New series of TOP GEAR Sundays. Series Comments

 My corrado is called Geoff!! Prob shouldn't of owned up to that :cuckoo: -
After reading that thread - I immediately cancelled my R35 order! The prices do seem over inflated, but then IMO Nissan prices are stupid. The cost of parts for the 200SX is just mad. It makes VW look very very reasonable. Personally with my job i've dealt with a few pedestrian impact systems going off. And the most it's cost a customer is around £3500, and thats Jaguar prices which I always thinks is too expensive, but then most get their insurance to pay. Not one of them have needed the ecu changed but then they are 2 completely different brands, so maybe Nissan in their money making meeting decided to have a one use ecu?! I'm just glad this forum isn't like theirs - there seems to be a lot of resentment towards the R35 drivers from the older model owners and vice versa. Can you imagine if it was like that on here? you're not worthy unless you have a VR6. :brickwall: Anyway my 2p  Laura

So today it went to DG Autotech.......... and the list wasn't that bad! But there is some fuel saver device of some description on it :cuckoo: and the vacuum hoses were apparently all over the place and the timing advance is set at 10 degrees rather 6 degrees. So if there are any previous owners of this car on here - can you let me know what happened? It's going back in on Friday to have new injectors, HT Leads and a few other things. It already feels like a new car with the small things that have been done

Hehe thats mine. Go for black alloys - do it! (i'm not biased of course! )
-
Thanks guys!! really appreciate the nice comments! :D I love it but then it is my car - a long way to go to make it perfect (but i don't think it will ever be that as it's my daily driver and 20 years old in January!)
-
Quick Update Ok so nothing really amazing - but 'ta dah' it now has a new passenger wing mirror and a wing mirror switch! Good Times :D Also on a side Note it's booked in at DG Autotech next week to have a look at its over zealous fuel useage! It's also not liking the cold starts at the moment. I've never looked so forward to a car going in to a garage before! :cuckoo: Anyhoo still saving for it's paint job.

Saw a black corrado near the ferrari museum in Modena - Anyone? Didn't see what it was and couldn't tell the age (don't understand italian plates) Oh well I was more impressed with that then the Ferrari's! :cuckoo:

Temper Trap's album is well worth a listen. Also Listening to the Yeah Yeah Yeah's new album (can't remember the name) at the moment. As I share lifts to work can't have it on that loud :(

Hi All Other half has bought a B5 Passat as a daily, and wants to check it over for any faults, is there anyone local to CV8 or Cirecenster that could oblige. He thinks it's down on power, i've tried to tell him it just slow but he won't accept it! Cheers Laura

Red corrado not sure of flavour or reg, was coming out of the car park at Jaguar. Was a few cars behind so couldn't flash my lights!
-
not great chufties but got a thumbs up from a old modded civic. And then got a wolf whistle from 2 blokes in a focus ST, I was driving at the time, They obv appreciated the car!
-
it's called the Richmod after a guy called rich. It tunes the standard 120 bhp to the 170bhp. The story goes that the engine was orignally tuned by Porsche, but Volvo thought it was to quick so they de-tuned it ( :cuckoo: ). Hence so much power can be unlocked by the Richmod.
-
well we've had 2 480 Turbos. I wouldn't agree with them being slow once they have they have had the 'secret' mod done to them. I really enjoyed driving them. You think Corrado's can be unreliable, own 2 480's at the same time :cuckoo: Engine out just to replace the clutch! Both were pushing about 170BHP and weigh about 1045KG - so not too shabby :)
-
No don't think E38 is really my thing. Not really into all that 'scene' stuff lol.
-
Thanks for the nice comments. It photographs well  Yeah i love the black alloys - I have thought about borbet A's but you don't see to many corrados with black seabrings so will keep it like that for now. Well i'm off to the Coventry festival of Motoring tomorrow - my foray into meeting other corrado owners.
-
Ok this is my car, i've had it about 4 months now. It's pretty much standard apart from being lowered slightly - no front splitter on it because of this, I can't get over the speed bumps or on our drive. Needs a respray ideally but need to save the penny's for that. :) A few pics - Hope you like
-
Made it all shiny, for once it is cleaner than the other halfs car. nothing that exciting but I haven't had much love for it with it's 'issues' with the power steering. Which fingers crossed (is there a smiley for that - i think there should be) Are now all resolved. ...... Goes off to stare at shiny Corrado
-
Blackberry Vr6 'N reg' In Kenilworth outside a chippy - looked very nice :) although parked on double yellows naughty naughty! Wasn't in a corrado as mine was briefly back on the road for a whole 26 miles before breaking down again. :( Anyway was nice to finally spot one in the area- there seems to be lots of people on here that are from the area but i think you all have invisible cloaks as I never see you! haha

Do you ever get the feeling that your car hates you?
lauraJ replied to lauraJ's topic in General Car Chat
No not good at all!! I guess it's one of those things though. Just glad it happened fairly close to home! Small mercy's and all that :? -

oh yes it had to happen again on a rainy day didn't it!! Had to be recovered - the shame! :( -
Right, my paintwork is quite bad. It looks like it's had a little too much polishing on the lines of the car, the red paint look likes it has been polished through. So when you look at the car it looks like there is white lines on some of the bodywork. I really don't want to spend shed loads of cash for a respray as I planning to 'upgrade' to a VR6 before the year ends. But at the moment it's looking a bit sorry for itself. What other options are there? I think a touch up stick wouldn't work as some of the areas are quite long. Any ideas would be great. Thanks Laura

Black K reg not sure what type in Gotherington (sp) you got a light flash and a wave from us, we were in the damson 200SX on the way back from Prescott hill climb. Which on another note was really good fun - maybe we could arrange a corrado one? Although as I understand Prescott gets booked quite early. Although I'm sure there is one around Coventry way??

Whats the best MPG anyones had out of a Corrado?
lauraJ replied to Pat_McCrotch's topic in General Car Chat
As hard as I try to get decent MPG (not very) the best i've got is 30.7! Generally on the way to work etc around 20 -25MPG. But hey i didn't buy the car for it's fuel economy - so doesn't really bother me too much! :D -
Spotted a Silver VR6 on the A429 towards Wellsbourne way - I didn't actually see you as I was marvelling at my MPG (30.4 the highest i've ever got out of it!) so didn't wave but the other half spotted you. Sorry for the lack of wave if it was anyone on here!?
