Ah cool thanks! Don't know how I missed that, I've been scouring Carfolio!
-
Anyone done it, and in what trim? I'd be interested to see what the F/R load distribution was! The trim level would also be important :D J

I can't believe no-one has spotted mine... it's been stationary over a year!

Have you lost the little weight that sits on the 8v driveshaft? I think it's a resonance damper or something but it might have affected the weight enough to increase the torque steer. I doubt it would affect it THAT much though.
-
wheel alignment maybe? Have you bumped any kerbs or h it anything recently?
-
Might be worth reading the dedicated 20V thread.

ditto steering lock. give the wheel a wiggle

Great updates buddy, seems like you're getting through stuff fast! Keep it coming
-
LOL! I hope that's not supposed to have any chassis rails

ok cool thanks. The plum was insured until March 09 so I should still be ok. Just trying to sort out insurance on my fiancee's car with her as a named driver. She's portuguese but has swapped her 10 year old Int'l licence for a UK Full and only held for 2 months so the online quotes are kinda screwing her over.

Does anyone know if No Claims Bonus expires/runs out? I've got 4 years but haven't driven a car for over a year... :s Might phone Brentacre and just check with them, they insured the Plum last.

Mine is DBP, see sig for sun reflection shot.

Ahhh the days of student houses with huge driveways. I had the shed in the garden full of random parts too! :D
-
I appreciated the extra legroom, but was worried about the chassis strength

aide, these pictures are from a loooong time ago buddy. 2 years or more!

Buying an old Midnight/Moonlight Blue shell and stripping for parts Hiring circular saw and cutting shell up for the scrap metal man Still have most of the bits from that shell, some in the back of the Plum (storage!! lol) and some in Prod's roof. Includes AC parts, full loom, lots of drivetrain, etc etc etc. Feel free to throw up pics / stories of good times with your C. I know I need motivation quite often to press on!!

Forgive me if i missed something, but what are the main diffs between Jammin and Haywire's VRTs? I always thought they were pretty similar builds.

I'm not sure if this is a serious thread or not. If it is: My foam just disintegrated over time and just flaked off. Whenever I dropped the bonnet some more would come off. It's just a fatigue thing and 99.8% sure not rat related. If it isn't:    :notworthy:         :salute: :salute: -
# I always find turbine blades a funny thing from an engineering point of view. I mean, they pass their melting point easily when in use but they're flushed with so much liquid nitrogen that they stay solid. Insane. In the simplest possible way I can explain it: It's like putting your oven on Gas Mark 9, placing an ice cube on the top shelf and it not melting. Insane.

Sounds like the starter isn't interacting with the flywheel properly, and the splines on the motor aren't meshing with the teeth on the flywheel.
-
Yeah I'm sure the OEM turbo manifolds have different metals and alloying involved to stop these things happening. You could always stick your manifold flange face, all nice and shiny now, under a microscope and see what the grain structure of the metal looked like! Does your turbo spool (and stay on boost) when on motorway for example? Perhaps that's where the manifold fatigue is coming in. Food for thought :-) speaking of which, lunchtime! :norty:

In fact, Prodigal's G60 didn't actually have the the holes cut in the inner wheel arch cover either and his is a 1992. Perhaps it was only the 16vs that the ducts were fully implemented in, or maybe Prod's car had new covers :D
