  1. I'm going to go with both rattle less than the Hyundai.
  2. No worries, I probably won't be able to tell you a huge amount (most rados haven't seen a vw dealership for a while) but I'll be able to tell you if there's anything dodgey about it. I used to work for Hyundai too! Coupes rattle like mad. Takes ages for the oil to circulate around the top end if they've sat for a while. I went through loads as company cars.
  3. Doesn't sound too bad given the mileage. What's the reg? I work for vw. I'll check it out for you. 2k is about right at the moment though.
  4. It would most likely overheat really badly and boil over with the cap on as exhaust gasses enter the cooling system. Mate, from what you've described it sounds fine. Get it bought! :D
  5. It's if there is still pressure in the system even when the engine is cold that you need to worry. But then that might just be a knackered cap. Sometimes tricky to diagnose a head gasket failure because most of the symptoms can have other causes. Oh, and they have a guide on Ebay? Linky?
  6. Fine Young Cannibals: She drives me crazy Like no one else She drives me crazy And I cant help myself
  7. It's not like it's just the money either, it's the time too. I spent five hours on this car yesterday. Been speaking to the master technician at work about all the stuff we can do to this car. It's gonna be great to have access to a VW workshop. :D :D :D Especially one where the Corrado actually gets the respect it deserves. 8)
  8. I was wondering if anyone would notice that. I never fail to notice breasts. :norty:
  9. Did I read that right? You only thought about breasts once?! There was several hours work there.
  10. That's all that's left to remove. The Gearbox and then the block! I'm well excited about it! :D :D :D Update from today. Removed both drive shafts, hubs and calipers (which I have stripped down ready for a refurb). Also got the last of the brake lines off that need replacing. Will get new ones made up at some point. It's breaking my heart not being able to drive the thing but I'm so glad I'm doing this. With things going the way they are with parts supplies at VW and also with my life (buying a house soon then kids no doubt) and stuff this will be the last chance I get to do something like this for a while. I just can't wait to take it for a spin with a rebuilt engine and all new suspension parts! The closest I will ever get to knowing what it was like to drive a new Corrado. 8)
  11. Good call dude. After forking out to get it powder coated I want to make sure it doesn't rust from the inside!
  12. Amen to that! :D Any cheeky perfomance mods or all nice and orignal? Nice and original dude. I like the fact that my car is for the most part standard. Original G60s are getting rarer and rarer. People can't handle the slowness!
  13. It is very rewarding mate. And a lot cheaper too! I miss this car sooooo much. All I want to do is drive it. But I've got to remember to take my time and do a good job. I have a habit sometimes of rushing things because I get impatient. I just have to remember it will be worth the slog in the end. :D
  14. Been spending a lot of time on this car recently. Here are some up to date pictures of the bay. As Mic and Stu have pointed out this afternoon there is little point in not taking the block out now.... So gearbox off soon then.... It will make painting it a lot easier I suppose. And if I don't I'll never hear the end of it! Getting the last of the fecked brake lines off tomorrow along with the calipers, drive shafts and hubs. Will then start tidying up the loom. Picked up the sub frame from Stu ready to go to be blasted and powder coated shortly. Reconditioned head will be with me early September so I plan to have most of the bits together ready to start rebuilding by weekend of 12th. :D Gonna just plough into this now. I want my car back!!!!!!
  15. No worries mate. Nothing whatsoever in the history to worry about. Sounds like a goodun. :D
  16. Is it meant to be this shape?.... Made quite good progress today. There's literally not much left in my engine bay other than the loom, the block and the gear box. I've started the cleaning process too. Will update properly on Sunday. I have shingles and although this is a day off and not a sick day I'm supposed to be resting on girlfriend's orders....  :epicfail:
  17. Right mate, car is HPI clear. First registered on a private plate - PRD 755. First registered 08/12/1994 currently on its 5th owner. Checked the history on dialog for the plate M250 APU. It was sold and serviced by dealer 207 which is Sheppard's in Bishops Stortford where I'm guessing it was traded in, hence the plate change. It went back to them for four services: 1997 - 22404 miles 1998 - 31441 miles 1999 - 39461 miles 2000 - 49071 miles Then like the vast majority of Corrados it disappears off the radar. Oh, according to dialog it's next service is due 13/06/2001....
  18. Worst. Season. For. Ferrari. Ever. Maybe they should dangle a FAB in front of Raiki's face to make him go faster. The good old carrot on a stick technique....
  19. Yeah mate, post up the reg and I'll check dialog and hpi tomorrow. :D
  20. Sorry guys. Car is now sold for full asking price.
  21. Even if it hasn't been used once during those six weeks.
  22. ah hermmm ...You did see my car today didn't you???? It was the mystic blue one that was there right from the start of the day... That's a STORM isn't it? Does that have a broken steering wheel height adjustment mechanism?
  23. Well, it would. But unfortunately you have chosen to purchase a Corrado. It only covers the steering wheel height adjustment mechanism. That's the only thing that has worked on every Corrado I've ever seen.
