  1. I emailed them and thet track is going to be swept the only thing is its a little dusty. In preparation ive made a homemade tripod that sits between the two seats for my camera to sit on to take videos. see link for a quick pracice run down the lanes.
  2. Hi ive just booked myself onto a very special track day at bovington tank training ground. It cost £125 and all money will go to help the heros charity. Just under 7miles of smooth tarmac i will try and take pics and videos on the day and post them up after the event. http://www.mazdaontrack.co.uk/help-for- ... t-26-c.asp
  3. ok heres a few pics of jons vr6 i gave it a quick going over while at DG autotech there was a few bad scratches from the bodyshop by the looks of it. It came up ok though nice colour, gave the two front wheels a quick going over too,i bet he thought all he's christmases came at once. Enjoy mate :D
  4. took front wheels off cleaned with billberry wheel cleaner and finished off with rim wax. polished uner arches wishbones, driveshafts, subframe etc polished gearbox and a little of the tunnel. took rear wheels off sent to lepsons to get refurbed Went and got a mdf rear parcel shelf made from my local timber yard ready for a set of 16cm component speakers.
  5. a blue storm (j100 pus) lady driver went passed me at set of traffic ligths in stratford upon avon today dont know if she is on here,i also caught a clims of the back end of one on the way there at some offices on the outskirts.
  6. hi my mate was selling this today went within 2 hours of posting has anyone on here brought it?The parts alone are worth it. http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1005134.htm
  7. yes just srippped and rebuilt over winter had head new head gasket, water pump, pas pump.etc http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... 11&t=75194
  8. this is what it look like when the charger and alternator is off, the clips for the hoses are a real git to undo especially when you only got mole grips. The charget bracket slides off those 4 long bolts.
  9. you dont need to do any of that with the charger belt as that drives the water pump not thr pas pump.if you want your water pump off then your charger needs coming off a pain job just follow the instuctions above and look at the pics to help.
  10. OK first undo the bolts to slacken the belt, they are on the left hand side bracket thats attached to the side of the block.(pic 1) Then undo the two 13mm nuts on the other side you will see one but the other in inside the bracket so you may need a extension bar. Then take the headlight out and the last bolt is on the charger bracket to the left (its the black one on pic 3) It should drop out now if not slacken the 3 bolts on the support bracket that holds the pump, it will come off with one bracket still attached and 3 bolts in it. Remember to undo the hoses while all the bolts are tighten as it may be stiff, and its heavy. These are obsolete now and specific to the g60 try arz tuning or german ebay. Hope this helps.
  11. not sure to be honest getting to technical now.
  12. ok took my car on the rollers the other day after the rebuild and it only made 167hp the guy said it dies at 4400rpm. it made 194hp last year with a 70mm pulley and a standard head. I was a bit unsure of him the old git cause he strapped it down did one run didnt even put the fan in front of it,and charged me £35 . I looked at the timing today and all seems ok why would it be that much down on power? When im driving it seem quicker than before, and i did yandards set up procedure so should be ok. :?
  13. Ok spoke to zircotec who did my manifold and heres the reply. Pricing for Corrado cast manifolds are as follows; 4 cylinder - £120 for Performance White; £138 for any from our Performance Colours range 6 cylinder - £240 for white; £276 for Colour. Should a group of Corrado club members wish to have our coating, we will offer a 10% discount for a bulk order of 10 manifolds.
  14. nice work bruny, the gear box turned out ok i like the vw stamp on the bottom of the box,was that only on vr6's. I better get cleaning for stanford its a lot harder when the engines in the car and a trolley jack,I dont think ill get the damage done by then and still waiting to get the wheels refurbed at lepsons.
  15. ok what i want to know is why they changed the shift mechanism on the later cars and added a host of other parts. They put the cables ontop of each other the shift relays and throw lever were changed and a carrier added. My g60 is nice and smooth and shifts better without the weight on. All i want to do is shorten the throw now.
  16. how much do you think a a g60 weighs im interesed in this topic as i want to take the car to a weigh bridge to see how heavy it is with me in. So then i can work out my power to weight. I also want to get each corner weighed to see the distribution.
  17. Few more updates had ago at crazy daves car a fair few scratches on the bonnet but got most of them out and looked really good at UD especially under those lights.
