Continuing from my previous post, I have been shopping around for quotes, but somethings rather baffling me: there are 2 options for the windscreen, 1 being "normal", and the other having a top tint and green top strip. Now, I know i have a strip along the top of my windscreen, but its not green, its kinda blurred and dark. Anyone know what they mean by the green top strip? Just don't wanna come home after its fitted to find some ugly bright strip on my car :( Any ideas folks? btw, just to give you an idea (All including labour and VAT): Autoglass: £522.62 ("exactly the same as VW" - or so i was told) Autoglazing: £370.13 glassforcars.com: £320 nationwindscreens: £296.10 budgetwindscreens.co.uk: £287.88

Need a windscreen, going through insurance is not an option - do you know any sites or companies where I could get one for the price mentioned pls? preferrably surrey/london area! thanks EDIT: just called autoglass, £522.62 for top tinted glass, windscreen + labour...and thats with a discount! surely there must be someplace cheaper?

Mine's been juddering a bit lately, and i've narrowed it down to 3 possibilities: 1. Shagged clutch 2. Cold Weather 3. New Shoes! I don't know if #2 is relevant, but its been juddering ever since the mornings got dark again.. but i'm hoping in my case its #3 :D

lmao! I remember my mate getting a load of these of fleabay a couple of years ago for about £5. Scratched off the sh!tty black paint and tested it on a multimeter...you can get horseloads of them for pennies at RS components. I have a K&N, but the guy i bought the C off already wacked it on - I'll still advertise the fact that Its on tho :D ha -
There is alot to consider indeed, Mr. Riley! Cheers for the advice guys, I was really trying to avoid looking at a MkII GTI, but they do seem to be the best option. Fine! I give in, i'm gonna go check some out this weekend

With the winter quickly approaching, I'm contemplating putting the C to sleep, so as to get engine work done throughout the season. I was thinking of getting another car during this time, and I noticed the Audi Coupe. I don't really know anything about the car, other than it sort of looks like the audi equivalent of a C So i ask to ye: Mechanically sound? Reliable? Best model + comparison? I don't particularly want another corrado type car, where it saps all of my money. I just came across this as they are relatively cheap to get hold of. If you don't think the coupe is gonna be worth it, can you recommend anything else? cheers

Don't if this will help, but I usually get a slight tappy noise sometimes when I start the engine. Holding my rpm at around 2.5-3k for a couple of minutes seems to do the trick.. good luck

If you got rid of your C what modern car would you have?
n3p replied to Jay2's topic in General Car Chat
Would have to be a Leon Cupra-R for me, with a mk4 R32 coming a close second! -
CTRs are v. good, my friend just got rid of his..200bhp factory! However, the corrado is sexier and has wayyy more presence than a 4yr old CTR imho

Loving the engine bay..what stuff did you use to paint it black? Also, whats that red bull can all about? :D nice car mate

Could be worth getting some more. I went to outdoorbits.com (might be .co.uk) beforehand, but it didn't stick as well as I'd have liked - possibly because the old muck was such a nightmare to remove! Cheers for the link, will have to get some more at some point :)

Whilst reading the thread about the German plates, it made me reminisce about my encounters with the law over the Corrado. Since owning the C, i've been pulled over twice: 1. After days of persuasion, I reluctantly agreed to tow a friends car for him in the C. He'd just bought a Mk2.Astra GTE cab engine from ebay, hoping to use the engine for another GTE shell. Usually we'd just take the van up, but the seller said that the car was towable, and for an extra £50 we could take the whole thing away. "Bargain!" my friend said, and off we went on the journey. About 20 minutes into the journey, I double checked with my friend where the car was located. "Bournemouth", he confessed. Bournemouth! He expected us to tow a car from Bournemouth to South London without getting caught! I wondered why he wanted to go at around 11pm.. Matters became much worse when we actually saw the car.. A purple astra cab, missing its roof, missing its seats, missing the bootlid, missing the dashboard..This was basically a steering wheel with a load of wires and junk. The bonnet was held together with tape! After about 2.5 hours of driving down some A-Road with about a million cars behind us at around midnight frantically beeping their horns, we hit the motorway..uh oh. To make matters worse, the astra's lights cut out. Within 10 minutes of being on the motorway we were eventually tugged. I thought I was gonna get absoloutely raped for being on the motorway towing a car, as far as I was aware it was a big no-no, but that didn't seem to be the case. The police were pretty shocked to find a man in the astra, cowering underneath all the wires looking pretty cold and wet (It was raining, and there was no cab roof!). The ending? A £30 fine for me, and 6 points to my friend + £200 fine, as well as the astra getting taken and crushed :D haha! teaches him for being so bone idle in the first place! 2. The second time I got pulled over was rather odd. I was driving back home one afternoon when a packed out meatwagon signalled for me to stop. Policeman comes up to the door, and realises his mistake - They were after a dark Scirocco! Apparently there was some murder in London at that time (summer) which was played on Crimewatch, stating that a Scirocco was the getaway car. The policeman told me that they have orders to pull over any dark coloured scirocco and search them. Once he realised his mistake, he sent me on my way. Sorry for the excessiveness, i'm just pretty bored at work. Anyone else got some stories? :D

I opted for the slightly less suspicious white/yellow german style plates, which say "GB" on the side as opposed to "D". Still haven't been pulled over, but I admit i do get pretty nervous when police are behind me!

My temp light always flashes, which is quite annoying (will fix it when i can be arsed). Had no troubles though, just keep an eye on the actual temp dial until you get it sorted

Personally, I'm not a fan of lexus lights, aftermarket corrado bodykits and "shopping lists" (brand stickers plastered everywhere).
