  1. I like the idea of a solar trickle charger as I cant get to the mains, are they any good and which one do you have ? Ditto. Drive mine at least twice a week and thats usually 100miles or so. Would take it to work more often but the clutch is a pig in traffic.

Got the silencer fitted, its bloody tight. Reduced the noise to a good level though. Had a few little lambda issue but seem to be sorted now. Went for a drive tonight and had a play with a Caterham style car on a b-road. He was giving it the berries on the straight bit but I was just tickling the throttle, the guys double takes in the mirror was quite funny. Little wave from him when we split which was quite cool. Stereo is not working but TBH I think I prefer it without now, it makes the drive much more involving :camp: . Some quick crappy phone pics form tonight showing the plate in situ. Note Ive removed the lamix as well, prefer it like that now. Car will be down at Stealth end next month for the VRT RR day and to get the Racelogic fitted.
  3. Not sure it shows up on Vagcom, Id just replace it.
  4. Try lambda probe after checking the exhaust. Also check the usual HT leads and plugs to see there ok. Ive had a few lambda issues recently often it only showing up when at cruising speed on the motorway. Basically it was overfuelling and causing the car to stutter from 70-85mph.
  5. LSD is only so effective, if I give it the beans in low gears I still spin the wheels. 24v has a torque a lot lower down than the 12v as well, I found my 2.8 24v would spin the wheels a lot easier than when it was the 12v. What tyres do you have?
  6. Found the problem, there was a 30amp fuse running from the battery terminal. Only found it as the stereo is on the blink so I was tracing wires. One of the connectors was very loose so I guess its for the fuel pump. Connected and fired up first time. Its like women this car, goes all in cream puff for no apparent reason then you play with it for a while then stick something in and all seems well. Just as well Im single at the moment as I dont think I could handle two things in my life like that  . Roddy you can put Chris of for the moment, well at least until the next thing goes wrong  .
  7. Checked the fuel pump fuse and its fine. Going to double check everything again. Beginning to regret selling the green one now.
  8. Went to start the car this morning and it started fine. Switched off then tried restarting 5min later and its just cranking over. Its sparking fine and Ive replaced the fuel pump and ECU relay's but no joy. Its not getting any fuel by the looks of it. Cant think of what else to look at. My car is OBDII so not quite the same as normal VR. Would the TPS do this? Seem to spend more time fixing the thing than driving it :brickwall:, I can see it going up for sale soon.
  9. No problem, let me know how much for yours and I'll get the money sent.
  10. My caliper only measures 40mm. You guys need TH2's then, I can get a full finger width between the caliper and the back of my wheels.
  11. Im not selling one, just saying that you can get them cheaper and quicker from that place. Looks like I might need another one as well.... :brickwall:
  12. Mmm its still for sale. Wonder how big the boot is and I can get a towbar on it? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1968027.htm or this maybe instead of the Golf http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1910854.htm
  13. Been thinking about one of them as well. Love the engine and they dont have as much issues as the old coupe with getting body bits etc. In fact Im of to Pistonheads right now to see whats out there. That one looks great, silver is quite rare. There was one for sale near me last year and he was looking for a swap with a corrado. Almost chopped the green one for it.
  14. I got a replacement lambda recently and it was the Bosch OE part with correct connector for £70 delivered and it came the next day. http://www.lambdapower.co.uk/
  15. Had a quick look through the install instructions and it doesnt look too bad if your fairly competent with a soldering iron. Thats me screwed then . Really needing this, Ive had a few hairy moments in the wet on long corners with the speed piled on :pale: .
  16. Im getting this installed by Vince but what exactly is involved with fitting? I might just give it a go myself as its the only way to learn I suppose and get a remap done instead when Im down.
  17. Was just shopping in Asda tonight (need to if you run a VRT!!) and was buying some cleaning cloths when I noticed they sell Mobil 1 oil. Turns out they are selling 10-40 and 0W-40 fully Synthetic for @ £32 for 5l. Seems a bit of a bargin to me.
  18. Yeah my battery has been relocated to the hump in between the rear seats. Not sure whether Id be able to tie into a lead in the bay though. I'll have to look or see if James would know.
  19. Im assuming your in the forces. My brother is and has seen the bad (really bad) in this world. His attutide to life has changed and Ive never seen him get stressed or really weigh up decisions with much intensity. Ive kind of taken that a bit on board and after loosing a few close friends suddenly in recent years I do tend to go for things if there is not a major drawback. I know we cant life live totally like this or be completely reckless but if it were me and it wont really affect your relationships I say go for it.
  20. +VAT mind and thats not a new one thats it fixed. Fook that. Looks like someone has already built my car -
  21. Not sure, would like a 911 of some sorts, really like 993 RS's but there no cheap. Always wanted an Integrale as well. DannyB - guy at work has one of them, gearbox just went bang and its £4500+vat to fix....too much torque.
  22. Still want to do the RWD sports car things so an Elise or TVR of some sorts. I will own a Porsche one day as well, always liked them.
  23. I might have blue one lying about, they look better without IMO or at least some sort of flat cap.
