I'm not an expert on hub adapters, but maybe change them for 20mm or 25mm versions. FK Automotive seem to be a popular choice, however are expensive at around the £250 mark. Try phoning Dubmeister in Bristol. They told me if i i gave them my wheel sizes, offsets and what car they're for, they could find me adapters to suit.

Yep. Valvers are 136bhp standard.

Yeah, thats what i was thinking. I priced a rack up for a 1990 valver at VW Cardiff and it was £400+vat. Unfortunately though they were made obsolete 2 months ago. The motor factors are the only place you can get them now. BUMP for anybody that can answer my original question please :)
-
Thanks for the reply veedubbed. Just to clarify, i bought the rack with the part number that corresponds to a 1992 Corrado off ebay. But mine is a 1990. So does the original rack on my car have 20 splines as opposed to the 22 of a 1992 rack? Apologies if i have totally mis-read your reply! 3CORSAMEAL...Yeah i couldn't resist bidding on it on the off chance it would fit. Hence the urgent post! Could have shot myself in the foot here though!

Will a steering rack from a 1992 2.0 valver fit a 1990 1.8 valver?? A rapid reply would be GREATLY appreciated!

They're out there. I had a Mk2 J reg 1.8 Driver 2yrs ago, complete with power steering, 72k, FSH and 2 local owners, all for £795! Was a nice minty standard example which my mechanic always tried to buy off me every time it went in for a service or oil change. Ran it for 14 months, spent nowt on it apart from sevice/oil changes, then sold it to my mechanic for £800!

I wish i could lose my annoying buzzer on my valver
-
Haha!! I wish i could. On the rare occasion we do come across a nicked car we get stood down from following (pursuing) straight away. :censored: :censored: :censored: Unless we're crafty with the feedback we give :D But we do get our payback when we catch someone in the act of breaking in though!

Ever since i took my then newly acquired Rado round to a fellow car lover to show him and he said "Its a bit thin aint it"? I have always wanted to widen the front up a tad :( S'pose i shouldn't have expected anything else as he drives a late spec ZM Coupe

Just be mindful that all old cars NO MATTER HOW CR*PPY THEY LOOK (Polo's, mk1/2 Golfs, Fezza's, Escys, Nova's, Metro's etc) have the potential to attract thieving scum. Purely because they are sooooo easy to nick. Most of your common or garden thieving little turds do not possess the intellect to steal anything manufactured after 1990. Hence why they target cheap battered runarounds.

What a lovely story.

B-DUB.....it appears you have asked this question twice before if the above links are correct. Once on April fools day 2006, then again on 5th Dec 2006  Both posts attracted the same answers.....G-WERKS! :)

Very true! my G60 has a late spec body and you would not beleive how many people try to tell me my car must of been in a major front end accident as it doesnt have an early bonnet & wings! I would dearly love to do this to my car, but for the above reason alone i'm going to leave well alone.
-
Yeah. It will make the front end look a bit fatter. Just be mindful come sale time, you might get one of those annoying no it alls who will take great glee in exclaiming how non-original your ride is due to late spec parts. And no doubt waffle on to say it has been front ended.

Cheers guys. Looks like a fiddly job then :(

Can anyone else second Dave's answer before i go a dismantling?
-
Any difference on a (slow) valver would be good for me! When you say little difference Dave, is that with just the filter or airbox mods to?
-
Definitely fit a new one for all the reasons mentioned above. I think i'd break down and weep if i fitted a new dash only for the matrix to go a few weeks later!
-
Nice one. About the same price as the K&N. Will be interesting to see what difference it makes as i want to fit a uprated panel filter.
-
Crap! Did not want to hear that lol!!
-
I would like to no the answer to the original question too. Anyone?
-
Does anyone know where the oil pressure warning beeper is located on a G reg 1.8 valver? I don't want to go pulling the dash to pieces if its easily traced!
-
How much was it mate? The K&N filters on Rado's tend to give a crisper throttle response and a deeper induction note. I guess the ITG would be the same. A common mod is to drill the airbox WING SIDE ONLY and/or remove the snorkel from the front of the airbox which restricts the airflow.
-
Good luck with the diagnosis. Make sure you post up what it was in the end :)
-
I must admit i haven't mate. But then again a didn't pay particular attention to the user names of the 3 people who i was bidding on lights from. Will now though.
