there's not really plenty of second hand ones available. Perhaps there's a stockpile in guernsey or something.

what are coiler pipes? -
Higgs Boson is sitting in a Church when a priest wanders up and says "you can't be in here, you need to leave!" to which the Higgs Boson replies: "But without me, you can't have Mass..." Thankyou!!! I'm here all week! :-D :salute:

you could use a mk2 frame on a C - the 2 differences are no vibration mount (big square block) on the Golf subframe, and also the extra fixing points after the ARB bush brackets aren't there on the Golf subframe. The frame would fit on a Corrado, whether you would notice the lack of the NVH-style damping or the extra support at the back of the subframe I have no idea.

no offense, but they're nothing alike if you're referring to where the front engine mount is? 4-pot mount is like a hockey puck, 6-por front mount is more like a pot shape (and has a big circular hollow section If you're talking about the main section which the wishbones fix onto is more commonly known as the subframe (at least by me!) then the panel that supports the radiator I call the radiator support panel :D a few seconds on google: VR6 front member 8v/16v front member - identical to the Mk2 golf item as shown by my early Corrado which had a cross member with 191 xxx xxx part number on it. Hope this helps, Jon.

Warning please read and pass the word
boost monkey replied to mattyattitude's topic in General Car Chat
good warning - cheers fella! sounds like he's a bit bitter that someone found him out! Have you reported him? -
the long bite clutch point means that the clutch is new - the higher it bites, the older/more worn it is. Do you have a manual or auto adjusting clutch cable? manual looks like it has a little disc on it, auto looks like a long cylindrical tube part near the box. I'm sure your matey can sort any issues :-) welcome to the club :D

Tommers, glad you got it and hoping you're not ruining those rainbows! ;-) might need new guages tbh, not a hard job to do at all, hardest part is disconnecting speedo cable from the back of the cluster. Or you could turn ignition on and get someone to wiggle the connector for the dash temp guage in the engine bay and see if the needle moves. Sometimes mine works and sometimes not. Same with the tacho - seems my tacho will ALWAYS work if it's a cold day(!). MFA may be a vac line going - again not hard to do, the hard line connects to the back of the clocks with a little black rubber tube. does it pull well and idle properly? might be blue temp sensor - classic item to go but when it does the car idles like a bag of ass so you'd know about it pretty quick. hth, Jonny

So every time a bearing goes it's £70 AND you have to replace the stub axles? doesn't sound like a good swap to me (unless I've misunderstood something!)
-
94 mystic blue on ebay only brings up a pic of a mk3 on a trailer?
-
So it's a dogging car then? :-) I thinki you will enjoy the golf, and even if you get bored of it just stick it in a nice cosy garage and watch the value go up. Win-win really.... unless you 'Corrado' it and it ends up stripped and laying dormant like a beached whale ;-)
-
No, but ebay knows. They're no sebrings, but maybe £100? Do you have all the centre caps? have you bought some seat covers yet? don't even open the door until you have! :)
-
it might be faulty. Not sure where to get them from - if everything else on the MFA works right you could try and replace it. Ebay might have some.
-
i found mine usually slipped out of its mount under the bumper and was hanging loose as a lot of people pointed out when i parked up :/ perhaps yours is reading a bit of engine heat or something. does it still read high when the engine is cold?
-
Nice work Tomlinson! When you swap the wheels over, feel free to send those Castels over to me - much better condition than mine! :salute:
-
do you mean the outside air temperature as found in the MFA (trip computer on the end of the wiper stalk)?
-
If you want BBS wheels then go for it, the Castels are horrifically heavy! I keep meaning to put some steels on mine, but i only just got nice tyres so they'll stay for now. Can't remember the reason for the forking, perhaps I just had some pie. p.s. the venoms were a joke.....right? o_o
-
few things - I don't think the wheels are that rare, I have them on my 8v and they're nothing special (i guess i could be wrong) get some covers for the rainbow interior - i had a mint set in mine and went for a drive with a dessert fork in my back pocket (god knows why) and put about 3 lovely holes in my drivers seat - buy covers now, thank me later! rainbow seats are a big selling point esp if mint (people have asked me if i will sell the seats out of mine!) I find the interior quite samey to the corrado - just the golf dash doesn't wrap around and point to the driver. Jon

high rpm or low rpm? does it hesitate when you pull off? more info needed :-) could be fuel pump or perhaps a vac leak somewhere (hesitating would suggest this)
-
the early 16v corrados (and poss G60s) have the same part as Mk2 golf (even have the 191 xxx xxx part number stamped on) but for other engines, i'm not so sure. Hope KipVW is able to sort you out! :-)
-
I wonder if a mk2 one would fit then? :-)
-
mk2 golf 16v will have the same PAS hose IIRC, so that might help you out - try ebay. the part of trim you're looking for is called the "rain tray" - stops rainwater getting into blower motor and the ecu! useful :-) Jon.

1991 16v Corrado Nearside / passenger side Driveshaft - non Abs
boost monkey replied to classic's topic in Wanted
the abs ring sits inside the disc :-) -
I have to say you've done INCREDIBLY well to be engaged for 4 years already! Don't know many women who won't run out instantly and start planning the second the rock is on their finger!

1991 16v Corrado Nearside / passenger side Driveshaft - non Abs
boost monkey replied to classic's topic in Wanted
i don't think there are ABS and non-ABS spec driveshafts. You could even take some from a mk2 golf if you needed, they're all the same AFAIK.
