Anyone know the exact path the oil takes inside a VR6? Is it: Sump > Pump > Filter > Crank bits > Valvetrain or Sump > Pump > Crank > Filter > Valvetrain or even something else? Can't find any info on it, in the CF wiki or in the HUGE Bentley book. Thanks! -

I found out this afternoon that I can get my design rapid prototyped by Renault absolutely free through my Project Supervisor! :D :D :D -
iirc the Vag OEM lines are steel. I remember trying to bend an old one and I couldn't budge it! That's why they're painted too, to stop the rust.

Just a quick q: does anyone know if the sump on a VR is the same as the R32? Basically, would a VR dry sump fit an R32 block physically? I know the cranks will prob be different, with stroke changes etc. Any help appreciated! -
Just heard you're doing your hard lines.... it was nice knowing you Kev lol seriously, i'm sure it'll be fine. Just dont't run off to the caribbean halfway through....

Where are you based?

I don't know how low your car is, but a lot past standard height will put extra strain on the CV joints.

I'm taking a wild stab in the dark here, but are you talking about the G60 engine? The topic isn't very clear.

actually think that was vwdomo :D btw, I approve of this:

Nice one! I forget you're in sandland sometimes. Looks like good fun! I've been in the Hyundai 4x4 V6, can't remember the name, and they're actually really nice.

I've been adding a sinusoidal motion to the steering rack this morning so that I can measure the bump steerage and it is a BALLACHE! taken me almost 2 hours to get right and i'm still not sure the figures are correct :/

I think you can get heavy duty ones, normally labelled so or perhaps Diesel. I had a Diesel mk2 golf front mount one mine, and the whole cabin shook when the starter cranked over! :D

Mine is called 'Stella' after the beer: "Reassuringly Expensive"

get under the car and twist each driveshaft by hand. The dead one should have more play in it, and may even make a "donk" sound when you move it.

Nugget almost done! Well top bit anyway :)
