  1. Hi all, Bit of a long request this but basically I have been having problems with indicators not working intermittently. As far as I can make out, it appears this is due to the trim that includes the left hand cubby hole and a few locating hoops for the fusebox cover not fitting properly. Looks like its applying pressure to the indicator relay which may have damaged the terminals within the fusebox. I don't know if this is a common fault but I'm not sure how far out my fusebox is sat, its secured in the cradle alright. I was hoping people could share with me pictures of their own fusebox and trim so I can see where it's been fitted badly! I will include a picture of my own soon. Cheers, James
  2. Can I just say, I know this is a bit late, but the galaxy S2 can actually output audio via the mini USB port. Whether a connection exists to use this feature on a stereo is beyond me. To play music through my S2 to my HU I just use bluetooth streaming.
  3. It has a BMC on it mate! Just without the feed pipe. Thanks a lot!
  4. quiet here! what do you all think of the vid?
  5. Been a while since I updated, car is still going strong but will most likely be treated to a refreshed engine soon. Let a friend give the Corrado a spanking up a few A roads, managed to film some of it. Have a look! http://www.youtube.com/embed/oflneAdB0Do?hd=1
  6. Did consider the MAF, but haven't done anything about that, what's the best way of checking them? I have access to a multimeter but the thing that confused me was how to supply power for the hot wire whilst still taking readings from it. Unless its just a resistance check that I need to do?
  7. OK I'm getting suggestions that it might be the Lambda probe, we unplugged it and the car seemed to hold at 2000 revs with a much lower smell of fuel out the back! It's not throwing any fault codes up on the lambda though, what do people think? Please Help!
  8. Hi all, Sitting in my driveway holding at ~2000RPM to check that the tappet noise wasn't any worse, we all noticed how rich smelling the car was. This was a fully warmed up run, so I hooked it up to my laptop to see if anything comes up. One error is logged and cannot be cleared: 00561 - Mixture Adaptation 15-00 - Adaptation Limit (Add) Not Reached From what I've read this error refers to the mixture being out of limits at low/idle (additive) stage? I also read that a common cause of this fault is a vacuum leak? I also took time to monitor the sensor readouts, then noticed that these can be logged and recorded. So I have done, results to follow, these were taken whilst stationary on my driveway between idle and 2000 rpm. Hopefully some people in the know can tell me if all the readouts are within limits? Log attached Thanks in advance James vagcomlog.pdf
  9. even have dark pearl burgundy! thought that was going to be a sod to get hold of, great find
  10. Sounds like the engine was a rebuild then mate, the engine was certainly quiet and I believe there was receipts for engine work in the history. You'll be pleased to know that since owning the red car, both of my friends now have VR6s in their driveways, so it really started the Corrado fire burning. If you were going back into C ownership I would suggest getting the VR6 (or G60) variant. I think the Type R is a great motor, the VR6 is very comparable performance wise to it! It had just been treated to a stainless manifold to go with the exhaust and decat system, really sounded great after this. It had some multi fit alloys on it that were very quick to go, the 2nd owner replaced them with a set of audi replica alloys which really looked the part. I think the clock was reading around 140k when I last saw it, around 10 months ago. I have shamelessly found some photos on my friends Facebook for you to look at! 11. see your other post mate, I know this car well.
  12. Hi Willsy, I can't vouch for the last 8 months, as my friend who owned it sold it on when a VR6 took it's place. It was sold to a young lad who was very excited to take it away. Before that, it was owned by one of my friends, then sold to another friend totalling around 2 years of ownership(roughly between 08-10). Both loved the car and put a lot of money into keeping it running. It resided in Bournemouth for most of this time as we undertook our studies down there. I personally put a lot of blood and sweat into this car, as, owning a VR6 for the entire time, you gain a bit of mechanical understanding of them. In the first year it did have a few problems, but from what I've heard it's now very good. It was very well looked after (also no expense spared like yourself) and made a nice, raspy note, plus I was informed the suspension fitted to it (was this you?) was a very good (and expensive) setup, making it a very capable car. It certainly gave the VRs a good fight, I was also told it had a lot of work on the engine and was around 160 bhp? Not sure if this is the original one or not, it had a red painted rocker cover. I hope this helps, my friend (the last known owner to me) is but a phone call away should you wish to know who owns it now. My friend who owned it first was always keen to say how mint the paintwork was and that it was original, I'd feel bad telling him what you've just mentioned thoug! Cheers, James
  13. Ahh look at that unmistakable stance tucked away next to the lupo! Looks nice, From what I can see  It looks like there's nearly a foot between the roof of yours and the Lupo, and you think a Lupo's compact! I swear the C must be like a tardis, I'm not exactly short (6ft 1) and I still have plenty of headroom...
