Are yours aftermarket? Standard ones should fit properly, although I always half tighten the bolts so I can make slight adjustments before replacing the rear panel. Think they are genuine but tinted, but will try the half tightening method. Cheers! :salute:

Just a quick update - waiting on a new hose to arrive to sort out the steaming (Thanks StueyB :salute: ) Car still hesitating - checked through recently replaced parts before I bought the car, in June it had a brand new Ignition coil, sparks and HT leads.....any other ideas? :confused4: Dan_Storm, Buttles....still around any time soon? Been super busy recently :(
-
Good job on the lights - any tips on how you managed to align them so well? Mine look a bit odd :(

Anyone got AP coilovers? Didn't like my weitect hicton gt's (too harsh) and have been told that AP are better within the same budget. Obviously I don't mind spending more although i'd like to retain as much comfort as possible. Any ideas? The GAZ ones mentioned seem a good deal and not much more...wonder if they do a fixed damp setting :confused4:

Push the stalk back the same way in which you'd turn the rear wiper on...annoyed me loads before i figured that one out too

Love it, nice seeing the subtle differences! I actually prefer the side indicators, and the seats look pretty good. Much prefer the early interiors for some reason - think they look 'meaner', lates remind me too much of a mk3 I used to drive. Yellow still looks in good nick, too. Will be keeping an eye on this thread :norty: Nick

Thanks dude :) I was considering the weitec springs/shocks combo, although their reputation is a little tarnished in my eyes! the 60mm drop sounds ideal actually, depending on if i get some new wheels. I'll be sure to check out your members gallery in a sec, a US spec sounds interesting :norty: And the brakes were huuuge! Looked as if the rears were bigger than my fronts  They'd go well with your nugget! Nick

Update - i really miss the handling of my 16v, the vr so far feels really unstable taking some corners at speed....methinks its time to lower it asap although i found my old coilovers (weitec hicon gts) too harsh and crashy, i'm thinking springs/dampers will be the way forward....off to the suspension thread! And my bluetooth hands free has decided to start disconnecting calls after 20 seconds...annoying :bad-words:
-
My thoughts exactly! Screw the rims, those brakes are huuuge! Not that i'm condoning theft or anything :nono:

Some small updates, Fitted a new head unit as the factory cassette players sound quality was crap. Some cheapish Sony one with the all important USB connection. Fitted all red rears (thanks veedubdave :salute: ). See pics - What annoys me the most is that the rear lights never seem to align properly :bad-words: I'll have another fiddle later but for now it takes years off the car! Also found a cayenne next to the office...anyone need big brakes?

I know Redhill very well (I used to live in Earlswood), but unfortunately i'm free from Friday afternoon onwards! I have next week off work though, will you be around then? Cheers, Nick

This storm is an inspiration :notworthy:

I must say the finish looks good, and probably better value than a certain local bodyshop to me (JD). You're welcome to check out the VR anytime! valver now sold so it's bittersweet lol Nick

No prob. I'm not far from Gatwick, just a few mins off Junction 10 of the M23. I can meet either next weekend or possibly a weekday evening. Send me a PM and let me know what works for you. Cheers, Dan PM sent. Cheers! Agh can't believe i missed this opportunity! I work in Central London so i'm not around during the week :( Not sure if i have an OBD2 port or not tbh. Don't suppose you're around on any other days are you? Cheers, Nick

 What a difference! Looking good mate, I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for you although i think now it will be easier to notice :norty: Nick

Thank you everyone for your replies, sorry it took so long I've been a bit busy this weekend! As the majority votes coil pack, I guess that this will be the place to start! Thanks for the offer, just checked your location and it isn't too far away so whenever you are free is it okay for me to come down and try it out? Beer tokens will be provided and hopefully we can try and resolve it...tired of the car "holding back"!. Are you nearer to the gatwick side of W Sussex or a bit further onwards? I'm close to the M23. As for the leak, I think you may be right - just had a quick feel of the hose you mentioned and there was some water there (as well as what looked like vaseline? :cuckoo: - maybe the previous owner applied it as a quick fix). I'll remove it when i have some more time and look for any splits. Will keep you updated. Thanks again everyone, Nick

Hi all, Couple of problems with the vr, was wondering if anyone could shed any light? Firstly, after going for a fairly hard drive the car steamed a bit from the bay when i switched the engine off. It smells like water vapour at a guess, and upon looking it seems to be coming from the area in the picture circled. Any ideas? Second problem is very random jumpy acceleration. Sometimes if you put your foot down it will slowly pick up and then out of nowhere will wheelspin, etc. Almost like a misfire but it's always at really random revs. I have a problem with my ABS at the moment (sensors were replaced but now seems to be engaging at times under normal braking  ) could this be the cause? If not then perhaps fuel filter? not sure where to start really! Oh another thing to mention is that the car doesn't like to idle when cold. I have bought a blue temp sensor which i hope will resolve it, but can this be linked to any of my other problems? Cheers, Nick

Saw this for sale on ebay this morning after looking for some borbets. Sounds like a quick sale! Might even see it if it ends up in south glos. if you do then let me know! Good luck with the borbets, shame i wasn't selling mine :( But if you considered buying new i bought mine from "Race and Road", google them :)

Well, I thought about it and I decided that I can't justify having 2 corrado's :( I don't commute and only really need 1 for the weekends/evenings. The 16v has now been sold to someone from the gloucestershire area so any locals should look out for it. I'm gonna miss the car so much and I am confident that it has gone to a good home - the owner has some interesting plans :norty: Thanks to everyone (esp. davidwort) for their help on the valver over the past 3 years, now I can pester you VR6 experts

Thanks for the info, i'll probably go with them - seen your campaign and it looks quality! Hopefully the cost of sending it to them and vice versa won't be too steep. If you don't mind me asking how much do you reckon the rear bench would cost me considering you had a full trim? Nick They have a collection and delivery service should you need it. It will be cheaper if you retain the middle bolster but i'd get it trimmed so it doesn't look out of place. They should be able to match the leather pretty damn close. Best to ring Stuart and have a chat. I won't see them for a couple of weeks, when I collect some other bits if you're willing to wait ?[/quote:1q5q99hu] I'm more than willing, thanks :D

Thanks for looking for me - looks rather different doesn't it! I don't think my 16v has those bars either, can't lay those seats down anyway due to the parcel shelf speakers :( Keep us updated :salute:

Thanks 8) 8)! I'm in no immediate rush btw Are the visible metal bars you mention very noticeable then? :salute:
