  1. oh and does anybody else experience the fact that the rear end is alot firmer than the front (the front coilovers on mine you would never know it had been lowered thats how go they are) im running H&R streetstyle coilovers btw many thanks chris
  2. i read on here somewhere that the lower you go with certain coilover kits, H&R to name but one, that the ride quality actually improves, surely that cant be right? can someone confirm this for me. cheers chris i do agree with you, as mine are the same the higher you go the more you compressed the spring becomes so the lower you go the more unwound the better, but surely then the damper is lower, so your get less damping? also, i know this sound crazy but im sure im getting a better ride comfort from my 17's than my standard 15'in speedlines, has anybody else experienced this? cheers chris

  6. cheers mate, yep she is a nice one, really fancy tinting the rear lights next thanks for the comment chris
  7. Cheers mate, its done 72,000 Miles, its my favourite colour (well i would say that) as its so different depending what light is on it, people always is Black :mad2:.blackberry is another big favourite of mine, but probably my all time favourite colour has to be what VW put on the Edition one Golf G60 Aurbgine is it? something like that lush colour, purple is the best way to describe it, what one of those car just for the colour lol :D cheers for the comment mate chris
  8. yep agree with the above, they are a big old lump to pump oil around, as it says earlier give it to or three minutes, i would also sugguest staying away from engine flushs as well as additive as these also can do more harm than good i.e removing particle from around the engine and then getting clogged in the oil pick up gauze, the ONLY Engine additive i would recommend is CERTEC this is the stuff Audi use for all their timing chain vehicle, stealth racing sell it.
  9. only thing to do mate is to take the part no that i put up on here and ring vw and see if it is the same, personally i would agree with you in that they are different due to the extra weight etc, but i best they are the same part no know VW!!! :) Chris
  10. i personally would shop around, VAG, TPS, GSF, VAG part.com etc for the best prices unless your set on geniune parts, defo do the top mounts, wishbones look at the condition i.e back bush and lower ball joint for play!! as the wishbones are 70 quid aside (that does not include the lower ball joint and another 17quid for that each side) from VAG but you can buy the back rubber bushs for a tenner each BUT you will need a press to press them in with. The rear can be a bitch to replace, again your need a press, i keep putting it off, but i think it would a good idea to replace as Corrado's are gettin on now, and it will defo tighten up the back end. regards chris
  11. cheers phil, the more i look at the stance of the car now, make me wish i had lowered it a long time ago :) soooooo much better, Devon mate
  12. yep do it i love my mk1, i only use mine in the summer to go to shows, weekends etc as i cant afford to run both cars all year, had a great year in 2008 as it was off the road for several years before and soon realised what i had missed, took it to the mk1 owners club annual meet, stanford hall, and stonor park back in the summer and loved it would be gutted if i had sold it, had it eight years now!! tbh mate if i found a corrado in the scrapy with a/c then i would fit it to mine, in the process of refurbing some 288mm calipers, its funny you should say that i looked at overlays, empire, but will probably go down the same route as you and get some savages tint spray, but will pin strip them, tbh mate the finish on your blackberry vr i think is first class in the photos for overlays.
  13. ZAK dont get me started :) A/C, Recaros,VSR tbh the amount of time we would both a/c in this country, but its always nice to have, i have leather seats, but would love recaros, they just look the business :) a/c was a dealer fit in the corrado not like the factory golfs???
  14. ahhhhhh dont zak, im now probably going to go down halfords first thing tomorrow morning now and cause havoc i my wife's kitchen for the day lol :) you pin striped the ones on the blackberry vr tho havent you???
  15. cheers corrado nos , tbh thats the sort of look im after the less is more look, ive worn out my copy of PVW's OSV old car, i just need to get mine up to that standard and some nice front recaros in leather lol cheers chris
  16. lol good man :D yeah not the most practical wheel in the world especially since theres no lacquer on the rims, wouldnt mind doing what you done to my rear lights next, :) I lovin your recaros BTW
  17. yep i would defo agree with jim, but i also think you cant beat a few nice shots in a multi storey :) , lovely motor mate, one of my all time favorite colours  , nice ride height, what coilover kit you running and how doe you find the ride comfort running 17's cheers chris
  18. cheers zak No mate they're my summer wheels, just that i fitted some H&R coilovers over xmas (xmas prezzie to myself) and wanted to see what they looked like, they are coming off again tomorrow and the speedlines are going back on!!! :( i probably will lower a little more also but only for shows cheers chris
  19. hi still pretty new to the detailing world, and starting to really get the bug since a few of you on here, recommended Zymol pre wax cleaner (cheers kip) and DODO juice (cheers andy 665 and A1 vr6) but im now looking at the other products i use and think if there are any improvements i can make??? ive seen on this website about snow foam what is it? and what does it do? and where is a good place to get it from? Also a number of you are using Megs hyper wash, again what is the gains over normal car shampoo, im using two Auto glym shampoo & conditioner and also sometimes Megs gold class shampoo. also i have read on a couple of sites that Sonus and chemical Guys products are better than Megs as i mainly use these products i.e tyre dressing, plastic conditioner etc i also saw this product this guy was using to finish his corrado, i think its called zaino? ive never heard off it what does it do? the DODO juice i am using at the mo is Purple haze and its a moonlight blue VR any help and advise i would be most gratful cheers chris
  20. cheers phil. :D Happy new year dubbers :) Went for the MOT today, and on the way back went the scenic route home :) enjoy as it was freezin taken these :( p.s it passed the MOT btw :D cheers chris
  21. yep no adaptors needed just a straight swap for the speedlines, if your going to put wider rims on tho (more than 7j x 17) than i would look at getting the arches done, ITS MOONLIGHTBLUE!!! LOL its ok i get that all the time cheers for the comments KAD :) Yeah it does look like yours mate, would like to get my rear lights done next :)
  22. cheers for the comments guy, yeah they are my all time favourite wheels leon and i drove along way to get them, they do come up for time to time on fleabay, yeah you will pay through the nose for them tho, as some people will say on here, but a casio does the same job as a rolex or an omega but you always pay more money for them lol :) if i didnt get them thw RH's would of been next in line :)
  23. cheers guys, its a supersprint back box, the ride height is 600mm at the rear and 595mm at the front what ride height are you at out of interest? i also notice your running kw v1s what are they like cos i was so close to buying them but opted for H&R in the end. cheers chris
  24. took the VR out today to test out the new coilovers and thought kill two birds well three (as i had to get some parts from TPS :) ) with one stone and take some shots of it. im really impressed with H&R's (cheers bill) it was always going to be between them and KW V1's. the build quality of the H&R's is excellent (struts in stainless steel) and it feels like the standard ride comfort with far better handling, even the wife said that lol before lowering after just incase i forget what car i own lol :)
  25. well the job is near finished, with only headlamp adjust to do (mots friday so will do it then) and wheel alignment which i hope to do at the weekend, she sits 600mm at the rear and 595mm at the front here a pic on the flat as i took the vr out today for a test drive!!! im really impressed with H&R (cheers bill) :) it was always going to be between that and KW V1's. the build quality is excellent (struts in stainless steel) and it feels like the standard ride comfort with far better handling, even the wife said that :) lol
