  1. As if I'm going to forget that! Have you seen my thread recently?...
  2. Nice one mate. :D I know exactly what you mean when you talk about being consumed by your car. I'm at that stage now. I spend ages staring at the huge list of parts planning my next move. Or organising the mountain of bits in the old stable I've taken over to store everything and rebuild my engine in. Lucy isn't happy and is looking forward to it being finished as much as I am!
  3. Things are progressing really nicely. Dropped the sub frame, anti roll bar and front cross member off with the powder coaters today. Should get them back in a week's time. £75 for the whole lot which I thought was really good! 8) Also ordered new bolts for the sub frame and roll bar bushes. Should get those tomorrow as well as an engine stand. Lovin it!
  4. Nice one dude!!! Really pleased for you! :D
  5. They're great aren't they. Corrados are pretty good too. :D Seeing your car back together is spurring me on dude. Next summer is gonna be pretty cool with a rebuilt corrado to run around in. :) I prefer them to corrados to be fair. Good. Always nice to have something to encourage you. There will be dark days ahead though... You'll have to come out for a go in the VR at some point. You're right, it won't all be plain sailing. The lessons learned from the Golf earlier this year are still very much fresh in my memory! I'll definitely come down and see you at some point soon. We're going to Wales in the first week of October. Could probably call in on the way there or back. :D

  7. Don't be silly.... It's dark blue.
  8. Hmmmmm.... I think I may have started something here....
  9. On the car or on the pictures of ladies?
  10. That probably would be a good idea wouldn't it! I'm not sure Chuck Taylors would offer much protection against a 30KG gearbox! :brickwall:  Right, removed the rack and did a little tidying up this morning. The rack itself seems pretty good. Just very, very dirty. Just gonna clean it up and change the rods and ends. Got some stuff ready to take to the powder coaters. Only things left to remove from the bay are the power steering fluid bottle and the washer fluid bottle, then I'll clean the bay good and proper. Also I'm gonna get the front struts out and clean the arches thoroughly with the pressure washer. :D Also if anyone has one of these that they don't need any more in a slightly less rusty condition please get in touch!
  11. I'd quite like to know who that is. :norty:
  12. I really do just think about girls and cars. With a bit of music in there too. But you can't take pictures of music.
  13. Block and gearbox are out! Getting a block out without the head really is easy after all. If a little awkward.... Found a use for the old head bolts. :D Almost there! Touch down! I slipped with the camera! Next job is to clear the garage of debris!
  14. A Corrado farm? Wow, you get subsidies for graowing anything these days. :tumbleweed: What a fine thing to grow though :luvlove: He doesn't so much grow them though as dismantle them. At least he's put the VR back together again though. Right, plans for today: Breakfast. Halfords. Engine crane. Thinking about breasts. Machine Mart. Engine stand. Breasts. Separating engine parts that have been together for the best part of two decades. Swearing. Breasts. Update thread with pictures. I love Sundays!!!
  15. It was 100 quid in the end. Would have been 160 new from machine mart. It's just a Clarke one but will be fine for what I need it for. It's in perfect condition too. Been well looked after. Need to get a stand next. If you need one you can always borrow mine when I'm not using it. :D
  16. I think my abundance of space is second only to Toad's corrado farm. :D
  17. :D Well, I've been meaning to buy one for ages anyway so thought I'd splash out on a second hand one off Ebay. Good for 1000kg. Think that should do it! Should make the removal of the gearbox and block a lot easier but more importantly it will make returning the engine to the car a doddle. 8) Can't wait to try it out tomorrow when I shoud have a decent update.
  18. It might help if you swapped Massa for someone else...also, if you wish to start with a completely new team then you are given the lowest score, which also happens to be you so you might as well      :( Mocked.
  19. Right buddy, had a look to see what I could find. The car was originally sold by the dealer in Dunfermline on 02/11/1992. It's HPI clear so nothing to worry about there. One thing I would say is that on Dialog it was last serviced by VW on 14/04/2001 at 92,243 miles. If that's right it's only done about 13k in eight years....
  20. As I say I'll check it out for you tomorrow. If you haven't already dude take a look at the vr6 buyers guide on here. Loads of info. :D
