  1. Gonna take some of those names to my tyre place and see what gives me the best deal I think. Must admit though I'm leaning towards the Eagles. I hear what you're saying Rob but because I do such a low mileage in the car the treads should last a relatively long time.
  2. Just picked up some RXs off here and have been thinking about what tyres to go for. That's one vote for Eagles then. 8) That's also a good point about the suspension. One thing I've always wanted to know is what it was like to drive a new Corrado. Looks like I'm gonna be saving for a long time though. :D
  3. Hah. :) WTF?!   mate that did make me feel better. Not because you got hurt I hasten to add but just because I am a great fan of randomness. :D Ok, for those that are still intersted in the car I am having a break until Sunday as I am a big girl (although I DO NOT have a girl's name) and want to rest before tackling such nice things as inlet manifold removal and downpipe nuts of misery. Also I need to sort out an engine crane for when I do the sub frame and stuff. Just to make the process a little less life threatening.
  4. You. You have ruined my thread. This is supposed to be about my Corrado and now it is nothing more than an encyclopedia of girl's names! I can't remember what you called me though. James or something. Whatever, that's when it all started. So it's you're fault. Thanks anyway for the warning mate. I'll bear that in mind.... No updates for the last couple of evenings. Not that anyone really cares anymore.... :(
  5. WTF?! Was that you toad you ravening goit! I don't care if you are a mod I forbid you from putting words in my mouth. Or anything else for that matter. Jim, you are also a ravening goit.
  6. Honestly guys, I know it's a struggle, but I really don't know what my new girl-name should be? I like Josephine, but I think that Brenda suits me better.... What do you think?
  7. Bit it is Junkie's fault. He started it. Why won't anyone believe me? :(
  8. Yeah, I was gonna say. I'm not the one putting a 24v turbo in my car! Who are you calling mentally unhinged? Who are you calling Janet? My name is JOE!!!!!! Calm down Barbara! I'm not going to win this am I. Junkie, this is all your fault!!!
  9. Yes. Oh, well why didn't you say so earlier.... welcome to the club! :salute:[/quote:3vbv3sj5] Yeah, I was gonna say. I'm not the one putting a 24v turbo in my car! Who are you calling mentally unhinged? Who are you calling Janet? My name is JOE!!!!!!
  10. I thought the bollocks were part of the appeal for you? Yes.
  11. I meant buy a new car.... seriously these Corrado's are over-rated! Oh! Nah, give me a Rado any day. 8) If I got a new car I'd have to have a Rado as well.
  12. Because they last 5 years plus, easily... I hear what you're saying mate. I'll have to weigh up what I hate more. Non genuine parts or extortionate prices!
  13. How can I possibly justify 70 quid for two drop links plus whatever it was for the rubbers and washers? I have no choice but to replace them as the near side one has snapped. I think some bits are just gonna have to come from Euro/eBay or this is just going to get a little too silly. Obviously I don't want to skimp on things but at the same time I need money to eat and to live in a general way.
  14. Just priced up pretty much the same stuff on Euro and it comes to less than 100 quid. I hate Euro car parts parts though. :(
  15. I know! Jay was like "I'll just print this off and you can make up your mind about which bits you actually want". He then handed me the paper and laughed as my jaw hit the floor. Then made some remark about buying a new car. Parts guys eh?
  16. Priced up some bits today. £275.00 just for the steering and suspension parts I need! That's without my staff discount but I won't get much off because Corrado stuff doesn't get the higher rate of discount. Surprise surprise. The roll bar drop links are 35 notes each!!!!! And that's without the rubbers.... As much as I love my Corrado I'm not spending that much on drop links. :cuckoo:
  17. I'd hate to see Top Gear go as much as anyone but this is the first series where I've thought perhaps it's had it's day. I didn't hear hammond mention another series though.
  18. I wonder if it was the last one ever.
  19. Yeah, I might actually watch it this time instead of getting something to eat when it's on.
  20. Yeah, but it's gonna be wicked! Can't wait! But apparently the Scirocco bit is only 17 minutes long. Far too short. :(
  21. yeah. 8) I'll give it a go then. No doubt 5 of them will come off really easily and then I'll round the last one off! Sweet, Thursday will be best for me buddy. Where the hell do you live?
  22. £40 for the subframe if you want it. ;) Cool, can I come and see it some time this week?
  23. Every other time I've done a head gasket I've left the inlet manifold on. Like I did on the golf. There just appears to be a little more room oddly on the G60. Is it just the six allen bolts? I am quite a slight person yes.
  24. Pauline, it's nothing a refurbed subframe (I have a bare one ready for refurb for sale), refurbed hubs and some new wishbones wouldn't sort out. You'd want to replace the wishbone bushes anyway, so just buy complete. I can't see it being a problem. It's not as if the rust looks terminal anyway. A donor car will still need all that stuff doing anyway. Nice one Stu. How much do you want for the sub frame? Little update from this morning. Started to strip some more of the bay out in preparation for the head to come off: How difficult is it to get the intake manifold off before getting the head off? Also I took these off. I'd quite like some new ones if I'm honest.... That's probably going to be it for today. I have a million and one other things I need to get on with.
