West country accent - Proper Job!!
-
I think he's ok and he did the piece on the Corrado VR6 being a future classic so cut him some slack! I dont think that would have been his idea, he is only a face for what they want him to say. Probably the only one free that day. He's just a cheesy little twat that is only famous for crashing a car. I agree it would not be the same without him. I dont believe a word that he says, he just seems so false to me. Less of the cheese and more sincerity and he can stay

Fixed, the pipe end at the wastegate had degraded so there was a split. Turned it round, connected up and boosting to 7psi now. Only problem is its feels too slow now  . Boost controller back on and I'll have a play with increasing it a bit. The diff was doing its job as it was struggling to spin up in the wet with only 7psi where before it was wild.

The feed line is about 10in from the compressor outlet. I'll try and get the line off and have a look. Failing that it will be turbo off to get the wastegate off. At least Ive plenty of practice at that!!

Mmm, ok. The wastegate hasnt been off since Ive had the car so it hasnt changed position. All I did was removed the manual controller and connect the pipe directly to the pipe leading from the compressor housing to the intercooler. Just to confirm this pipe is the one that open the wastegate and dump the excess pressure into the exhaust manifold/downpipe? Could this then be the restricton and I need a larger ID pipe? There is only one line coming from the wastegate so Im dont see how that could be plumbed in wrong.

STEALTH RACING - Racelogic Traction Control Group Buy

After a few hairy moments at the weekend in the wet I cant wait for this to be fitted. You can easily feel my LSD working but it does come to a point where its overwhelmed. -
Question about wastegate sizes. I have a 38mm which is supposed to have an 11psi spring in it. The line from the wastegate is connected directly to the piping leading to the intercooler. With the old turbo is would only be at about 15-17psi max (with a manual ball / spring controller). With the new one and the controller removed it is spiking up to 20-25psi when Im fairly agressive with the throttle. If I use the throttle steadily there is a chattering noise around 15psi but the boost still rises. Does it sound like the wastegate is too small and I should be looking at a 44mm one or does it sound like the current one is not functioning right (sticking/binding) and causing the boost to be higher?

My 1990 matt black Corrado Valver - New wheels

Looks suprinsingly good. How do you manage to drive it that with the spoiler like that? -
What size wastgate are you using? It is a tight fit.
-
Well if you want bike brakes and staggered widths your limted in choice. What about Merc wheels or maybe BMW?
-
Went for a 100mile blast, got it dirty, passed a few motorbikes then kerbed a wheel. Great day.
-
Massive brakes means 17's. Probably going to have to look at Porsche or Porsche replica for the staggered widths and good caliper clearance.
-
I used to hate the Leon's but quite like them now especially the Cupra. It has the Ed30 engine in it.
-
So what your saying is its pretty much uselsss then! :brickwall:
-
Its the one from C2 Motorsport, 300cell I believe. Not really driven with it yet but intend to put a few miles on this weekend to see if its running better with the new probes.
-
Lights yes, plate no. Sorry but the gap between the first and 2nd set of characters is too big. Whats wrong with standard clean plates?
-
TBH if money is tight (your sounding like an Aberdonian more and more  ) and its a quick fix then I would just go with the Vmaxx, just set them at a sensible height.

Just paid the noo. Provisionally booked in for 20th Sept to get fitted so hopefully RR day can happen on the 19th. -
Thats a hoorin lot of oil there!! Castrol though... . Was trying to get a friend to buy one of these this week but he shit scared of the running costs.
-
Looks great, those wheels do really suit the Corrado.
-
Is ther a decided date then? Trying to possibly tie it in with getting the Racelogic fitted as its a 400+mile journey for me. 2 birds with one stone and all that. I think Sunday would be better for me.
-
New C2 cat welded in, taken a little bit of edge of the exhaust note. Still think I'll try a centre silencer. Brand new lambda and LC1 probe as well. Seems to be running a lot smoother so Im confident the lambda was a bit iffy.
-
There probably lighter than the Compomotives!!! But then the extra weight helps with traction...kind of.
-
Wilwood 6 pots, 312mm discs!!!! 10mm spacer on the front. I had them lying about as I was going to put on my Mk4's winter tyres on them but maybe not now. Some 8in banded steels with Bora flat face wheels trims anyone....