  14. I guess it has something to do with all these comfortable pedestrian bumpers, like being hit by a feather stuffed duvet! C_M - mini is a perfect example, I still have a burning urge to own one one day, couldn't care less for the not so small bini though. I know the feeling of returning to the car park, thats why this is my second C, couldn't replicate that feeling any other way. Andy - can you treat us to an attachment or link to the article? Never parked next to a Lupo so don't know this one
  15. After returning to my car earlier today, I was reminded of the fact that the Corrado is not a big car at all! I was sat next to a mid 90s civic hatch and noticed mine is actually narrower and lower (has been lowered though) than an already small car!? It looks about the same in length however. I guess it surprises me because of the engine they managed to fit in there. I suppose that's part of the reason the C turned out to be such a great car? Packing a 2.9 into something that size was a pretty mean feat! Plus I had one up on a friend who was banging on about his civic coupe with VTEC being a light car (plus the obligatory VTEC is the best conversation), yet it's around 60kg heavier than the C! Thoughts? Discussion? I'll attach an old photo as proof, conveniently with another Civic in shot towering over it! Ps this isn't all aimed at abuse of the civics
  16. Hi all, Not really sure which one I need, just looking to replace the one which made a bid for freedom on the M25. Have a very naked front end at the moment! I have attached a pic. If anyone has one or can point me in the right direction I'd be most grateful. James
  17. WigsVR6 - if it's your car mate, I noticed a few days ago on my daily trawl that unless I'm misreading the french text, someone has re uploaded it and claimed it's their car? Same vid carter just someone has nicked it by the looks of things *Edit* Sorry I think I misread your post Wigs, it's a RHD corrado so could well be his!
  18. I thought this was the 'Joke Thread'? Oh and Marshall, I have seen some hilarious Japan jokes recently, and I will just say the one you posted up was terrible. As was said by The_Dude, if you want to make a joke about disasters, make it a funny one, yours was just awful and I would say disrespectful too.
  19. Alright mate, although it sounds a lot like my car (especially the number plate!) I haven't been to the north in quite some time!
  20. Had a bit of an anti-chuftie yesterday.... Driving home along my well road-humped street slowly, povvo spec Audi TT coming the other way. There's me minding my own business, driving with care over the humps, and the cheeky TT driver approached looking at me and the car shaking his head as he passed! Cheeky sod, what a hypocrite too!
  21. No buzzing as far as I'm aware, it just simply does not come on. @v8rumbler, do you mean the relay? If so do you know which one it is?
  22. Hi all, Searched and searched for this one, can't seem to find a similar case. Basically my indicators have suddenly stopped working, but can be enticed into functioning again with a few thumps above the binnacle or around near the fusebox. Anyone had any experience with this problem? By stop working, I mean they will not flash at all with the stalk in the left or right position and the cluster indications are not illuminated at all. When I tap the dash, sometimes it will flash once and other times return to it's normal cycle. It also seems to lessen when the car has warmed up, maybe characteristic of a wiring fault or dodgy relay. When the indicators don't work, it seems the hazards still do, and the alarm will flash the indicators regardless. What do you all think? Cheers
  23. Are we talking from the factory here? In which case I'm guessing yacob's contribution would be a modification rather than OEM.
  24. They do indeed mate! Very handy but not cheap I'm afriad. Can be found here Work perfectly for my VR as I cant actually get a jack under it, even with these I have to lessen the ramp gradient with some wood before it will go on them.
