  4. Hey Arif, Yep all fwd, yea will have to meet up again on a sunny day sometime to compare noises, u going to the ccgb national day at Brooklands?
  5. Hey Arif, Well it has been at 409 but due to overheating and inconsistent tourque figures this has been brought down to only 350bhp :) with a few more miles on it and some more time I will get the boost controller back on and map setup hopefully then it will behave a bit better with the power, glad you liked it I wasn't expecting the amount of wheelspin I had though will have to take you out on a dry day for more post doughnut fun
  6. White VR (I think) heading in the opposite way on Parvis road coming from West Byfleet, think it may have been the one from Weybridge djmac? Looking nice either way

Cheers Matt

  10. Cheers Andy, yea I followed your advice on the CP upgrade, 4" MAF and housing along with the Custom exhaust i originally wanted finally :) been much better since scrapping the old MAF just need it back now so I can enjoy it again feels like its been off boost forever!
  11. Thought would give a brief update on the rollercoaster ride that is my car. Took it back last year as it kept fouling up plugs on cyl 1, been there before many times before so I though valve seal or something but was never expecting a washed out bore :( I think related to the Schimmel water injection system. So had two options available, oversize the rings and be at the largest tolerance possible for my pistons and block or oversize the bore and go for bigger forged pistons with another new bottom end rebuild :) Naturally I went the forged low comp route and have just dropped the car back, following a few thousand painful miles of running in, for a remap and will be looking to have it back within the next week, really looking forward to driving it again finally after almost a year out of it being out of action. Preliminary mapping figures are showing around 409bhp however Vince is currently adding a layered head gasket to lower the compression further to help with the mapping as the torque figure is a bit down and timing advance is also not quite right. Fingers crossed this all goes well!
  12. This sounds good, couple of questions, how long do you get to return the old shifter mech or could I keep it for the £50? And do you have any details of how involved the swap is or info on level of competence required? I am not sure if i wanna give it a try myself just in case i mess it up :) Thanks Matt
  13. Sorry Dave but I didntget any PM or payment details could you send them again? Thanks Matt

    3.0ltr vr

Same here just makes me think I should have not bothered and just bought the MK3 Complete car and saved an absolute fortune! Especially after spending an afternoon watching the care and time spent in just making part of the boost pipework its clearly been very well built.

Alternatively check the classifieds on here under parts there is a Jon Malik special from Stealth and his latest project engine going for 4.5K, it's worth double that if you cost in labour to build it etc

Got a set now thanks to g60knight!
  18. Not sure if you have asked him yet but Vince should have a few of these knocking around. He converted mine to later type maf and put it in a 4" housing couple of weeks ago.

    WTD VR6 Clocks

Thanks both for the replies, unfortunately I have read how much of a pain and expense it is to correct the mileage and as such I need it the same as the current if not over, I have previously bought another set of clocks and swapped the fuel gauge part which didn't resolve the prob and having just done a complete cluster swap with another have managed to get the gauge working again, Thanks again for the offers Matt
