well after failing to find a place locally that i could get the line from in time for my mot next week i ordered the 2 from vw... £68 with discount!!!!! :( but on the plus side.... took 15mins to fit (with a broken wrist! lol) and no more fuel smell... no more 99ron streaming out of the side of my fuelrail! and 3mpg more :-)

lol.... you suggesting they relaunch an 20year old platform!

all i know is i got a call from a salesman at my dealer 3weeks ago ish saying its on their sales targets for 2008... deffinitely going to get made but no pics at that point (utter rubbish! cars are completed for trial builds at months and months before production) he said somethign about oct this year ?? :-s

sounding spot on mate, it'll be good to see this up and running soon :-)

I remember that scratch proof paint being talked about when i used to work at a car company, very clever stuff, last for about 3 years before it finally cures, in which time the tiny scratches you get every day simply 'fill themselves' by the molecules in the paint moving :-) o forgot to mention... love the plate :-)

i was looking for a mk3 1.4 but insurance is even more expensive on them! and they're good little cars :-) .... o i would have changed the title on the thread but cant remember how... mods??
-
Well my lil bro passed his test last week so he got himself a olop... let the fun and games begin... Its the last of the line mk4 99 on a V plate, 1.4 8v and completely standard, with fsh, lots of bills and old mots.... but because of the rather obvious dent on the door and wing i haggled a bargain 8) i have a straight wing and door in red to go on there and thanks to just_say_meh will have these BBs RZ's soon ready for blasting and painting, it will be simply and subtley tweaked but should look alot more attractive within a month or two :-)
-
looking good on the RC's mate, mine are run everyday as well, handlings supprisingly good they're pretty light for 17's! :-) yeah you should lower it a bit, mine reasonably low and it doesnt catch the road or speedbumps much, never seen a lower C than Bally's running 17" RC's though, that thing looked nuts dude! :-)

erm i thought the law now was that all vehicles going through an mot had to display plates with the postcode of the manufacturer on them (halfords use an etched effect lettering so its barely visable)... i got done by the police after 10 000 miles using white front and back german plates with roundels on my C and tried the 'they're show plates officer sorry i forgot to change them' he couldnt give a sh1t and gave me a £30 fine and confiscated the plates... also threatened to report my number to the dvla for misuse of a private plate (only applies if you have one but worth bearing in mind!) i have 3 mates who are coppers, alll said that if i was stoped just pull the show plates trick and it should be ok, but as i found out, not all policemen are reasonable, and the dvla are having a massive crackdown with the police's help atm on misuse of number plates (private or normal!) HTH Andy

I've got painted ones fitted and i just left mine with standard bulbs, they do flash red as anyone on here who's driven behind me will testify... it also makes the brake lights dangerously hard to see at night strangely... not sure why but i think the general intensity of the main lights confuse with the brake lights as they are now the sam colour after copious amounts of red paint :-), sorry doesnt really help you much just thought i'd warn you about the brake lights!

erm think junkie hit it on the head there... it wasnt by choice... they spent all their time and money on the engine making it go faster! as for what ever next... i think it happened a few years ago mate! lol ! Love them though its proper engineering, its not just a case of sourcing parts for a car and fitting them, a few mates of mine have built hot rods and its a case of find something about right then modifiy it and the car to make it work... alot of work but it can make an awesome car!
-
Nice looking C mate! gotta agree with the leave it cos its spot on view o and ... change jobs? or learn to fly
-
yeah thats philk's leon and they're suprisingly big! but then you can fit people in the back of them so it must be a wee bit longer, bear in mid my C's fairly low and the Leons standard suspension... once he gets it lowered it'll look even more mean!
-
o worth mentioning they're the 7" wide ones of a mk3 anni, not the smaller 6.5" wide ones off a mk4... they look lost IMO
-
here's mine... hope it helps oh and this is what it looks like on standard suspension
-
look up evos and scooby rally cars as this seems to be how they cover their dash's and it does look sweet... especially if ou junk all the switch gear, get a stack display and loads of toggle switches with tape labels above them 8)

are you looking to drill for looks or performance gains as i've heard many poeople remark that the cooling benifits of drilling a disc for road use are slim and also when you remove material you reduce the breaking surface, in theory making them inferior another thing to bear in mind that if you cross drill a pre cast disk you seriously reduce the strength of the metal, and they are prone to cracking, i think a few people on here had this with zimmerman discs as thats how they are drilled i think (someone please confirm) , the only way to ensure a disc is as strong as a non drilled is to introduce the 'drilled' areas in the casting process like porsche do with their discs, although u appreciate theres no way of doing this yourself... sorry to be all doom and gloom!

abd racing did a project corrado 3-4 years back (blue on one on axis 18's) it had the lower dash painted the same blue as the car (looked like mk3 colour concept blue) looks a lil 90's but its your car so its up to you! i have a feature on it in an olf golf mag, i would scan it in but i've lost my scanner/printer somewhere
-
i've seen 17X9's on the back of a c before (think it was ex premier of northamptons dragon green one on porsche wheels if that rings a bell?) had some proper pulling and rolling of the arches but should look awesome :-) arch pulling usually cracks the paint so you'd need a respray as far as i'm aware? (someone whos done it will be able to confirm)
-
they're a stunning looking wheels mate, i had a quick go but i theres people on here who are a oad better... look awesome though 8) what are they?
-
 exactly what i was thinking! looks a bit like a signum from the side too! :? i just doesnt work...
-
erm the proper ones are 5x112... wont fit, but you can get copys in 5x100 that'll fit a vr also in 17's which would fit a bit easier!
-
they're naturnally higher at the back i thought to allow for luggage and passengers on the rear suspension?
