  1. Sounds like it must be running pretty well to use as a daily, so that's good. I thought differently for the clocks and tach. I thought the digital cluster would plug straight in and work, older needed the convertor box. I'll see if club gti can help, there is a good 20vt oem management thread. you have pm
  2. Been out for a better run in it yet? Bet your well chuffed. Started mine up for the first time at the weekend, hopefully give it a run at the weekend. Just bought VDCS so will see what fault codes I've got. Have you got your rev counter working? Mine sits at 3K at idle and won't go any higher. Not sure I've got it wired up right, how is your wired? I've got green/yellow (g1/12 on corrado fuse box) wired up to green/red (ECU pin 81 on APX ECU) I've got a green wire which might be U1/6 which currently doesn't go anywhere yet. Not sure if thats somthing to do with the tach. Need to investigate
  3. OK, thanks. I'll look into the lite version more.
  4. I'd want to check my DBW throttle (which I imagine is getting into the measuring block) and run the DBW calibration, would the lite version do this?
  5. cheers everyone for the info, very useful. It's looking like the ross-tech stuff then. £220 ($350) for this then? http://store.ross-tech.com/shop/VCHUC.html Hadn't really anticipated spending that much. Although this is sounding like a good justification for getting another VAG for the family car! bring on the A4 Avant!
  6. Anybody? The ross-tech stuff looks considerable more expensive, what's the difference? Thanks
  7. I powered up and cranked mine over for the first time yesterday and I don't think my fuel pump primed either. So probably have a similar problem. What have you done with the overun wiring? No help I'm afraid, once I tidy and finish up the wiring I may be in a position to help.
  8. Hi all, I want to buy VAGCOM so I can check out my 20vT install in the Corrado (OEM management) Unsure where/what to buy and what I should be paying. Seen this on ebay, anybody got it? Any good? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180750609160&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123 Any recommendations welcome Thanks Al
  9. If it's anything like a 20vT loom then it will be in the loom that connects to the coloured plugs in the bottom of the picture. Can't remember which coloured plug is DBW pedal without checking, would be best to check on your engine wiring diagram anyway. I just bought a pedal plug and pins from VW and will extend the right wires. Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
  10. Nice one, thanks. Off to look for some!
  11. Got any more pictures of these? Interested in these myself. What are they like for support and comfort. Thanks
  12. Cheers for the info. I'm just after a neat and simple install. The problem with the bulkhead mounted pedal I have is that it's close the fuse box so may limit the mounting options. Considering you have to weld and bracket to the pedal box when it's out of the car, trying to position it correctly to miss the fuse box and get a nice position is a bit more difficult. Not a huge problem but just thinking floor mounted could be a nicer solution but I haven't found anyone that's done it for a 20vT so they may not be compatible with the ECU's. Will phone Vince tomorrow to see if he knows. Long shot, anyone got a spare floor mounted DBW pedal I could try? Thanks
  13. Can you give us some info on what it takes to fit the floor mount pedal. Bolt to the floor? Do you cut the carpet away? I'll give Vince a ring and ask if it will work with the ECU as he's doing the mapping. Cheers Also, what's it like position like. Are you happy with it compared to the standard pedal? Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
  14. I think it may be close. Will be having a better look today. Have you got a floor mounted DBW pedal fitted? I'm trying to find out if one will work with 20vT. Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
  15. Cheers for that. So is it just a case of drilling the sheer bolts out then. Thanks for the offer but I've already got some on order from VW as I anticipated having to do it.
  16. Cheers for the info. I really can't see how you managed to get the pedal box around the steering column. Will have another look at the weekend. I've bought some replacement sheer bolts just in case! Have you fitted the clutch pedal switch? Thanks ---------- Post added at 03:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:22 PM ---------- just wondered, is you pedal box LH drive?
  17. Evening all, Any advice for removing the pedal box. Had a go on Sunday and looks like a nightmare. Seems you have to take the steering column out?? Which you have to drill out the shear bolts for?? I assume you can buy replacements? This is all to mount a DBW pedal for my 20vT conversion. So I then wondered about floor mounted DBW. Think there are a few people on here with them, although for 3.2 conversion. So not sure if that pedal will work with a 20vT, I'll have to look into that. Any install info for floor mounted pedal? Thanks Al
  18. Yeah, I'm using audi management with DBW. I tried to take the pedal box out yesterday though and it's not looking very easy!! you managed it yet?
  19. cheers for the info. yeah, a part number would be useful. Was going to go mk4 but need to get the hose end changed which is a bit of a pain.
  20. I'm just putting an APX in mine. Be interested to see how you get on. I'm hoping I don't have the same engine problems! What mk3 golf was the PAS pump off. Are they all the same? Thanks Alex
  21. What did you go for in the end? If I could find a good source for mk2 pump I'm going to do that. Otherwise, mk4 and try and get a banjo fitting put on the end of the existing pipe
  22. Cheers for the info, I didn't even know stealth did exhausts so will get mine done there as well whilst it's there for mapping. I think what you've had done is exactly what I want. I've decided to give a 20vT a go! Yep, still got your caliper wind back tool. Will chuck it in the car at the weekend so will have it with me, you living in Oxford now? I can drop it in one evening? Look forward to seeing your motor, sounds awesome
  23. All sounds good. Where did you get your exhaust done? I'm going to get a custom system from turbo back, was going to try longlife in Weston on the Green. Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
  24. Link from club GTI with a load of good info. DBW throttle wiring on post 20 http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=205887 Wiring diagrams for various 20vt ECU, can get the same info as above here but in more detail. http://www.zen17496.zen.co.uk/downloads/
  25. I'm just starting out and plan to use the DBW pedal. I've identified the wires in the loom. From memory its the blue connector in the 2nd engine loom (the one without the coils etc). There is a load of good info on club gti, I'll get you the link tomorrow. I assume your engine had DBW in the first place? Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
