The 2nd and 3rd gear started to grind while shifting well before this "catastrophic event" happened. Syncro rings doesn't actually look worn out considering other damage. Differential racers, as you can see, also were on they way out. I have this car for almost 4 years now. In my early days of ownership I drove it rather mercilessly, playing with gearbox totaly unnecessary, which resulted in fast shifting while clutch was not fully engaged, shifting too early or too late, shifting from 2nd to 4th, and other games... And this was done more than once, in my opinion, every time doing irreversible damage to transmission system. Lesson learned. :( Be gentle as you can be to your VW GB.

And 02M transmission from 6 cylinder engines also can't be used because it's 6-speed and 4WD system, right?

So, this weekend I'm driving my C down the road when suddenly... Pics says more than words :epicfail: Corrado92.pdf13072009191.jpg[/attachment:1lsqll3b]stromlaufplan_gamma4.pdf13072009190.jpg[/attachment:1lsqll3b] stromlaufplan_gamma4.pdf13072009188.jpg[/attachment:1lsqll3b]ETKA Corrado.pdf13072009189.jpg[/attachment:1lsqll3b]passat climatronic wiring diags.pdf13072009192.jpg[/attachment:1lsqll3b]climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdf13072009193.jpg[/attachment:1lsqll3b]2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf13072009194.jpg[/attachment:1lsqll3b]13072009195.jpg[/attachment:1lsqll3b] After my mechanic took everything out and figured he can't find 02A VR6 transmission in reasonable shape anywhere in my beloved country, after some thinking he told me that he could fit MK5 transmission inside without any major modifications. I was stunned because I couldn't find much informations about this conversion on my favorite forum(s)... Anyway, could this work - and how?? Regards, Emir

I received VR6 airbox from Cnut today, in very good condition, excellent price. I'm living in Bosnia so shipping was reasonably fast. :) Packaging could be better though as always with international shipments... There was missing one rubber washer in the box, also one tiny part (little bit of superglue fixed it) was broken probably due to horrible customs inspectors here. Very pleased overall :D THANKS Phil!

I read somewhere that Corrado budget was three times sent to management board for rebalancing at a time, that's how expensive was developing it... Third time, heads at VW agreed there will be no more adding funds for Corrado project. :cuckoo: Now i know Corrado was really - a bargain!

I found this hellainstructions.jpg[/attachment:2ty1rd2h]

That's a beautiful looking car. -
Bushes are replaced all around as i wrote before, checked them approximately a month ago, used solid OEM TT/R32 rear wishbone bushes and everything else VR6 standard. Ball joints and tie rod ends have no play at all. I'll try that test over the weekend though... P.S Also forgot to mention that i have intermittent stuttering while steering. Strangely, it never happens when the car is cold, only when heats up a little. It's also more or less pronounced depending on road bumpiness/elevations. It's noticeable only when car is slowly driven, somehow it's not that obvious when driving faster. Feels almost as like power steering doesn't work - it's harder to steer and you can actually hear short pop!-pop!-pop!'s while slowly turning a steering wheel. My first thought was logical, knackered top mounts, but replaced them as i wrote before, and nothing changed at all... Actually i think it got worse! Must look into it too over the weekend i guess...

That's good price mate. Looking forward to see some proper rebuild here, with lotsa detailed pics if possible! :)

Mat, what do you exactly mean by "steering lock"? I rechecked them week ago, i then changed top mount bearing just to be sure... I'm positive bushes and mounts are all right. No clunking or squeaking or anything like that. You are correct Kev, steering does feel heavier turning right! First i thought steering rack gave up, but when i checked alignment and castor then... Other of that, steering isn't so bad actually, it's precise and predictable around the bends, just have to add more right input to compensate for left pull, even little more on the WOT  Also did balancing of the wheels while i was there, and check this out: front right rim was slightly more deformed, it actually wobbled very little while you watched it rolling on the balancing machine. Thought it's normal, but asked them to switch wheels front-rear just to be sure it wasn't problem in the bent rim. Nothing changed. I'm affraid i hit something hard with my right side (oh-er!), hard enough to bend something on the whishbone-subframe-shell line just what Lufbramatt was pointing out, but isn't obvious to a naked eye... Is it also possible to be a differential? Cheers.

 Well it made a little sense to me at first, if you make your oil system bigger by adding longer plumbing and larger capacity oil cooler, then pressure at same temperature should be lower than in non-modified oil system, just because you made your system larger and therefore the pressure drops accordingly. However, no matter how bad the oil pump he had, it should be able to make additional oil pressure for now larger capacity system! I bet there was something else there, maybe he used crappy oil, so bad that oil pump couldn't achieve proper oil pressure. Who will know...

I mean Castor. Ideally it should be +3

Wishbones looked relatively OK last time i checked, no visible damage/bending, no serious rust, etc. However I will replace them soon i guess... Forgot to mention i already replaced complete tie rods. Should i go genuine VAG item, or..? Roads are utterly poor here and it's my daily drive. Sometimes when i'm in the rush just don't have a time to avoid some potholes. Combine that with a non-marked speed bumps that are most of a time invisible, and you just hear them (when it's too late of course)! Should i let them do 4 wheel alignment with me at a driver's seat next time?

I just had a little chat with a guy who has MK3 VR6, and swears that he had oil intercooler fitted due to high oil temps, but removed it immediately after he checked oil pressure. Oil pressure was too low, says it's probably due to "longer oil recirculation circuit" when aftermarket cooler was installed. Asked him what oil cooler exactly he was using, and he replied it was "home made" :) I was thinking about fitting Mocal oil cooler, and now i'm asking you guys... Has anyone noticed drop in oil pressure after fitting oil intercooler?

If you want 2.5" through test pipe with no reduction (using aluminized steel, not stainless i think), you can get it from the States, here: http://store.42draftdesigns.com/Corrado ... 3-107.html

I don't know if it was posted here before, but those crazy guys from Croatia did it! I thought it would be nice to post this since everybody's starting to go R32 route :D Here you go, nevermind the music :dorky:

Standard exhaust manifold is very well built with excellent flow charasteristics, if it's leak free of course :) The best job you can do is gasket matching and porting/polishing it. Then you may even get better performance with it than buying aftermarket 6 branch, and it's cheaper too.

i'm sure 99,9% they are the same

Problem could still be around fuel pump. Took off mine recently to see its condition and fuel sender attached to it is really sensitive thingy. When i reinstalled it back( and i was careful), my fuel gauge now can't show over half a tank. I'm too busy right now to get it it adjusted, i need new pump and fuel sender anyways...

On my car they are 48mm long :?
