  1. ^^^^ bah!!! I'm selling the 8v now, it's up on CGTI: http://www.clubgti.com/showthread.php?255149-Black-5-door-1989-Mk2-Golf-GTi-8v-with-rainbow-interior-for-sale It's been great fun and i'd never had an 8v before, but we bought it in April 2011 before I even finished uni as a little runabout for £400 and we never expected either of us would be doing 1000 miles a month in it! It's actually fared very well, but it's time to move on. With the recession, there are some great cars to be had for not a lot of money so we're going to take this opportunity to upgrade Now Cazza, be a good mate and go find me a Storm Grey VR6 :D :D :D
  2. awesome!!! :D the more I look at repairing ours properly, the more I think i should juts give it away and get another C.
  3. you sure your driveshaft isn't to blame? perhaps someone put a pattern outer CV joint on it and it doesn't fit so well.... any pics?
  4. my CAD work is over 1.5 times that, and i too just twiddle a mouse!
  5. That's odd. Perhaps it's something wrong with the driveshaft then? I know I destroyed the thread on an outer CV joint that I swapped once by whacking it back on the shaft with a hammer.
  6. Feel free to take a hint from yours truly... https://wot.motortrend.com/rolls-royce-phantom-aviator-collection-coupe-debuts-with-rolls-royce-of-cupholders-248655.html :smug: :thumbleft: just don't ask what they cost because you won't like the answer...!
  7. This video says it's a 1.3?! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8_d6KWL0Tg&feature=related
  8. probably has a sequential gearbox on it I would think. That car probably has throttle bodies with very short trumpets and hardly any silencers in the exhaust so is bound to sound a bit lairy.
  9. If our press at work was big enough, I would have made a press tool to make them out of ally or even a fixture to make out of GRP or fibreglass. But it's not, so there's not much point really.
  10. you know when Prodigal and I helped do some bits to your car and you left us a crate to say thanks? Yeah, I never saw any of those..! Think you're right though, will be good to head over into the countryside :D ---------- Post added at 3:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 3:45 PM ---------- Sounds like that box will transform the car mate! Look forward to seeing it soon!
  11. Don't be confused, just seems that I'm wrong :-) Glad someone else could clarify for you.
  12. If you need to put some miles on that box, you could always pop over to our Shire! :D
  13. pretty sure all corrado rear beams are the same, so that should help widen your search :-)
  14. Perhaps a little more research is in order. I'm perfectly happy to do the design work and I can prob get a set made up either in plastic via rapid prototyping for trial fit or out of metal but i'd actually have to check on that. I think I rushed into trying to design something whereas I don't even have a VR6 to even look at or see how the whole suspension needs moving. I udnerstand it's a harder task than a 4-cyl BJE. If anyone else has some input on this let's try to get something going again...! wooo! yeeeeaahh.... *tumbleweed*
  15. ....so......did I drop the ball on this one? I can't actually remember where we go to... If all originally interested parties could post reminders / flames / hate mail, I'd appreciate it! Jon.
  16. laurie, you will need front cross member for sure as the front engine mount is completely different between 4-cyl and 6-cyl engine. You will probably need VR6 subframe (rear engine mount and gearbox mount fixing frame) also.
  17. is the left boss bigger than the right one or are my eyes playing tricks?
  18. CC is the fugliest car i've seen in a long time. bulbous lights on the back are horrific.
