  1. My rotor arm on my valver was severely 'welded' on to the shaft. There was no way it was coming off no matter how much i tried to prise it off. It actually cracked trying to get it off leaving me right in the shee-ite  In the end i had no choice but to use a sharp chisel to chip it off   it took me ages to get it off, and when i got most of it off the shaft was still covered in welded on plastic. Good to know it wasn't just mine that has been welded on :)
  2. Rotor arm? Happened on an Uno Turbo i used to own where the revs would not rise, but it also back fired and eventually broke down so not exactly the same symptoms as yours. Maybe worth checking the condition of it to see if the metal contact is healthy though.
  3. Mk1 Uno Turbo. I'll get me coat :(
  4. Cheers all, those were answers i've been looking for for ages :thumb right:
  5. Bras look good cupping together a pair of nice titties.
  6. Cheers Matt! I'm proper reluctant to be at the mercy of an auto leccy just yet as they seem to have a licence to charge whatever they want lol! If i get to the bottom of it i will let you know though :)
  7. Cool! How did you find the ride quality, was it a bone shaking or harsh, crashy ride, or a good compromise from a standard set up?
  8. Welcome to the forum Dan! And straight into VR ownership too lol!! I'm sure some of the London boys & girls will be along shortly to recommend a good garage.
  9. Yeah i tried the flashing the full beam thing a good few months back, actually posted it on the forum lol!!! I'm beginning to think maybe electrical to, as when driving today and the buzzer started, i put the dipped beam on and it cured it. Well, for a couple of mins anyway :( How much were your sensors from VW Matt? Do i just unscrew the old one and screw the new one in its place??
  10. Aye, i suppose they do for long motorway trips. I'd just rather get a few stone chips than be seen using one. Unless i wore a bag over my head or had blacked out tints so nobody could see me :D
  11. Just when i thought car bra's couldn't look any more shat, ridiculous and hideous....a company produces that poo. If people are willing to purchase that, then they'd definitely buy my all over "bodyglove" style cover lol!!!
  12. Can anyone shed any light on this problem for me? Any advice would be appreciated.
  13. Just hope everything is reversible as it looks quite a minter.
  14. My warning lamp and buzzer activate intermittently, usually after i've checked the oil level as though i have disturbed something in the dip stick. I've tried disconnecting the white sensor but the buzzer/lamp still activated, and i did the same with the brown sensor to no avail. The oil is sloshing around nicely when i take the cap off and she doesn't use any oil What i would like to know is :- 1) Why did the buzzer/lamp still go off when they were disconnected? 2) Is changing them just a case of unscrewing them and screwing a replacement in? 3) Which sensor do i need, brown or white? 4) Finally, where is best to get them? GSF, ECP or VAG? Apologies for all the questions but i'm due to drive back up North next week, and i swear i'll part ex the Rado en-route if the buzzer doesn't shut it!! :bounce2:
  15. Awesome looking rims. Be well worth the effort if you can find another 3. Can't put a price on exclusivety.
  16. Apparantly solid front mounts snap the bracket the mount screws onto because they do not have any give in them. So prob best to steer well clear of them i would have thought. This was posted here a few weeks back by someone where the only thing keeping their engine from dropping out was the oil filter which was resting on the cross member.
  17. Come and fettle with mine if you want so i can go spank that Z4 :D :D :D
  18. The torque steer on that thing must be HORRENDOUS   True, it is only a Corsa when all said and done, but i would have given anything to have been behind the wheel of it today at a set of traffic lights where a Z4 driven by a shiny barsteward with dolled up missus next to him, used the right hand lane to cut in front of me. Worst part of it was sitting there waiting for the lights to change knowing full well i couldn't even try coz i'd get spanked. Valvers can't pull the skin off a rice pudd'n. Would love to see the look on his face spanking him with an L reg Corsa
  19. I wouldn't mind knowing if anybody has tried that jamex kit too. Some folk don't expect to much from a set up such as that, just a lower ride height, slightly better handling and a decent ride would make me happy.
  20. I'm no expert, but try running it on high octane fuel such as shell V-Power, BP Ultimate etc to see if that helps. 1.8 valvers should be run on 98 RON petrol (according to the handbook & petrol flap) not the 95 RON of regular unleaded. Some 1.8's run happy on regular unleaded, but some don't. Give it a whirl though, but make sure you have a near empty tank so its not mixing to much with the regular fuel.
  21. Aye, me neither. I'd love a quick blat in a Vr to see what they feel like.
  22. Just sorn'd the Escort this morn and it was a doddle, and saved a stamp too :) Will defo try the online taxing method this time.
