  9. ah right got ya! thanks for explaining that, you see i throught that it was a generic chip put in and thats it!!!!! i throught that the ECU would do the rest i.e learn new parameters, foR example an increase in air flow, would adjust the fuel to suit. thanks for taking the time to explaining it to me cheers Chris L
  10. sorry, probably didnt explain myself about what i meant. i dont know much about remapping. see i thought it was a case of taking the old standard chip out and putting in a new one, but i guess what your saying is that there are alot of different chips out there to cater for different things. cheers for the info chris
  11. hi all, ive been looking on here and found alot of info on the subject of the vsr manifold, alot of the posts comment about rechipping/remapping when fitting the vsr, WHAT MY QUESION IS IS! should i wait until i get my hands on one ( might have abit of a wait tho :D ) before i remap my car? or doesnt it matter which way round u do it, the reason im asking is i was thinking of getting my car remapped but dont really want to pay out for a second remap after fitting the vsr if you see what i mean. next question what would the remap do+ what power output could i expect to gain? can you tell the differents? is the a big differents in mpg, next question where is the best place to go for a remap many thanks Chris L
  12. hi been searching but couldnt find any tihng on this does any one know the location of the oil temp sensor, the one that controls the MFA trip computer, i guessing that it could be above the oil filter, but they look to me like pressure switches cheers Chris L
  13. can i ask 3corsa mate where u got your gliptone, or the products in that photo from. would be interested in given it ago (where is it sold halford etc) there are thousands of products out there, swissol, do a re-dying product, i use armoral, conditioner and also the wet wipes and found them to be very good, i think if you want to stop it cracking it might be worth trying some tack cleaner/conditoner. you know the stuff they use on horse gear, down side is it smell a little but it will soften the leather up hope this helps cheers Chris L
  14. Im running 10/40W Vdub oil at the mo, but ive been adviced to put 15/40w (you know the blue bottle mineral oil) in instead would like other peoples views and what they put in there VR6 cheers Chris L
  15. as some of you may remember i brought and fitted a supersprint exhaust system to my C VR6 back in december, i posted a post up on the forum saying about a problem i had with the back box (Oval tailpipe version) not a lining right and also problems with the rear hanger and the main tailpipe to be, well on the piss is the best way to describe it!!!! :( Well demon tweeks have sent me another one!!! (i had to pay for it and send which one i dont want back) firstly the that last hanger is welded in a different place!! second this one came with a replacement bracket which replaces the existing VW one (as seen in the pick below) which i didnt realise that it should of come with, as i had to modify the original to get it to fit, (all this seems funny when i sent pictures to demon tweeks, which then sent them on to Super sprint in italy( this also makes me laugh cos the supersprint sticker says "made in Italy, but the box the box says made in china :D ) who couldnt figure out what the problem was!!!!!!!When its CLEAR from the photo im missing the F in hanger! oh deep joy third the new one they have sent me has three major dents in it and in general doesnt look as gooder quality/well fabricated as the first one i recieved!!!! Dont get me wrong the system itself is very good in terms of overall sound, looks etc and altho a little slow to get things sorted demontweeks have been very helpful. Has anybody had the same thing happen to them? and how did you get over it many thanks Chris L
  16. Why do you ask mate? what would that indicate????
  17. no cheesewire, its not asim's, i brought it about a year ago in Bournemouth, the owner before me had it for about five years and looked after it, christ 212hp i take it that is at the flywheel???? what should a standard VR be at the wheels? 19. yeah pretty easy to fit, mind u i did have to bend bill's ear and few others on here a bit, ive still got alot of the part numbers if any body needs them and i think i have some step by step photos of how i installed it? sad i know i even colour coded the wires and used the same install foam so it looked like it VW had installed it!!! u never know whos going to be looking under your dash!!!! :D i believe there is a wiring harness/loom still available for the main stealer but is silly money!!!
  20. i guess the last one dont apply to me cos ive got a coil pack?
  21. im guessin you lot disconnected the injectors/fuel rail before carrying out the test, to stop lots of fuel being throw down the bores!!! and is it best to do it hot as for the working tolerances total agree with the above checking the difference between them cheers Chris
