not had a valve but if its similar to G60 on gearing then this is what i think id guess at late 7 early 8 for a std car. probly a second less for non std. tis the gearing. need 3 to get to 60 and 1st is awful. probly better from a second gear start. take him on from 50 n see what happens. a metro GTi will stick with a G60 till 50 ish after that they look like the 2 different cars they are.

strip it down. remove boost hose to intercooler loosen boost hose to throttle body so it can be moved. disconnect at throttle body black res box on charger. radiator. either 2 bolts on top of rad or spring clip to centre of head. bottom rad hose joining to metal pipe(under car) radiator. it has 2 wind deflectors on it. they come out from front. remove headlamps and grill. loads of room then. tis hard to see let alone work on with everything in.

the cooler kit should contain a sandwich plate. this replaces the existing cooler. you need a pipe from a non cooler golf or something this will bypass the cooler area and is a std part so fits properly. the cooler will fit but its tight. the std mk1 type thing wont fit with a u-bend or plastic box.

Yesterday i installed my new front mount. i wil post some pictures later on to show what i put on as i couldn't take piccies as i went as i was covered in oil and sh*t. the previous setup was the standard one and i envisaged that i would use the eurpsport pipes i have. i couldn't fit um right so i used others. the hardest bit wa the u bend side piping. first up i stripped all the old setup out and the rad. fitting the u bend was easy as i had all the vw bits. requires a u-bend, gasket and 2 bolts. cost 100 the core was sourced from e bay 600 x 150 x 40 (ish) endtanks are alloy and the in/out are 51mm (2inch) cost 80 to connect it i used 2 reducers by samco one 51>57(out) the other 51>76 (in). the u-bend outlet is huge at 3 inch. cost 30 the rest of the piping was made up of the following. cut original out boost tube using top for co pot and bottom 3 inch for connection with bend. connecting these is the res box to in tube pipe. tis all fairly neat and as a first gen effort im happy. i can now have appropiate pips made if i wish to simplify things and clean it up even more. problems. this job took around 6 hours to do. radiator issues. im definately getting a smaller fan (thickness) to help with installl removal of rad. the rad isn't sat quite where it should be. tis about 1/2 inch out. need to make some brackets for it or adjust the connections but im happy with those. may find a new rad somewhere that is slightly thicker n a inch shorter with a proper fan on the back. power steering issues. i hear u say what??? the pipe on the passenger side that goes to the front for cooling had no clip on it. didn't notice. when putting rad in i must have cought it and loosened it. i drove out of the garage ok. next time i start her she makes a racket. easy to fix but pain in the rarse at 11pm on a sunday. first impressions. too early to say. tis v hot today as was yesterday. slightly higher water temps maybe. im on that "testing stage" to where you dont put your foot down properly for a bit. ill check it when i do the pictures later. i am still on a std boost n that so this IC eats it a little more than the last. on a side note. i fixed a water leak at the black temp sensor as well. check the o-rings under each switch peeps n see what condition they are in. mine were like mush.

im not in CCGB so... if we could get 5 cars n a banner i reckon it would be worth it. may join soon. probly about time i did. anybody from the south attend this show or is the usual of northern folk travel south but southners dont travel north. miss a good show too.

what best bet on a box. You can buy 6 speed or a different 5 speed. Anyone done this. either. was thinking if my box died i may look for a VR box n have the gearset changed over. is this possible. will it work. does it cost lots. a few vortexers seem to have changed stuff.

thats similar to what mike said. he said that if you can get enough cool water then tis not a bad solution. problem is a water res is a heat sink so this isn't wanted unless icing it n i wont be doing that. so basically the rad has to be uber big and efficient and not to obstructive on the engine rad i thought the following. if i need to mount a BIG rad i may as well mount a front mount IC 10 extra kilos or so stapped right on the front of my car. costings for this will be more than a front mount. has cost me around 200 quid to put my front mount kit together. would have cost more for the chargecooler system

sh*t gear ratios on a G60 mate. same here. i raced a new bmw 323 yesterday. first gear he left me-i panicked, thought he maybe a 330 or somethink the all of a sudden get catapulted past him by 3rd gear.

in an ideal world we would have a loop type thing but it aint. unless you use a water cooler n that aint too efficient according to jabba. they dont sell um anymore. id trust their judgement on stuff other than chips when id go SNS

for those who dont know. there is a intercooler on ebay, a pace item that is dual pass. probly the most ideal IC for a G60 corrado ive ever seen. no need for u-bend.
-
condition isn't the most important bit. enjoying and taking part. theres always gonna be better and worse. mines no prize winner. these are aging cars. sure weve seen whats on the corrado club stand before now. they vary dont they. if we get some numbers it would be good. otherwise im in the carpark too.

People. Whos going to tatton park for VW Northwest. I know ill be there as i am most years. Anyone fancy putting a corrado forum stand together. Not sure if people go from this forum but its not a bad little show. Believe you pay standard admission but have to have a plot booked in advance. For thouse who dont know Tatton park is just off J19 of the M6 towards the m56. it has a web page http://www.vwnw.co.uk

tap into the lavinder wire. its the right hand one isolated from the other 3 on the loom side go up the loom a bit into the more isolated part so its easy and away from heat. ont the probe side there is one wire going to the engine mount bracket-earth. connect earth to here. live to ignition
-
easiest was is remove the rad. tis the fan n surround that gets in the way. the you can get to the mount. loosent eh bottom 2 bots and the top nut. jack the engine up a tad n remove the bolts. slide the old mount out n put a new vibra or volkspeed mount in there

i have bently. it is good. not like a haynes as in the it isn't as detailed in the processes but it does contain all the info. with the cars being LHD the book details some things different too.

kits are kinda thin on the ground. its a matter of getting a core and getting it to fit. decide on pipe routing-will it be a single or dual pass IC. obviously a dial pass will allow std pipe routing to an extent. a u bend will be needed for single pass or custom end tanks and piping. what size in and out of intercooler- are reducers needed. can air flow to it alright with a std bumper. You probly could just go n buy a full golf G60 setup-u bend, piping, ic etc but this would be expensive as u-bends and golf front mounts are rare.

im in the process of doing a front mount. awaiting a few more bits. got rallye u-bend 3-2in reducer 600mmx180mmx45mm FMIC 2-2.25 reducer Eurosport intake pipe from IC to TB not sure if thats all ill need. know i need a few bits like flanges n that for the charger to mount the u bend but almost there. hoping itll be mre efficient. had to cut a slight bit away so that i can mount it properly. not modded the bumper. tis rifght at the bottom below the number plate so should get air.
-
bet you could get quite a few quid or dollors or whatever for a rallye or euro spec VR6 corrado

i have this too. appeared after inters. strange. dont always feel it. whenits there though its like clunk, cluck, clunk only whe driving like 10mph n slowing though. I thought it may be the bushes on my car. not sure though n its hard to tell without replacing n see. Will check the vibration damper n have a look aruond on mine too.
