date! So Sun 1st it is. Which is good cos it's one of the dates I can make! I've checked the opening hours and it's 11.30am on a Sunday. Shall we say 11.30-12 meet in the hope of getting the tarmac parking spaces? Sunday lunch anyone? If there are lots of us who do, I'll give the pub a call and make a booking. Pub is just to the east of Guildford and pretty easy to find. It's called The Queen's Head and is on the main street in East Clandon. Postcode is GU4 7RY. Hope to see lots of you there!
  9. I've just booked a 2 car driving experience which was a leaving present from my old team and manager. I have a choice of 9 cars and hopefully will be driving an F430 and a Gallardo. Really looking forward to it! Anyway, it made me wonder what cars people on here have driven, and which were their favourites. I'll go first... A few years ago I worked for Porsche, and was lucky enough to drive the entire model range (at the time it was 911 (997), Cayman, Boxster (987) and Cayenne) at Bedford Autodrome which was a fantastic day out. I've driven a few 911s and have loved them all but the Cayman impressed me as well, particularly the steering and gearshift. Whilst working there, I had a passenger ride in a Carrera GT and I remember being blown away by that car! I thought it was incredible! I'm a big Porsche fan though so I know I'm massively biased. I have also driven an R8. I hired one for 24 hours as a belated 30th birthday present to myself and what a wonderful 200 or so miles they were! I remember particularly liking the driving position and gear change, and of course the acceleration, handling and noise. The downsides were that the standard cloth seats in my Corrado are more comfortable and that I spent the next couple of days trying to put the C into 6th! As an aside, the worst car I have ever driven is a Citroen C5. My first thought on seeing the metallic yellow paint and beige velour interior was not a good one and unfortunately, this was the best part of the experience. Nor was I keen on the Seicento lent to me whilst my Scirocco was at a bodyshop. It had the strangest driving position and no amount of adjustments seemed to improve it; I kept hitting my knees on the steering column. It was better than relying on Shanks' Pony to get me down the dual carriageway me to work though!
  10. Looks very nice indeed! Hope you enjoy owning it.
  11. So many people who are interested! This could be a cracking meet with some very nice Corrados present, and owners of course!! Weekends seem to be the preference thus far, and so I have added a poll to choose the date which suits the most people. There is a maximum of 10 poll options so the choices are from Sat 17th Aug until Sun 15th Sept. I have created a poll which allows multiple options to be chosen, so please vote for all dates which suit you. I think Sean's idea of a drive afterwards is a great one, although I don't know the roads too well around there. Anyone got a suggestion? If not, we can just make something up on the day! Geoff, I also like the sound of an all VW meet in Esher, but I'm going to try to arrange this one in East Clandon to make it easier for those who live further west. I'll keep an eye out for a thread about an Esher meet though. By the way, I've included 17th and 18th Aug in the poll, but Harewood House is that weekend so perhaps not the best choice?! Maybe I should change it to include 21st and 22nd Sept instead...
  12. Hi Jochen, no, of course I don't mind! I bought mine from Classic Parts (via another member) but I think the last few were sold. I always thought how good they look too, but I only bought a set when I thought there weren't many left... I didn't want to miss out! Can't wait to get the wiring sorted out! Interesting, I didn't know they were still available. In fact, I thought I'd got one of the last 2 or 3 units! Glad that there are though, since there is obviously still demand for them! From what I remember, those look to be a reasonable price too. thank you, but no chance I'll be doing it. I'm hopeless enough with anything mechanical, but electrical stuff really is a dark art!
  13. Very, very nice! Good luck with the sale. Dog looks lovely too, not at all pesky!!
  14. Always nice to read about good progress like this!
  15. Thanks very much Jamie. I'll be sending my car to JMR for a few bits and pieces just as soon as my Jetta is back on the road, so I was planning on asking them if they would mind getting all the extra parts I need, including the pressure switch, but perhaps it would be better if I supplied what I can? Good to hear you're getting on well with the re-modding!
  16. Those brakes are looking good. I've had the calipers and carriers for 288mm for quite some time, but since the instructor at Castle Combe commented on how bad the brakes are, I think I'd better get some braided hoses and the rest of the bits, and get it all fitted sharpish! Good work on the tyres - I'm quite proud of the state mine were in afterwards too! Like the photo of the 3 cars lined up, raring to go!
  17. 4 of us is a good start, if we can find a date when we're all free! Would you prefer a weekend (in which case, Sat or Sun) or an evening after work?
  18. I trial fitted mine today (not wired in yet), so I've snapped a couple of different angles which might help. It only took me about 5 mins to fit as I just wanted to see what they look like, so I might be able to make them line up a little better, but thought it might give you a better idea.
  19. Meet to be held at The Queen's Head on Sun 1st Sept at 11.30am. Pub is just to the east of Guildford and pretty easy to find. It's on the main street in East Clandon. Postcode is GU4 7RY. Hope to see lots of you there! I recently visited The Queen's Head in East Clandon and think it's a lovely place and ideal for a meet. There are a fair few parking spaces on tarmac (overflow car park is on large stones), the food is good, the staff are friendly and the pub itself is tastefully decorated and located in a nice spot. A while ago, there were a few people interested in a meet in Surrey. Is that still the case? edit: if there are a few people interested, then I'll add a poll so we can choose the best date.
  20. I'm sure someone told me years ago that they are obsolete! At least I don't have to buy 10 of them...
  21. Not bad at all! Well done for getting on with it and making it beautiful again!
