  1. Me, I won't answer your phone calls asking how to put it together from now on.... : I'll be good.
  2. It's pretty sh!t isn't it. Thinking I may go down the donor car route if I find one cheap enough. There are loads of pretty serious bits that just need to go in the skip. If my rust is the worst you've ever seen then chances are any donor car I get will be in better nick? Obviously most bits I'll get new depending on if they're actually still available.... Is it worth cleaning those hubs up and giving them a coat of paint?
  3. Damn it! Can't get that Philip schofield one out of my head now!
  4. Those are mental! Some people have too much time on their hands and way too many clips of Philip Schofield on their computers.
  5. The styling has never been my cup of tea but much respect for it none the less. Get it bought. :D
  6. Little update from this evening. I'm pretty addicted to this project now. Front discs and pads are off.... And look at my lovely drive shaft. Gonna get those wish bones off tomorrow probably. Who reckons my charger oil feed is not as oil tight as it could be?
  7. Who's gonna finish first. Me or you? I'm gonna go with you as you have a two year head start over me....
  8. Sehr gut. 8) I had no idea you were even thinking about new wheels. :D
  9. It is fun mate! :D Very therapeutic. I can wholeheartedly recommend it. Really got the bug for it now. Just thinking how great it will be to have a sorted Rado. 8) If such a thing exists.... Basically I'm just going to price bits up and buy whatever I can be bothered to spend money on. As I said I haven't saved up or anything so just going to be buying bits and pieces here and there.
  10. Cheers, I'll be having words about that then. The bm here is brilliant. He's been so supportive and is a really good salesman too.
  11. Cheers Andy, I'm working at Northgate in bury. I'm loving it! Worlds apart from where I was before!!! How are you doing?
  12. Didn't even notice that...... To be fair Margaret, he's got a point! I'm not sure. Looks like the wings have had paint at some point and possibly the bumper looking at that overspray. The bonnet definitely has never had paint.... Whether it was in a front end impact I'm not sure. I've trawled through the history on the VW dialog system and there is nothing mentioned on there. Maybe someone just wanted to get rid of some stone chips or something? :confused4:
  13. Cheers dude. It's a pretty good base really. Going to take it slow and just work on it over the next six months or so. Mostly because I haven't got a mountain of money to throw at it at the moment. Obviously I'm going to take full advantage of the fact that I now work at a VW dealership. :D :D :D
  14. Not too sure yet. The engine is for the most part pretty sound but the sump gasket needs replacing and I would like a new clutch in the there so might just bite the bullet and rip the whole lot out. The head will come off at the very least though. I'd quite like a new head gasket and hopefully I will get that flange to seal, also it has a bit of a top end rattle when you first start it up. Need to replace the slave and master cylinders. They were apparently done not so long ago but I'm not convinced they are functioning as they should. I may replace the gear box as mine has seen better days. The drive shafts are pretty nasty but haven't been advised on any MOTs yet. Which surprises me to be frank. Other than that just a good tidy up to get rid of 18 years worth of grime that is coating everything. Then I will sort the paintwork out. Gonna make a start on the interior soon too. It needs a new heater matrix and I want to sort the stereo loom out properly. The only speakers that currently work are the cr@p ones in the parcel shelf. I need to retumble my locks. There's loads of other stuff too that needs sorting out along the way but at least I've finally made a start on it now!!!!
  15. On purpose of course. :D finally I've got moving on what I have been wanting to do to this car since I got it. Not sure how far I'm gonna go with it yet as I haven't really planned anything. I just thought I'd indiscriminately start taking bits off it today. Corrado G60 expansion tank. Slightly discoloured, mildly f*cked. Otherwise fine. Free to good home. At least there's no rust.... Not sure this is as clean as it could be.... Will be doing some more destruction on Sunday. :D
  16. Sweet, that'll be interesting to watch. :D Schumacher racing against Loeb.
  17. You've bought a whole car for 55 notes and you're worried you've done the wrong thing? No mate, I don't think you have anything to worry about. I'll have it off you for sixty quid if you have a change of heart.
  18. Two six doesn't sound all that unreasonable to me if it is mint and you plan to keep it for a while and get some use out if it. He'd probably go down to two four or so and that sounds even better. A mint corrado is a rare thing these days. Wish I had one.
  19. Wa?! Where did you hear that?
  20. Oooooooooooh. Does that mean my main driver on the fantasy league is now Schumacher?!!!!
  21. i think you're right but i'm sure they will have get out clauses if he doesn't win enough races. but never mind winning, he still has to finish them first! :D[/quote:2kskunba] Like he did on Sunday you mean?
  22. GO ALQUASARIOSUSIO! As soon as I saw the pics in the Times of Massa being extracted from the car I knew there was gonna be a chance he wouldn't race in Formula 1 again. They put him in a controlled coma to reduce the effects of his brain swelling. That is not good. :( I really enjoy following Massa because of his inconsistency. Just because you never know what is going to happen. One of the more entertaining drivers I think. The sport certainly wouldn't be the same without him. He put in some of the best drives I've ever seen but also some of the worst! Like Silverstone in the rain....
  23. Cool - looking forward to seeing it :) The Scirocco deserves a good feature especially as they really rated it in in Top Gear magazine - Clarkson reviewed it very favourably for his motoring column in The Times as well. Hopefully the Rocco will get some big respect on the show. We'll probably be inundated with people wanting to come and drive them next week. Shame we haven't got one readily available to demo and if you were to place an order for one now you wouldn't see the thing until next year pretty much.... We've just had a white one come in on the new 19" wheels. :luvlove: :luvlove: :luvlove:
