  1. The problem is the number is going to change all the time. And may not be all that accurate in the first place. How many have been sorned and broken without the DVLA being notified that the vehicle has been scrapped this year I wonder? And judging by the amount of cars I see going into Stevens on a regular basis with the front ends stoved in the number is sadly diminishing all the time....
  2. I love the arguments you get on you tube. Most videos don't have comments on the film any more, just loads of abuse. Still, it's a shame there are so many people out there who take that kind of thing personally. Guess it's quite interesting that two people can watch exactly the same video and see two different things.
  3. The guy you bought that off must have been nuts and/or in a hurry to get shot of it. You can't really go wrong at 200 notes. 8)
  4. A few weeks.... That's what I was saying about my valver when I first got it.... Mind you yours looks to be in considerably better condition than mine was. If you need any help along the way mate there are plenty of very knowledgeable people on here. And you're not the first to find suspect wiring in their rado.... Keep us posted.
  5. Vented wings . PVW special I reckon. That looks like a wicked project though. Bet you can't wait to get your hands dirty. Head gasket first on the agenda?
  6. Well, picked up a set of wheels yesterday (from Besian, thanks again buddy :thumbleft:) and fitted em today. Vast improvement over those sh*tty Integrals. No job is proving simple on this car, mainly due to previous ineptitudes on the part of past owners. One of the spacers was glued on.... Why? Anyway, it's starting to take shape now. Just got to finish the engine. Got some great pictures of that coming soon....
  7. :D :D :D Good lad! It'll work out for the best in the end.
  8. Yes, let this very thread be a lesson to us all. Gezza mate, gutted for you. You seemed well set on the Japanese metal. Still if you wanted to sell that you would get more than a grand for it. Add that to the money you got for the VR. Didn't you just sell your Fiat as well? You'll have a blown 6 pot in no time. :D
  9. Uh, I may as well do the honours this time.... Check out the buyers guide on this very site. Just click on the knowledge base on the board index page. Other than that, welcome to the forum matey. What's this rado you're going to take a ganders at then? I have no experience of TCS myself although I see them advertising all the time. Seem a little on the steep side but one would assume their in good nick and don't need some of the work doing to them you expect when you buy privately. My black valver being a case in point.
  10. I know mate, I don't even want to think about how long it takes to teach a computer how to do that. The head gaskets must be made of adamantium or something....
  11. I thought I had a lot to do on my two. But then again the rate I'm going I'll still be working on them in three years.... :?
  12. I'm not referring to the ten minutes of it I used to watch this video....
  13. Yeah I had that too when I lived in Ipswich. Strangely enough it was always the Housing association dross in the street opposite that did it. Sorry, but they were dross, total and utter. One family got moved on for selling drugs, another got kicked out because their kids were throwing rocks and eggs at cars and pedestrians and yet another got put away for attempted murder. And that was in a 'good' part of Ipswich! Why do the local councils insist on housing pond scum in respectable areas? It's not like Ipswich has a shortage of massive council estates to park these people in or anything. Yours Meldrew Wire I have noticed my area of Ipswich go down hill a lot over the last ten or so years. There was someone sat in a car outside my parents house shootin up not so long ago! and they keep finding loads of needles in the church yard near my house where all the Sunday school kids play. It's terrible. I've tragically lost a couple of friends to drug use. They're still alive but not in the same way they used to be.... And judging by some of the things that have happened in this town recently if the worst thing someone does to me is park outside my house I'll count myself lucky.
  14. I have a drive way with a drop curb and everything and people still insist on parking in front of it. Some people try and block it as little as they possibly can by going about 2mm away from the next car parked in the road. But there have been times when I've got home from work and not been able to park in my own drive way because someone has just parked in front of it like it's not even there. Well annoying!!! :bad-words: These people are the ones I have polite words with and they're normally perfectly decent people that just popped into the shops for five minutes. I would never dream of causing damage to their cars, aside from the fact it would br glaringly obvious who did it it's just not on no matter how much inconvenience has been caused to you. Is it worth trying to open up some kind of dialogue with the residents? Some might be disabled or have young children and you could agree not to block their houses. At the very least it would make you guys seem less faceless and they might understand your position a little better if you show an understanding towards theirs. I'm sure it is just a few losers with nothing better to do though that are carrying out the damage.
