That's awesome buddy! Respect deserved I'd say. Evo is one of the better mags out there imo.
-
Your car is in Evo?! Much respect! :notworthy:
-
My mate's Alfa is a skip    But I'm sure yours is lovely Double-6s. :D

You'd have to have a very good insurance company to fight that one out for you! Liability is a bloody nightmare. And hitting stationary objects doesn't do you any favours. The third party insurer would just say you were traveling at excessive speed and they'd both wimp out and it would go joint liability at best. Insurance sucks.
-
Yes you would be covered. But the claim would count against you as the insurance company would not be able to reclaim any of it's costs from a third party insurer. As it would if someone hit you and it was their fault for example. So your premium would be loaded and you'd lose any unprotected no claims bonus at your next renewal. Used to work in motor insurance. Probably just made myself very unpopular.... In a vain attempt to redeem myself I hated every second of it....

Oh, must be thinking of someone else.... I don't want to know how much you got it for do I?
-
Nice one mate! That is good news. Remind me, is this the one you saw for a grand?
-
I'm sorry, but there is nothing about that that I like.
-
Try Steven's mate: http://www.vws.me.uk/ They had a couple of Corrados when I was there last and he was expecting another at some point this week. Glad to hear it's coming along. :D
-
That list is missing the A140 between Needham Market and Norwich. Never been along it without seeing an accident.
-
Cool, cheers for that. Have you seen those technical videos on you tube? They're pretty good as well. It wasn't until I saw those that I could visualise how the thing worked at all from all the descriptions I've read. It's such an awesome design I'd love to know how people come up with these things.

I think it's fair to say that's pretty pointless. A mod just for the sake of it is never a good thing. That adds nothing to the car.

If I can get my white G60 looking anywhere near that good when I'm finished I'll be a very happy man. It's a belter! :notworthy:

Thanks for the responses guys, and sorry to hear of your mishaps. I did it on a wall as I was leaving my girlfriend's driveway. That's what annoys me the most is that it was such a stupid thing to do. Too right mate. If anything it's made me more determined to get the G60 up to scratch (no pun intended) and get all the work that needs doing on it sorted. Am going to visit some places on Saturday and start getting some quotes. I haven't the money until the valver is gone. Should get around a grand for that and then I'll just have to save the rest. What do you reckon? Also Should I stick to alpine or go for the Candy white? I love it on the new golf but would it suit the corrado?
-
It's alive! :D :D :D Picked up some half decent condition fuel lines from Stevens on saturday and it's running! It even idles and everything. Still not 100% but finally I'm getting somewhere. Need to find some wheels so I can take it out for a blast. Think it's a bit flooded and chocked up at the moment. Oh, and now it's running a bit better found the exhaust is blowing  ....
-
   Well, to be honest every door and panel on that car is a different shade of white so was planning a respray at some point in the future anyway. This might have brought that forward a bit.... At least I have the valver to sell (when it's working) to raise the cash.
-
I know worse things have happened to nicer cars, and people, and it was my own stupid fault but :( :( :( :( :(
-
I've seen most of those going round and round the Ds (a section of one way street in ipswich that looks like two Ds if viewed from above furnished with lots of traffic lights) in Ipswich. I keep meaning to take my corrado down there but I couldn't handle the shame if I got beaten....
-
Why do we get so attached to these cars?
Sonicriot13 replied to skinnyman9000's topic in General Car Chat
I have two. One of them doesn't work. At all. But even if I just sit in the seat staring at the dead instrument panel it just feels right. Nothing else feels the same. My girlfriend has a celica which is a lovely car. Unfortunately it's not the 190 bhp version.... but it's still really nice to drive, the gear shift is smooth as anything, the engine runs perfectly and the vvt is awesome. But it's just not my clunky old G60 that now sports busted front pas side suspension which couldn't have come at a worse time. I blame the speed bumps in the car park at work. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that the corrado just captures my imagination like no other car I've driven. It's like a pet... that needs to go to the vet all the time. You'd still love it. -
Please note that in no way do I condone the act of pulling sickies. Such actions are ill advised and can cause a person to get disciplined or fired. If they get found out. :D

I like fast cars and I like meeting up with like minded people. I have a completely clean driving license which is more than can be said of some police people and I certainly am not anti social. Once again it's the few idiots that do donuts down asda carpark trying to impress other idiots that ruin it or the rest of us.

1989 Toyota Corolla GL Executive 16v no less. I spent £450 on it then £300 the following year to get it through it's mot.... Had it for an age. Traded it in for 100 notes when I bought my next car, a mk3 Golf CL TDI. The first and least powerful of a long line of dubs. In fact my corolla is the only car I have ever owned that hasn't been a VW. I just can't picture myself with anything else.
-
That doesn't sound too bad at all. Just a few odds and ends to keep you amused. I'm gonna miss my valver when it's done. I'm not gonna know what to do with myself.
-
Cheers buddy, it goes without saying that there are plenty of very knowledgeable people (a lot of whom put me to shame) around here that will always be willing to help you out. The spoiler I think will most likely be pretty straight forward and with the ABS it depends on what the cause is. Just look at it all as a learning curve. Every car I work on teaches me something new. Well.... several things new in the case of the one I'm working on at the moment!

That looks pretty sound mate from the outside. And a good buy if you picked it up for the same money I got mine for :thumbleft:. What do you think will need doing to it?
