Bump. Should be a good'un tonight. The boys have 5 grand to spend a sports saloon that's good for the shops and the track. Some good classic choices [but obviously no Rado as its a coupe :)] and Captain Slow does a power test with a couple of Porkas.
-
Not that I can actually really remember all the facts and figures but there was a bit more to it than that! Well whatever happened and whatever the cause for him to to do it was, I hope all parties involved can move on from it and be sensible. I just wanna hear about the car. :)
-
Hey dude, I didn't find anything on that, the net seems to be pretty bare about facts about it as the search keeps referring back to an airmass meter fault code, however I did find a German company who make G65s & G75s? (I think so anyway, I can't speak German and google translate doesn't want to work for that page.) http://www.roettele-racing.de/shop/themes/kategorie/index.php?kategorieid=23 and this is a german thread where they talk about them, tho again translate does an odd job. i think they are not too keen on it for some reason. Clicky Anyway, I'm sure someone (like Yan) will know about the G70.

Tres jolie. I really like the pictures under the tree with the pink blossom everywhere.

My money is on tracker. Either that or some mobile phone gubbins but I doubt it. Cut the fecker out!
-
Paying 50 quid to be shot of it may be the easiest solution, but I'd go for cutting the bugger into small pieces. Much much more fun and satisfying if its been annoying you. As said before plasma cutter will do the job and they're a hoot to use, you can write with them, cut out smiley faces etc. Or get some massive metal cutting saw like Boost Monkey did. Zzzrrrnnnnnyaaahahaha! (thats the sound of you cutting thru the metal, say it like you're a supervillan who's pleased with his plans for world domination lol)
-
Good luck getting the clips that hold it in. You might get some with the tray if you're a spawny git, but I doubt it.
-
iirc he didn't like the way the forum was modded and had a full-on rant thread about it. i think he's on vr60c now.

Could be, but surely that would be in a properly manufactured box, not some home made piece of junk. Can you trace the wire back to engine bay anywhere? (probably not having seen the mess that's behind my dash lol)
-
You got an alpine too?! Yep and both wires going to a constant live. ;) This only happened when I upgraded to a newer model Alpine tho, my 10 year old beast of CD player never did it, but I guess its got less to remember lol. I know also have a very small drain coming from the window ecu (thanks to The Trim Wizard who pointed this out when fitting the alarm). It could be worth paying a sparky for an hours work if you still have a drain afterwards....could be anything causing it.
-
So what do the wires attach to in the boot apart from the box?

Was at a friend's flat in Brixton and there was a guy there who I'd never met before. The conversation turns to cars and when I say I have a Corrado he says "is it one of the new ones?" I'm just about to correct him when he then says "oh wait that's the scirroco isn't it? the corrado's a proper classic. is it a G60?" I was pretty shocked at the self-correction and G-banger knowledge too and told him I had a VR6. "they're awesome," came the reply. "proper driver's car." Chuffed! :D

I think you geniuses have just solved the exact same problem for me. :salute:

I could well ask the same question about Oak Green Mk 2s. Its nothing special yet it seems to be so popular. No comprende senor...
-
Sweet. 8) Good to see you back on here dude, looking forward to seeing Plum getting more resto loving.

Kid on Christmas Eve?

Another one for the uprated loom and wipers. Being able to see makes a huuuuuge difference to your confidence. But if we're talking performance mods...how much you got to spend? 150 quid will get a bmc air filter good for 7 bhp (feel the powerrrrr lol). 500 quid will get you some cams and a remap worth about 20-30bhp, 2 grandish will get a 2nd hand supercharger and 110 extra bhp. turbo...mega money needed for mega power. but worth it. An ARB is an anti roll bar. You already have them at the front and the back of the car, but bigger ones can be bought and fitted. It is essentially a metal bar that sits on the subframe, attached each side somewhere (?) on the suspension and it tightens up the handling by making the car flex less through corners. They are different from strut braces as they are located at the bottom of the suspension rather than bracing across the top, but are basically the same principle.

I gave a massive thumbs up to whale-tale porsche the other day on the motorway, it was black and looked so cool and evil. i've always loved them in black since Condorman, and the guy looked really chuffed when I did it.

I've come to accept the fact that Top Gear is no longer a programme for car enthusiasts, but an entertainment programme loosely based on cars and I've been enjoying it a lot more since doing so. You're not going to learn anything particularly insightful about the cars save for price, 0-60 times and how well you can sling the back out going round a corner, but they have some gorgeous and insane supercars to drool over and the challenge section is always good for a load of amusing tomfoolery in the name of trying to find the 'best' of whatever heaps they have bought that week by using a nonsensical points system. Yeah, some part of me does want them to go back to actually doing proper roadtests, but then I think about 5th Gear and how stodgy its become. Oh and that Reliant section had me in stitches last night

I'm struggling to remember but I think there are HP filter boxes under the dash, at least I'm sure there were in my VR. They're about the size of a fag packet, with wires coming from the stereo and going to the speakers connected to terminals. I would suggest bypassing this for the door speakers to give you a bit more oomph. Try that and see how you get on, but decent bass from door speakers is not so easy as there are more than just HP filters to consider, such as the speaker itself, the seal of the pods against the doorcard, sound damping in the doors, etc. To be honest dude, its well worth amping up the fronts anyway, I've got a 50w HU and a small amp driving them and the sound quality is much better as you're not overdriving the headunit to get any volume or bass. I think there's a cheap Alpine for sale on here which is identical to what I've got.
