450 is not bad at all mate, my first year of insurance post install was atleast 800! But I was a bit younger then :) it's steadily come down year on year. You will need to keep going less than 350 is your new target
-
That is ludicrous Jim, however I must admit when it was first turbo'd there was a few occasions where I was told there wasn't anything they could do. One or two of those I had even contacted prior to having it done! Like you say some of these specialist insurers are not worth the price of the phone call. I absolutely despise the whole industry primarily as there is no consistency in it whatsoever.

Yea I was certainly happy at renewal time for once! :D I am only with Flux as I normally play them off against HIC but this time the made me an offer I couldn't refuse so I switched there and then same company basically anyway
-
Hi Jamie, I am around the West Byfleet area bout half an hour down the road
-
Great stuff, how much for the premium tho? :) I have tried em all but only seemed to get a decent offer from HIC/Adrian Flux I am less than £1 per bhp now :D
-
Haha I like the accidentally part of it :) like you just tripped and fell into the seat while walking past
-
Your car is so tidy it deserves one :) it got my vote anyway, really nice motor mate Do it, if you need further convincing I am not a million miles away :)
-
:) bodes well for a continental trip doesn't it
-
Reliable as any car really :) I use it daily and haven't had too much by way of issues. No car is ever perfect but its just as reliable now as it was NA. Its credit to Vince and how he has gone about mapping and developing the kit. Mine was done back in 2010 and since has seen lots of miles around 30K iirc wouldnt change it for the world :)

Thanks mate :D I am just happy it's running well, apart from my shot isv that is anyway!
-
Made my day :) I was bit starstruck to have redborbet from the forum in my car :D
-

Hey mate, Have used HIC for mine for the last 4 years of boost. Always a good price and service, to begin was 500-600 when I was younger (25 :)) and now less than 400 IIRC with all mods declared and 400bhp. Just going through the agreed valuation since the paint has now been sorted. When is yours in to southam's finest? I am up at the end of the month for a service and MOT
-
Thanks fellas, looking forward to getting to national day next time Chris and seeing both yours also, may try and see if I can get to one of the last few shows of this year. Managed to get some better pics today just before the light went

I know what's worse is I had to buy the replacement set for him, felt sick for quite some time, Thanks bud, so glad to be back :) shame as I always seem to miss the best of summer for one reason or another though, need to get the wheels refurbed next and so on....
-
Was just over 2 and a half months in total, was pretty slow due to it being just him and hitting lots of sticking points along the way. Needless to say his not a fan of the Corrado anymore
-
Thanks Sean. I am just glad its finally done, worst part was when we discovered my brand new scraper seals had been chucked away! They came from classic parts in a cardboard tube which must have been taken out and put in the wrong place and assumed to be rubbish :( that was s costly mistake for him anyway.

Well after what seems like a lifetime my car is finally all back together again, but now with new paint :D bar some minor niggles I am very happy with all the work that has been done. I will try and put up some better pics before it gets too dirty if the weather stays clear. Biggest result was definitely the replacement windscreen managed to get a green top tint privately fitted (and well) for £235. After all the horror stories it was such a relief to see it done right and after todays rain not to be swimming in condensation or getting wet feet. Very very glad to be back in a Corrado again,

Sounds like a good idea, look forward to seeing a finished product

Have you considered making a lens that covers both fog and indicator then using some clear adhesive tabs to secure them to the front of the glass in the corners? Not sure if there is a better way to fix to the car but I was planning on doing something along these lines, I would be happy with anything really, just no more broken fogs or indicators! :D
-
Excellent work as always Nick, well done on the win and good call for the gearset the boxes are surprisingly strong, I am still waiting for mine to go bang to justify the rebuild 25K turbo miles later still feels good through them all and it's 160K old! Finally :) Good to hear Chris you will only regret it for the time it takes to pay, by this time you have driven your own turbo vr6 and are already hooked anyway!

Not entirely sure will find out what he is planning to do. I know he wanted to take the doors off for prep until I explained the loom situation I.e no multiplug :) is it easier to paint or do you get a better finish on them when they are off?
-
Thanks Guys, has been a long wait to get it going as I have had to acquire all the bits including new scraper seals and my paint guy has been busy on other jobs. Happy with the attention he is giving it now anyway, looking forward to seeing the end results.
