  1. Ah, cool, was just interested... It looks like a pretty substantial bit of kit... any pics of how it works? (yeah, I'm an engineering geek and things like this intrigue me... :geek:  8) ) My sister had the same, they normally just work on an X style linkage principal i.e. pull to accelerate and push forward to brake. Its weird to start with but you soon get used to it. Cars looking good by the way.
  2. Mmm, short intake and turbo keep airbox in OE position. I reckon a 24v turbo would be spot on, 4wd a must though.
  3. You have me up twice, 2.8 for me. Stan's old one (first PSI conversion) now lives in Edinburgh and John-M is another PSI conversion. I think they have done 6 including mine. Remember there was Zipperapples as well. I would say at least a dozen now.
  4. Ok couldnt see anything, tried a 30amp fuse and it works but Im sure this is not safe. Any suggestions on what it could be?
  5. Just think of how many times they have heard something similar depsite it being true in this case. It is fairly petty by them but as said they are just applying the letter of the law. In that case there sod all you can do.
  6. Looks normal then plus I think its cured itself. This cars great, it fixes itself. Whats the brown one for by the way? Only ever seen yellow, blue and black.
  7. No requirement for reversing lights for MOT. If it working though it should be white. Amazing car youve bought. For the CAT look on the forced induction VR6 thread as I asked about it recently as well.
  8. Well the battery is in the hump so it is modded to a certain extent but I dont think there is an uprated loom.
  9. Sportec Mono's IIRC. There quite pricey as well I think though.
  10. Was just going to ask about the top of the 3/4's as there quite common for issue up there. Looking good. Found this pic on my computer, perfect wheels for the S3.
  11. Ok have a little issue with the red one. Passenger only main beam wasnt working so checked fuse (once I realsied there was one for either side :brickwall: ) and replaced it. Seemed to work until noticed it wasnt coming home from work. Tried a 15 the 20 amp fuse just to check and both blew as soon as I switched on the headlights. Will go through everything tomorrow but any suggestions other than the relay's etc to check? Could it be the switch? Im still very green when it comes to the devils work that is wiring.
  12. TBH I reckon you could get away with at least 20mm all round. Standard are ET43 so ET23 with spacers. Folk can get 9in et25 on the front so a 6.5in wont be a problem. Ive run 8in ET35 on the front with no problems. Best thing to do get a pad and draw it out, worked for me in the past.
  13. Thanks for that Henny... just what I wanted to hear on a Friday! So how long do I have to wait for one of these twincharger Polos to go scooting past my VR6 and there I'll be - probably unable to keep up with it, and also in the knowledge that he's getting probably double the mpg that I am. Great... just bloody great... :( Have you ever driven a car with that engine though? My mum has the 140 version in her A3 with 7spd DSG and it was so underwhelming to drive. In fact I hated it.
  14. The internal comustion engine wastes a hugh amount of energy and is not really that efficient TBH. Its all relative. Lotus are still working on ethanol engines with varing CR's and controllable valvetrain etc. Silly high mpg with good power and small engines. Hydrogens fuel cells are the future but we still have plenty of oil left so may as well make it last.
  15. Why not? If thats what the market is then thats what there worth. Your not going to get a good car for peanuts.
  16. Does look in good nick in the photos. Im changing my mind about the Solitudes, never really used to like them but starting to now.
  17. Trip sounds like fun, loving Speedlines again.
  18. Yeah clips there, just thought Id check. Thanks, guess what Im doing this weekend.
  19. Is my yellow temp sensor sitting right in the photo. The other two are flush with the housing yet the yellow sensor is sitting more proud of the housing? Also anyone know the part number for the o-ring as its leaking?
  20. If you get the premium back when you come to sell then fair enough but at the end of the day is it worth paying extra just for a badge? As said above get the best condition car you can, its not like there are Corrado's on every street so they are reasonably rare anyway.
  21. Depends on your plans for the car. IIRC Jetex is still 2.25in bore so if your planning FI in the future the Techtonics should be better with the 2.5in bore. Looks would come into it as well. I prefer the simple round tailpipe.
  22. I dont think you can get them other than direct from Techtonics the States Im afriad and there not cheap. Mine was 2nd hand from on here.
  23. Yep 205/45/16's. Those are standard size for a Mk4 you have on. Here what it should look like.
