  1. whats the fluid like? if its all black and horrible could be this, i had real issues with my valver when i first bought it, sturrlged to get gears etc, flushd all the brakes out and cluth out with fresh fluid and its been fine since! 2months and counting mate. im doing a vr6 conversion soon so i was looking for a cheap fix but this has seemd to cure it,

  3. ive never ever ever had issues with the jubile clips cutting into pipes, when i do my engine conversion (done a fair few in mk1 golfs) i awlays renew the the old vw clips with stainless ones, a good quality jubilee clip you cant go wrong with, either you didnt tighten it properly mate and it came loose or you have pressure issues in the cooling system. did u tighten it too much and it stripd the thread on the jubilee clip?
  4. right, im going to be getting the engine soon and want to do the research on to what parts etc to buy, im looking at putting new chains and tensioners and guides on aswell as head gasket etc, can i buy the locking tools? and is there any guides on how to tim them up? i have autodata but it doesnt give you a good guide it just shows a few pics thats it. also once its all timed up etc is it just a case of flciking the key to start it or any precodure to prime the system with oil first? do i have to prime the chain tensioners somehow? i wouldnt mind putting cams in whilst im there but any good websites? groupbuys coming up within a month or so? engine has done 133,000 miles, might get the head looked at whilst its of. any info and links to sites would be gladly appreciated, had a flick thought the searchs but couldnt find a great deal, and the wiki is down at the mo. cheers guys simon
  5. the plastic bit is a restrictor you use on the vr6's, you pop it inside one of the pipes aparently, upto you if you want to chuck it or not,
  6. also have you changed a fuel filter recnelty? if not might be worth changing as it could be ful starvation, and check the wires on the fuel pump mate.
  7. sounds likes your losing the spark check all terminals on the coil are tight and not lose, check all earth straps and battery teminals, bad earths play dodgy tricks like something chronic
  8. i got 16" borbets on will them seat ones fit straight on to the hubs with no brackets needed? and wil they fit under 16" rims?
  9. ok cool, only need to fit the rears as my handbrake locks on when i use it, so was going to make sure these are all freed of and re seal them then put these on, fronts i want to uprate a bit as im doing a vr6 turbo conversion soon in my valver. so i need to use the g60 brake discs, what pads do i use? also what rear pads do i use? and what rear discs do i use? or does it depend on what calipers they are.

  11. i have a complete mk3 vr6 golf im breaking and want to fit all the brakes of that onto the valver i have, my rear calipers are seized up on mine and the handbrake locks on if i use it. can i simply swop them over? can i use the same handbrake cables? what discs do i need for front and back as i want to retain 4stud due to my wheels. cheers simon also do the fronts fit straight on?
  12. if ones worse then the other replace them mate, will make the car feal loads better, regarding the rack issue, if its power steering they sometimes have play in them anyway when off, as when its running the fluid takes up the play, you will know if you have play in the track rod end mate shake the wheel left to right jackd up, if theres play then replace, check bottom ball joints when jackd up, get a bar inbetwen the hub and lower arm and pry on it, this will give dodgy steering issues, also check the rear arm mounts where it bolts into the subframe at the back these give sloppy steering to, let us know how u get on.
  13. pink stuff is long life stuff, i belive the normal anti freeze needs changing after 2 years where the pink stuff is 5? someone correct me if im wrong? but tbh who keeps there coolent in for 5 years? if you get a hole in a pipe or radiater then you change it again anyway, antifreeze is antifreeze mate, just remember its got to be changed after 2years if you cont change it before.
  14. right, ive searchd through the forum but it brings up tooooo many pages about abf lumps etc and i cudnt find a definet answer to my question. i have a 2l 16v corrado, on a 1991 J plate, im after the ABF engine to go into the car as i like the engines, i want to run it on the abf managment, does it plug and play into the back of the corrados fusebox? or is there major wiring to sort out, chears also any other fittting issues from people who have done it?
  15. any ideas? i ave no power at the heater resister, no power at the heater switch, and no power at the fuse box for fuse 6, all other fuses are ok, any one had this before?
  16. yup alll the fuses are ok, puld every one out and checkd them. think im going to rip the whole dash out tomz anyway as all the heating box and arm where the motor sits in is damaged where the previous owner has butcherd it
  17. blower inop is not working, checkd fuse and no power, not blown either, if i power the motor up it spins fine and no noises, anyone had any issues like this? no power at the switch either?
  18. yea lol boot systems gone right away, not my thing been there done that, aslong as ive got a little bit of music to keep me entertained whilst im driving, im the sort of person to uprate the standerd speakers to make it discret just to give you that litle bit more sound quality. got to sort a warm start issue out, once running its spot on, just when its left for a few hours it coughs and splutters on 3 cylinders for a brief scond or so the ok, think its the sart of leaking injectors. but should be sorted soon.

  21. hey all, back again, had a g60 before and loved every minute of the car, but sadly had to get rid due to money issues. now after having various makes of cars.... peugeots, toyota cleica imports etc and mk1 golfs, i thought id get back into the flow with the corrado. pickd this little beauty up last night, few little nigly bits to sort and im starting of by ripping the sound system out as its to much for me.... forsale if anyones intrested? anyway its white with a 2litre 16valver to get me back into the swing of things, always been tempted with a 20v tubba but we shall see. borbet A's de badged grill lowerd alarm few little bits, leccy recaro's and exhaust.
  22. i have a raceland decat for sale im getting rid of my g60 and cant be botherd to put it back on, it was only o for a week then i removed it to check the lambda sensor was working correctly for the mot then was going to put it back on and as i have to sell the g60 due to funds and girlfriend nagging i have to save money. simon
  23. just rang my local stealer to get a price on the front engine mount he quoted £104.07p PLUS VAT! i bout had a heart attack, looks like im going for the solid engine mount, i didnt fancy going for this due to the excessive vibrations through the dash, has anybody got one of these? whats the vibrations like? simon
  24. front engine mount? this would cause poor gear change. simon
