  1. Thanks for the advice - Found these mk2 golf 16v hoses Dont suppose you know which 2 wont fit, and where I can get the odd ones? (pref. not vw!) thanks!
  2. Could be the power steering pump, mine was making a weird buzzing noise and I ended up having to replace it. Pretty easy job, and a pump costs somewhere in the region of £100 - although I'd check the PAS fluid and belt tension first if i were you :)
  3. my temp sounds the same as yours and hasnt given me any problems :) welcome to the forum :)
  4. Nice! Love the old Land rovers, couple of years ago my mate took me for a spin in his V8 and loved every minute :D
  5. bought mine for £105 from a local auto shop - Is quite easy to fit if not really fiddly. Before making a commitment to buying a new pump, I reckon you should change the fluid, and give it a good bleeding - helped mine alot before it was time to change, but not quite enough - might be different in your case tho :)Also check the belt tension while you're down there!
  6. hi, Looking for replacement coolant/rad hoses for 1.8 16v. VWs cost a bomb, was wondering if anyone knew where I could find some? (shops, sellers, etc..) All i see are samco G60/vr ones :( help!
  7. Yes, you basically have to ensure that there is a sufficient amount of crack in your system to get into the right frame of mind for the fiddly job ahead :D Had a split water pump the other day - cost me £8 for a replacement, and a further £105 to get it fitted! If i were you I'd attempt it alone or with a friend, wish i had instead of using the "im on holiday!" excuse ¬_¬
  8. Befriend someone in Redhill sainsburys who can apply for a Euro car park pass, and park it there for free everyday ;)
  9. Hi, Couldnt find anything related in as much depth - found this on the corrado canada forum and thought it may be useful to some new G60 owners. Apologies if seen before or if in the wrong forum section. http://www.corrado-club.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4198&highlight=steering+pump
  10. ewwwwww :( looks like someones swallowed a corrado and sh@t it straight back out *weep*
  11. Whats your lowest been? Seen mine at 14 something mpg a few weeks back - Hoping it was just the mfa playing up!Hasnt been that low since though
  12. was a complete bastard to remove my pulley! Even several whacks with a rubber mallet didnt do the trick. Ended up having to take the whole pump off before the pulley gave. I had to drive without PAS whilst sourcing parts - didnt realise the C was sooo hard to turn without power steering :(! but good luck mate! I'm sure you'll have no problems, i'm just pretty shi7 in general :)
  13. Recently had a burst water hose whilst on a 300 mile journey to n.wales - the host cost me £8, but cost £113 in total to fix! The only reason I didnt do it myself was because I was on holiday, and was quoted "No more than £50". Turns out it took over an hour extra for some dimwit to remove and put back on the alternator ¬_¬. Was not too pleased parting with my cash, but atleast it had been tested properly, and the car powered it back home fine after! Was much better than having to stop every 20 minutes to fill up the water tank with welsh river water :D
  14. Seeing a smashed Corrado gets me everytime :( *weep* Hope it gets sorted soon!
  15. nice! Who needs air con when at the press on a button you can make your doors disappear! Although saying that, i wonder if you could open them whilst driving
