  1. if you took out Mike Brewer it would be watchable. He absolutely grates on me, also he told me to be quiet once which I didn't appreciate! Just have Ed on the whole programme!
  2. Hang on since when did this forum tar everyone with same brush?? If we are going to go gender specific I can give you lots of examples of men doing completely dickish driving on the roads...... are we going to start this line of conversation??
  3. My other half has a 200sx 14a, i personally love it! Had lots of fun driving it round anglesey :) I was using it as a daily whilst the 'rado was off the road, they're a comfortable place to be in and standard have more than enough grunt, my 16v felt a tad slow after driving that for a few months! Very cheap to extract more power, new exhaust, air filter and fuel pump and you'll see another 40bhp. However it's not a sports car, remember it's a grand tourer, but with a few mods it's more than capable! The sxoc is a really good club and have a great forum, with lots of knowledgeable people (much like this forum!) I would recommend looking on the sxoc forum as there are buying guides, or pm my other half on this forum (cunningly named mr_lauraj) and he can point you in the right direction!
  4. Ha well as I know the owners I thought that all parties wouldn't mind! It just made me laugh how they were facing each other!! Your VR makes mine look so shabby though! Lol
  5. Spotted: Germany vs Japan morning bout!! Lol
  6. It's going really well, i've done over 450 miles in the last few weeks. I now have a straight steering wheel!!!! Yes parked on the road now as i'm a bit lazy to try and get it on drive way perfectly straight without scrapping it on our driveway! We're moving in a few weeks (still in Kenilworth) so will have to keep an eye out for you! Yes when your VR was parked on the road and we were going out, I was just staring at it! Such a nice example! Very jealous
  7. Hmm... Well I always wait for the lights to stop flashing when the ignition is turned before I press the button to start Geoff (I also say a little pray to car gods) Listen out for any unusual noises Switch to oil until it's on 90ish then switch it to the time, I don't want to depress myself with the mpg. Then I'm on the look out for pot holes that will break my back! I suppose my weirdest one is that when I have done an over take or had a nice little run, I stroke the dashboard and tell geoffers what a good car it is! Lol......... And to think my mum tells me to get a 'good' car ( read new soul less car)
  8. Mines quite thirsty on the fuel, i've had new injectors and the fuelling set up by DG Autotech. I get just over 30 mpg on my trip to work which is A46/M40 at about 70- 80 Mph. around town anything from 16 - 26mpg TBH the mpg doesn't bother me, more that I know the car is running properly is what I care about. The ignition has been advanced previously, which probably doesn't help the MPG, although helps with the horsies!
  9. Well i drive through the Aston Martin Entrance, see lots of Aston Martins but I work for JLR.
  10. I work in the Executive Office and External Liaison for a Car Manufacturer based in Warwickshire (can you guess lol?) Basically means that I deal with all the customers that demand to speak to the CEO or MD's, and I also deal with allegations of personal inujury, thermal incidents etc etc. It's customers service esentially, just the last chance saloon. I really enjoy it, although some of the customers are PITA!
  11. Favourite picture of mine at the moment.
  12.   It passed it's re-test, so I now have a road worthy Corrado!! YAY!!! treated it £20 of Shell's finest. The annoying thing is, that as we are near the end of the month, it would be pointless getting tax until August! However he has now moved up the pioirty list on our driveway and is now 2nd in the line!! 4 New tyres needed and I also need one seabring if anyone has one lying around ( will pay) as my spare tyre as I have a space saver at the moment!
  13. Failed :( hopefully going back in for retest tomorrow morning. Failed on headlamp too low ?? (don't understand this as nothing has been changed in that area. Excessive play on one of the wheel bearings The one brake line that Ross didn't change it failed on and on the one caliper that wasn't changed. Ross spent yesterday with some help sorting it all out, so fingers crossed back on the road tomorrow with tax!!
  14. Just been told by the other half that he has booked Geoff in for it's mot today at 2:30PM!!! aggghhh :gag: *fingers crossed* heres hoping and all that!
  15. Quick Update Geoff is now off his stilts and back on solid ground, after a few hiccups with the rear brakes (ahem wrong claipers anyone?) all the braking system is now good to go apart from a bleed. Ross went to change the power steering pump yesterday only to find that the bracket that holds it in place, had sheared and lots of bolts missing, so god knows how long it has been like that for and might explain why my power steering has been so dodgy?! Anyway Ross rang up VW thinking that the part is going to be stupidly expensive, to find out that it is only £25!! So he's snapped it up and is the last one around i'm afraid! So it doesn't look to be too far from completion, it has been a while and I just can't wait to get back in and drive it. I would just like to have a fault free summer. Will be taking it to D&G once mot'd and taxed to get the timing belt done and then who knows fault free motoring for a few months? :cuckoo:
  16. Nissan 200SX you could get a 14A for that. Sooo much fun :D (I am Biased though as i'm driving one on a daily basis while Corrado is off the road)
  17. 'N' Reg corrado not sure what flavour blue/black in Kenwilworth Just passed the Shell garage about 6ish Yesterday. I would've waved  but was inthe 200SX :(
  18. Whereabouts Jim so I can be ready for them! I'm thinking beeping my horn to make them jump
  19. That clip is so sad!! :( I hope the insurance don't screw you over!
  20. Haha yes maybe there should be a new thread 'Corrado owner spotting' I know your pain of shuffling the cars around, what i would do for a double width drive!! I would like to point out that we only own one of the 200SX's thats parked out on the road, the green one is our neighbours! For fairly unusual cars our 2 roads do alright don't they  There will be 3 corrados and 2 200SX's. What new car is your other half going for?
  21. Well done on having 2 corrados, which one will be on the road then??
  22. Ah, but Brentacre don't charge admin fees for changing the policy ;) Yes but they won't let you suspend your insurance - which is a tad annoying. I just wish that they would sort out the groupings, i'm sorry but there is no way that a standard 16v should be in a group 16/17 when you can get a new car with the same amount of power that will be in a much much lower grouping. I understand that the work it out on other things - how easy to steal, how much it costs in a claim etc, but I really think the whole groups thing needs to be re-assesed. Although I believe the grouping will be going up to 50 now across all insurers??
  23. So 'Geoff' is still off the road and to be honest not much has happened on the car (life seems to take over) Although saying that, I now have a nice pile of parts and a nice hole in my bank balance. Rear axle is now in my possession - waiting to go in it are new VAG bushes, just a small matter of getting the old ones out :? 10 tonne press anyone? Have decided to go for the Mk4 brake conversion, so now have some calipers which are requiring a little refurb, a nice hour or so in the freezing cold to get these off a passat (these were a billy bargain though so well worth the effort!) new brembo discs, new pads, new braided Hel hoses (red ) New handbrake cables. Also need to fit new hard brake lines. Also have a power steering pump and a thermo time switch to fit. Some photos for your viewing (phone camera -so not the best) I really hope for it to be back in the road in the next few weeks, i've forgotten what it was like to drive and hopefully all this hard work (money) will bring an improvement in the driving. Pile of Parts New Axle to go onto Geoff 10 Tonne Press 8) On stilts :( Hel Braided Hoses - Planning to change the rest of the these in the near future. And for the eagle eyed viewer - my new pressed plates are now on the car. All road legal!