  18. The car is having trouble starting, but been out for a run and seems ok and quick low down but loud. Need to take it to jabba to get set up and mapped,i was nervous when it first started had a squeking and the cam belt tensioner was on the wrong way round.(no names but it was not me or pete) also having trouble with the oil pressure buzzer coming on,checked the oil level and ok maybe over full but oil coming out of rocker cover so its circulating.
  19. OK the the corrado back on the road,a big thanks to crazy dave and pete-griff for helping me way into the night.
  20. well ill let you know how i get on,zircotec never said anything about cracking they said it will help against corrosion. If it good enough for the lambo reventon, pagani zonda r,lichfield imports,Koenigsegg's CCX supercar etc i think my little g60 will be ok. This technology also help the space shuttle survive re entry back to earth now thats hot.
  21. it is on the g60 as one i cant heat wrap it and two it will stop heat soak into the inlet as its sits on top, and hopefully more hp. It will also keep the engine bay a little cooler.
  22. PLASMA-SPRAY PROCESSING General Plasma Spray Processing - Plasma-spray processing is a relatively specialised high temperature industrial process that utilises an electrically generated plasma to heat and melt the feedstock material. The process is capital intensive and requires significant electrical power. It offers a method of depositing a feedstock material (the material that is being plasma-sprayed) as a solid coating over an underlying target material. It can also be used to produce free standing parts made from just the plasma-sprayed material. Deposits having a thickness from just a few micrometers (µm) up to several millimeters can be produced using a variety of feedstock materials, including metals and ceramics. The feedstock material is normally presented to the plasma torch in the form of a powder or wire. This feedstock melts rapidly within the plasma torch, where the typical operating temperature is ~10,000oC (18,000oF). It is then propelled as small molten droplets via a carrier gas towards the target material. When the molten droplets contact the target material they flatten, rapidly solidify to form a deposit that remains adhered to the target material. There are a large number of parameters that influence the interaction of the feedstock with the plasma jet and the substrate, and these parameters can lead to wide variations in the final product and product quality. These parameters include feedstock type and composition, feed rate, plasma gas composition and flow rate, energy input, torch geometry, nozzle design, nozzle offset distance, substrate cooling, etc. The plasma-sprayed deposits consist of a multitude of pancake-like 'splats', formed by flattening of the liquid droplets. As the feedstock powders typically have sizes from micrometers to above 100 micrometers, the splats have thickness in the micrometer range and lateral dimension up to hundreds of micrometers. Small voids occur between the splats thereby trapping either air or the carrier gas whilst the splats cool rapidly leading to quite rapid crystallisation and large grain size. It is also possible for the deposited material to exist in metastable phases due to rapid cooling (i.e. crystalline structures that would normally only occur at very high temperature). Small micro-cracks and regions of incomplete bonding can also occur under certain plasma-spray conditions. The deposited material can therefore have properties that are significantly different from the bulk feedstock materials, eg. lower strength, higher strain thermal and electrical conductivity. By controlling plasma-spray parameters it is possible to control and make use of these changed material properties to suit specific applications. This technique is mostly used to produce coatings on structural materials. It can be used to provide protection against high temperatures, corrosion, erosion and wear, or to change the appearance, electrical or tribological properties of the surface. The technique can also be used to replace worn material. Free standing parts in the form of plates, tubes, shells, etc. can be produced. The technique can also be used for powder processing (spheroidisation, homogenisation, modification of chemistry, etc.). In this case, the substrate for deposition is absent and the particles solidify during flight or in a controlled environment such as water. Now see Zircotec's Plasma-Spray Process Alternatively, to return to our Home Page Click Here.
  23. Just send them what you want spraying and they do it within 10 days, its blasted on at around 1000c and is about 3 microns thick, if any one has this months evo with the zonda r check the standard white coating on that. they do turbo housings too and say they spool up 400 rpm quicker. I think it was around £200 ish for my manifold a vr6 would be around £300 but if there was enough interest i may be able to get a little discount as a forum/club.
  24. What about this a votex steering wheel italian made,it was on my g60 when i brought it but swapped it thinking it was not standard. After looking through a few german brochures i think it was a optional extra and their were a few new ones on ebay a while ago £100 each.
  25. Spend the extra money and go for this from zircotec a thermal plasma coating no hassle and looks good to. Around 50% reduction in under bonnet temps from tests done at mira.
