  1. how do you know the starter is fine, have you taken it off the gearbox housing and tested it?
  2. Just weight saving i'm guessing, downforce will be the same.
  3. I don't think GSF filters have non-return valves in full stop. They sure didn't for Mk2 Golf engines (8 and 16)
  4. deffo bonnets. Not sure if they're interchangeable though, if not i'll have an early for sure! (Maybe you should start a feeler for group buy on CF bonnets?) I think £450 would be a decent price is they are triple-lacquered and hand finished like the spoilers are 8)
  5. ^^^ sounds like a plan I reckon. My burgundy came with 4 shot HT leads and it seems happier to start and rev now.
  6. Wishbones and ARB links came yesterday. Going to rob a decent PAS rack off Danny Allen's shell which is coming on saturday, plus a spare subframe / brakes all round / loom etc which will be good. waiting on more funds to appear so that I can get new engine mounts. Also, half contemplating rebuilding the gearbox. If it's the original, it's done 180,000+ miles
  7. less acceleration, the gears are longer, so it would feel slower. Of course it will feel slower until 4k, that's when a KR comes on cam. If you want a wall of torque, get a G60 or a VR6. can't be arsed to go into proper engineering mode, sposed to be in labs in an hour...ta ta!
  8. Sorry, maths coursework is handing me my
  9. Yeah, does seem like that sometimes! Awesome, thanks for the tip, will keep my eyes out.
  10. you have someone fat in the passenger seat? :?
  11. 'twere the bros and a foregone conclusion obviously! His G has more torque in 5th than mine does in 3rd  I reckon I was at 4000rpm in 3rd (~50ish) and he was in 5th at 50ish (2000rpm?) so i'm sitting on ~120lbft and he must have been 130+lbft as he pulled almost one car length on me, then i changed to 4th and he was gone. I actually thought he was in 4th, but it was 5th.... insane...
  12. Found a hole underneath the battery today, which had obviously been leaking. Will prob have to farm this out to a welder, get a whole new tray put in. Ho hum! :?
  13. Smart arse get back to Lectures... However US spec Belts... :? Obviously not that much of a smart arse cos he missed this bit on his Corrado Database link 1 out of 2 and I didn't even click the link.
  14. Carpet Wash.jpg[/attachment:1394g8oc] Wax on, wax off. I'm glad your camera didn't break, my left hand was approaching Mach 5 8)
  15. iirc the starter takes its earth from the gearbox? should be a thick black wire anchoring somewhere on the top there. wiring isn't a huge job, there's just so much of it but everything has it's own connector on the fusebox. Once you lay it out it's not so bad, but let's hope you don't have to get that far! where you based?
  16. ok well as the speedo is broke, that would explain the MAF - at least it's a linked problem, not something seperate! wishbones should have arrived today, hmm..
  17. Bro-deo Drive, Good work on the spark masters. Maybe you can pinch my spare HT leads from Block #2 and bring overings?
  18. Sounds like the wiring is shot to hell. Never heard of an immob being wired directly to a starter motor, only into the ignition circuits behind the dash. Have you taken the starter motor off and examined it? have you checked any of the voltages and currents through the wiring? Stalling could be caused by either the immob cutting in or maybe faulty OEM wiring that's just corroded. My loom looks like a rabid pig has mauled it. :(
  19. Where does the MAF take it's MPG readings from, I'm guessing it's not off the analog speedo cable?
  20. Yeah, as long as your tax bracket doesn't change I'm not sure they care. When I changed a 1.6 8v to a 1.9 16v I didn't bother telling them.
  21. Must be europe, look at the grammar! obviously been translated. Plus the pics are from Netherlands Corrado Database site.... 2 + 2 = 4
  22. lol, you westerners are snap happy! All that stuff looks ok, I would have blanked off that coolant pipe aswell. I hope you REALLY like spirited driving, because that oil cooler might cool your engine oil down below optimum? Just food for thought really :)