  15. Thanks matey - praise indeed from another white Corrado owner :) Well, I have a white one and a black one and the white one looks best! :D Definately will be the one I keep when the black one is back on the road.
  16. That looks awesome mate. Good job!Think you have every right to be pleased with that!
  17. Yes, and reading that back to myself I am wrong to generalise about Florida like that but those attitudes are the norm out there. It's the people that don't feel that way that are considered radical which I find a little backwards. But America is an impossibly diverse place so it's difficult to generalise about the whole nation. Where my Grandad lives in California he leaves his back door open while he is on holiday for weeks at a time just so the dog can get in and out of the house. He knows if it starts raining or something one of the neighbors will just go through the back gate which is always unlocked and close it for him. How many places in Britain could you do that? I think a lot of it is just cultural misunderstanding and the fact that they hold different things important to them. Cars being a good example. They are mostly cheap, don't last very long and can't go round corners. That's not because an American couldn't make a reliable car that goes round corners like it's glued to the road, there's no call for it. You can drive hundreds of miles without even seeing a slight left hander. It's when you take an American car out of context and try and drive it round Bury St Edmonds town center or a mountain road in Italy that it appears rubbish. I don't feel really connected to any nation anyway. Countries don't really exist. They're just imaginary lines drawn by somebody. The idea that someone born on one side of that line should have an opposing set of values to someone born on the other side is preposterous. The very notion of the Country is one of the most divisive ideas the human race has ever had.
  18. Please don't misunderstand me, I wholeheartedly agree. But it's not their fault. They are kept ignorant by their rubbish education system and government run media. That's how oligarchies work. If they actually empowered the population with knowledge and real aspirations the people in charge would be less powerful. I so nearly grew up in that country. Thank god I didn't cos my family is from Florida, one of the fattest most confederate, homophobic, racist, "we should never have abolished slavery" places there are.
  19. I take offense (that's how you spell offence in "American English", not that there is such a language) to that. I'm a dumb American.... Well half of one.
  20. Well, I think the bread was used for the injectors and the swiss cheese filling was used for the head gasket.... It's been a long day. And to make matters worse the G won't start now. Went to go out earlier and the battery is flat! It's been left a little while but not that long. At this rate I'll be going to the scorcher on the bl**dy train! :(
  21. Ebay has gone to sh*t. I hate it now. I first used it back in 2000 and it was so much nicer then. Now nobody ever leaves feedback any more (which I find very odd considering you get reminded to do it every time you log on), you have to wait two weeks for something to arrive and when it does you find the seller only spent £3 on postage when they charged you £10. :bad-words: Has the seller offered any resolution to the situation?
  22. Whilst rummaging amongst the crap in the boot I found a small sandwich bag containing these.... Do you think someone was having a little trouble with their injectors perhaps?
  23. Sweet! :D There are some well tidy bays in that vid.
  24. Yeah, it's the cost of parts verses the low value of the things that's the problem. You can break a 1.8 valver and get more money than if you sold it as a complete car anyhow. I've seen some perfectly reasonable ones round here going for not much more than £700. Heart breaking really.
  25. It's going good buddy. Am gonna update after the weekend as I have loads of work planned and lots of spare time to do it in for a change. Found some more interesting things in a plastic bag in the boot where the spare wheel goes over the last week. Lets just say I think the previous owner realised there was something wrong with the injectors but didn't quite know what they were doing! One more concerted effort and I should be just about there. It's gonna have to go into the garage for the exhaust cos I can't fix that myself but I have holiday next week so if I can get it running properly this weekend I'm hoping I can take it to the scorcher. We'll have to see....
