  1. One less, MOT, Tax, running cost etc though. It all adds up. Still thinking of doing the same.

Feels much better with these on. Slowly getting used to it, managed to string a good 5miles of corners along a bumpy b-road playing with the throttle. One thing Im learning is hold on with both hands. Better photo of the wheels on. Will be raising it slightly as I am getting a little bit of rubbing at the back. Front plate is on as the cops go nazi about plates up here, not worth the hassle.

Been busy already. Introduced greenie to the beast and put the compo's on. They sit just how I want, maybe need slight spacing out but purely for looks. There is a heap of room at the front, I can still get my finger between the caliper and the back face of the wheel. If the roads dry up I'll take it for a blast to see what the difference is and get some better photos. The Weds were pretty light considering there size.

There just not my thing. Im not a bling type person, prefer the functional look. Dont get me wrong they are very nice but not for me.

When I get a chance. Not overly fussed with figures TBH, all I know is its bloody quick. It would need to be something special to keep up. Just like a normal VR till 3krpm. I reckon a 24v turbo would be the best of both worlds now.....oh dear.
  6. My mum has the Ae with the 140 DSG 7spd version and it terrible IMO :confused4:
  7. Where do you put the ladder to get in?? Only joking, looks a good example.

Well one of the worst kept secret's on here is finally out. Jumped on a train just before 8 this morning and headed off to look at the beast. When James took the cover off I couldnt believe the finish. Ive never seen a Corrado look as good. I'll keep it short but after going for a quick blast I was sold. When we pulled onto the M1 I couldnt believe the rate at which this thing gathered speed and noise of the wastegate etc was amazing. Deal was done and I drove it the 250+miles home without a hitch. Its a testament to the work that James put into this, Im already trying to find a suitably sized bed sheet to put over it in the garage. Must say a big thanks to James for keeping the car despite other parties coming along and for meeting me at the station. Im going to put my Compo's on tomorrow and possibly raise it slightly if the front is still catching on the road. Ive got a cheeky plate to go on as well.
  9. But then those are the parts that no one see's and where you can save money so its better to have the visible components appear to be better quality. 95% of people dont work on there own cars so it doesnt matter to them how brittle a sensor is when removign it. At the end of the day VW are in it to make money from selling cars so I completely understand they way they are made.
  10. Surely this is the main argument. Its all relative to your competitors. Yes they are expensive but then so is the alternative options. Its happening to all vehicles at the moment, supersport 600's close to £9k RRP. I bought a brand new one for £6500 three years ago.
  11. Im kind of in the same situation. Ive had mine for sale for a few weeks and Ive not had one single call or enquiry about it. Bought and sold many cars before but never had this lack of interest and I was contemplating breaking. Luckily I have it sorted so Im not fussed anymore. If I needed quick funds I might consider it but it will be last resort. They are the sort of car you have to wait for the buyer to come along. I feel more and more people are going for standard examples now.
  12. How much for the turbo? PM if you want.
  13. HIC are always a bit funny when renewing. They always seem to quote high. I onlt stayed with them on the Golf as they gave me a decent quote. Brentace for the Raddo.
  14. Ive seen the car a few times when Im down visiting my mother. Originally from Kirrie but havent lived there for 5-6 years. Still got a lot of friends down there that have mentioned seeing your car to me, mum even mentioned it at the weekend. you may have seen mine a few times as well. Do you still have the towbar? Whats the cars history?
  15. Well done. Just wait till the first drive.
  16. Everything but the wheels colour is good. Why cream?
  17. I do love these wheels, simple yet very effective. Whats Kev got on now?
  18. Perfect for helping when undoing top mount bolts as well, worthy addition to the toolbox.
  19. Wont fit, Fords are 4x108. There cheap TSW's anyway so I wouldnt fit them in any case.
  20. Aye Brentacre are good. Doing me a good deal on my two.
  21. Anyone tried these efforts yet? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT
  22. what the hel is wrong with us!! We just cant leave our cars alone. Im picking up a Mk4 Tdi daily tomorrow and all I can think of is what wheels and suspension to look out for. TBH I would have left the 16v as it was if its a daily as knowing my luck as soon as its painted some twat would hit it.
  23. Its funny you should say that, because I've never actually been a big fan of the standard (if you can call it that!) RS, as I really didn't like the flagship "lime green" colour, as I thought it was too loud and in yer face, and screamed "LOOK AT ME!"..... but I find the new RS500's matt black actually changed my opinion, and because it's not as "visually" loud as a lime-green RS, it appeals to me more. It kinda reminds me of a modern day kitt out of knightrider! For me thats why it stands out, how many other Matt black cars do you see. If it had been a unique colour then possibly but dont really like Matt cars in general either. I certianly wont be buying one so I dont have to worry about it. I also think its a bit crap using the Rs500 name,
