  1. Yeah, see a lot of Lambos down Ipswich way. How much would I love to spend but five minutes at the wheel of one of them.... I've never actually driven a car that has more than four cylinders. How sad is that?
  2. Reading those articles almost makes me want to sell the G60....
  3. Hey guys, In need of some help. Car is still running as it did when I first got it but have narrowed it down I think to the fuel distributor or the injectors. Am just about to go outside again to have another play. I can't see any fuel leaks anywhere but there is a smell of fuel, not overpowering and localized around the distributor. I haven't got around to draining the fuel tank yet. The ignition system has had a complete overhaul, even changed the battery. Thought I might as well while I was at it. Don't know what was up with those HT leads. They're either completely wrong or just poor quality. There's no manufacturers mark or part number on them at all, but anyhow they're gone now. I'm a bit concerned because I am starting to run out of ideas. If anyone can think of other things I can be checking that haven't already been mentioned I would be very grateful. Basically when I start the car the starter motor turns the engine perfectly, then it starts and sounds a bit like a lawn mower starting up. Really just sounds like it's on one cylinder, sounds terrible. One really disheartening thing is just how badly this car was treated by the people who had it before me. The cam belt cover is smashed where they've just wrenched it off, the same goes for the rad cover. Look at this picture of one of the alloys (it's on the space saver at the moment, pas side front): Is this likely to have been a result of or the cause of the flat tyre? Also is it fixable or am I looking for new wheels? Also here's the fuse board: What's missing from this picture? No seriously.... Anyway, the more things I eliminate the closer I get to fixing it. And the closer I get to bankruptcy....
  4. Well, you know... if someone offered it to me for free and all...
  5. Went to Alton Towers at the weekend (Oblivion is scary sh*t!) and on the way there and back from Ipswich I saw 8, and I kid you not 8, ferraris (most F430s of course), 4 Astons (3 vantages and a DB9), 2 Maseratis (they were black, that's all I know), G*d knows how many Porches of all ages and models, 1 Golf GTI Edition 30 (which looks a lot better in the flesh than in the pictures) and I think there must of been an American car show over the weekend as the entire British population of Mustangs, Capris, Cortinas, and Escorts were on the M1. And you've guessed it, I saw a grand total of no Corrados, not even mine because we took my girlfriend's Celica. :D
  6. Yeah that's well nice :thumbleft: Body work looks very good. Got any further with the work?
  7. If he got those results in a hurry I can't wait to see the results of a proper shoot. Awesome. That car is a blinder.
  8. I absolutely adore my G60, I would recommend it over either of the valvers. But then others would say I'm nuts for even suggesting that. The only real way you're gonna find out what's right for you is to drive them. Not the easiest thing with rados i know. But you're right they are going to feel slow after an R33 but trust me they are soooo good to drive the lack of speed in comparison is not gonna bother you too much, and it that respect you can't really go wrong with any of them.
  9. Like it! But you need to adjust the ride height at the front
  10. No way, it's a shame you don't see them more often. Look way better than some non-standard ones that are rolling around.
  11. Those wheels are sweet as! Been a while since I've that many spokes on a corrado, good job. :thumbleft: My G60 is a 91 too. Lovely cars. Haven't spent 4 grand on mine though so yours must ba a real peach.
  12. That is sweet. :thumbleft: Love the interior.
  13. I had a Focus ST following me very close behind. Was trying to bully me with his big old 5 cylinder engine. Was holding my own through the corners though :D . Think the most shameful one was some ghastly little mini that forced me into the slow lane so he could get past. I hate those things!!! :bad-words:
  14. Welcome to the forum :D Sounds like you've got a nice motor there. Excellent mileage. Any chance of some pics?
  15. Yeah, it should definately be looked upon as a positive thing that someone was willing to spend that on the car. Shows it's been well looked after. Got yourself a nice car there bud. :thumbleft:
  16. Lookin good 8) . The hard work has paid off. When I noticed your avatar had changed I thought you might have been up to something. :D
  17. There's nothing wrong with white cars!
  18. Now that is class.
  19. Oh mate, I feel your pain :( . It's rough when you have to part with any car that you love like that. But still, you have the red one now and it looks a gem. 8) Keeping it standard?
  20. Very nice mate! :thumbleft: And reminds me it's been at least two weeks now since I cleaned the G60. Which is a big deal when your C is white. And I'm worried it's getting a bit jealous of all the time I'm spending on the valver.... What happened to the storm? If the memory is not too painful of course :(
  21. Well, new air filter has gone in and reconnected the warm air hose with a proper hose clip that will hold it in place. Unlike the plastic cable tie that was used before. Already noticing an improvement in the running of the car but still not perfect and not all cylinders are firing. Upon closer inspection of the HT leads I found the one connected to cylinder 4 is completely different to the other three. When I remove the one from cylinder four it puts up a fight and there is an audible click when I reinsert it as you'd expect. The other three don't appear to connect very well at all. They fall out if you merely shout playground taunts at them, let alone the kind of language that comes out of my mouth. When I compared them I found what you can see in the picture below. The top lead connects to cylinder four and the other is from three. Now, please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but should they not all be the same? I've never worked on this particular engine code before so I might be wrong. So, new HT leads are on order anyway and should arrive tomorrow or monday.
  22. Sweet! This was a little project I did last year. Just got it through it's MOT and sold it. 50 notes from an advert off a hospital notice board :thumbleft:
  23. Nice one! Lovely clean car it looks too. And the number plate is awesome! 8)
